great video, there was a picture in there of Rav Elyashiv sitting with Rav Schachter. Rav Schachter certainly deserves to be amongst the other gedolei hador of this generation. He doesn't receive the respect that he deserves because he is a rosh yeshiva in Yeshivas Rabeinu Yitzchok Elchanon (YU). Not to knock the rosh yeshiva at any other yeshiva, I have learnt in the Mir, Lakewood, etc. and the Rosh Yeshiva in YU are some of the most amazing Torah scholars of our time, as are the talmidim.

beautiful video. very upflifting! I noticed one picture with lubavitch chassidim learning together. But yes it would be nice to see the Lubavitcher Rebbe and previous rabbeim.

Dear Osnalla and To All Who Share Your Thoughts,
I would like to bring some points to your attention before you go spouting in public ignorance of actual history concerning the upkeep of the flame of Torah Learning. Would you please answer the following question truthfully: 'Other than Chassidishe Yeshivot -and yes the LUBAVITCHER YESHIVA in particular, how many (Musar oriented) Yeshivot remained in operation to keep the flame of Torah Learning lit during WWII (Lulei Soroscho, the point of the video)?
While I am not here to c"v second guess those Yeshivot that recessed, the fact is during WWII when operating a Yeshiva could cost you your life, not a single Musar Yeshiva remained opened in all of Eastern Europe! Furthermore, you talk about Chassidim and food, why don't you inquire from those who were bochurim of Kaminitz and most other Musar Yeshivot during that dreadful period. Ask them who fed starving Yeshiva bochurim when a morsel of bread was more valuable than a gold watch? Who did so without regard of which orientation the bochur followed? Who paid for the mesiras nefesh of unabated operations of underground Yeshivot (Lulei Soroscho) with their lives. Of Torah teachers and facilitators who were fathers and husbands that never returned home after being arrested? Furthermore, why don't you ask around and see if this chessed was reciprocated when Chassidishe bochurim, refugees in Shang-Chai were starving. Alongside them was a Musar Yeshiva in Shan-Chai which received a large sum from the JOINT (Jewish Federation) in the USA. The Rosh Yeshiva of this great Musar Yeshiva was designated by the JOINT to distribute the Hatzala funds for the survival needs of ALL beleaguered Jewish refugees. Now, please ask around of how this Rosh Yeshivah diplomatically declined to help Chassidishe souls (some actually perished), stating that the money was needed to establish a library of seforim in his Yeshiva.
These are chapters that have been glossed over, probably Lma'an Hasholom after a tragic horrible time for all of Klal Yisroel. But that doesn't mean it is acceptable for malicious people to throw around the word 'history' and distort the reality. The reality is that there were and are great Torah giants in the halls of Musar, but the ones that kept the Botei Midrash opened in Eastern Europe defending and nurturing the light of Torah Learning during Judaism’s darkest period (Lulei Soroscho) was the Chassidishe world and CHABAD IN PARTICULAR. I hope that this dose of accurate history doesn't break your heart or shake your emunah.
BTW: If not the tenacity of the Chassidishe world and indeed their concern for food; for Glatt Kosher, and Cholov Yisroel, for Kedem, Paskez and Liebers, for the probability of the Kosher restaurant you frequent plus the kosher music you listen to, all of these would still be a haze an impossible dream here in America if not the Chassidishe locomotive!
I must tell you that it was not easy, nor did I find any pleasure in writing this comment. But my maternal grandfather z”l a Lubavitcher Chossid (and a huge Lamden) was arrested and rearrested, he spent a total of 22 years in Russian labor camps, his body finally caved. His official charge was 'Agent Schneerson', what do you think he was caught pedaling? My father a"h was not from a Chabad family, but when his father was determined that he should learn Torah even at the risk of the death penalty there was only one Yeshiva functioning, I repeat only one Yeshiva was willing to defy the communist, so that was where he was sent. As a result, we his children are Lubavitcher CHASSIDIM! As for the authenticity of facts that Kaminitzer bochurim were being fed during the terrible hunger years by Lubavitcher mothers who did not have enough to feed their own families, this was told to me in person by an illustrious musmach of Reb Boruch Ber ZT"L and of Reb Chaim Ozer ZT"L. The shameful story in Shang-Chai is rather known to many, but I heard it directly from a Litvish friend who told me that HIS father a"h was the 'right hand person' of the particular renown Rosh Yeshiva charged by the JOINT to distribute hatzala money for the refugees in Shang-Chai. The fellow told me that his father was enraged by the decision cooked by the Rosh Hayeshiva himself to use the hatzala funds intended for suffering refugees and to rather spend it on the purchase seforim for his Yeshiva library. Moreover there was an intentional disregard for the starving Chassideshe bochurim. The man’s father quit his position (although diplomatic excuses were later provided, but this man was on the inside and privy to the internal discussed strategies). He never again wished to court the Rosh Yeshiva, disgusted and horrified by what he had witnessed. So you see it is my conscious that compels me to respond to your remarks, as you aren't an isolated voice to espouse such egregious opinion. The mesiras nefesh of those from who you are a direct beneficiary demands a voice. As Hillel Hazoken closed his remarks to the arrogant agitator, "and now go out and learn!" Go learn the true facts of real history; you might actually rewrite your perspective of how this video should have been scripted without having to change the song (Lulei Soroscho).
Thank G-d I believe that much has changed. Today we have witnessed a stadium that is filled with Jews of every circle gathering together to celebrate the wonderful learning and Siyum Hashas of Daf Hayomi (instituted by Reb Meir Shapiro ZT"L who was a lifelong Chossid of the Chortkover Rebbe ZT”L). Indeed 'Moshiach is on his way, cause he can't wait any longer, he's coming any day’ (a song by MBD who is a proud Ribnitzer Chossid).'
