I'm not a feminist but I do believe a person can think about his/her self.
Roles are about share.
Catholic marriage says: marriage is sharing and helping each other for the burdens of life in sickness in health in rich or poverty.
Couple needs to share values as: loyalty, respect, commitment, patience, service.
They are on board together.
They both bring values and capabilities to make each other grow.
But people does not grow at the same pace.
In Islam, men and women are considered equal but have different roles. Women are encouraged to embrace their femininity and men their masculinity. While men are expected to be the primary earners, women are not obligated to do so. Women are also expected to be obedient to their husbands. Interestingly, a Western woman might willingly be obedient to her male boss at work but may struggle with the idea of being obedient to her husband.

Vague terms like obedient is stupid.
If boss goes out of line, women slap them with lawsuits and walk away to find another job just as easily. So you’re saying the same can be applied to man and woman in marriage? 😂
Obedient is nothing but trying to take advantage.
A honest to god man will be obedient to his wife just as his wife is to him. It’s not a one way street.
But they have the same goal. Keep marriage happy and lead a peaceful siccessful family unit. Doesn’t matter who obedient to who behind closed doors.
