    hi i tried the clutch off slowly with no gas to change the gear however i notice a bit of jerk sometimes not all times but few times. sometime it works and sometimes doesnt. spoke to my intructor and he said sometime it depends on the speed of the car other times you will need a bit of gas halway the bite or clutch.

  • @AndiLambe
    @AndiLambe Před 3 lety +1

    I love this channel! So much better than my ISM instructor! I have a question about hazards. In my first test there was no oncoming traffic at all (it was first thing), so you pull in a good bit before the hazard to wait, but if there is no oncoming traffic would you do the same or just go?

    • @DaneTygheletsdrive
      @DaneTygheletsdrive  Před 3 lety +2

      Just go I'd imagine, if no traffic coming there should be no need to stop.

    • @AndiLambe
      @AndiLambe Před 3 lety +1

      @@DaneTygheletsdrive yeah I would imagine too, so mirror, indicate and pull out. I’m only ask as I did my first test early in the morning and they gave me 7 1’s for hazards, all parked cars, no idea why as there was no oncoming traffic and I indicated and checked my mirrors.

    • @DaneTygheletsdrive
      @DaneTygheletsdrive  Před 3 lety +1

      Yeah, read the road ahead, mirrors indicate, move out early and gradually etc.. Just like in the video. Sometimes marks on hazards are picked up in other areas - not just dealing with parked cars. It's possible you could have lost marks in other areas like ramps, road works, cyclists, braking late.

    • @DaneTygheletsdrive
      @DaneTygheletsdrive  Před 5 lety +1

      It's a good idea to indicate when overtaking if crossing the middle of the road, just because you perceive that there's no cars approaching or coming from behind doesn't mean that there aren't any, you don't know for certain.

    Hi Dane, should you be extra cautious of parking cars ahead of you. I understand this is situational, but if a car infront for example is trying to parallel park up on the street I’m driving on. Should I stop and wait until they are safely in the space and off the road ? Or would I be marked for being too cautious

  • @kenyamedjeu
    @kenyamedjeu Před 5 lety +2

    Do you have to do a quick glance on blindspot before overtaking parked cars?

    • @DaneTygheletsdrive
      @DaneTygheletsdrive  Před 5 lety +1

      Not really, depends on the situation, if you move out a long way perhaps a quick sideways glance could be useful but there's no need to if you are only moving out a little bit.

    What should we do if we come across a rubbish collecting truck and its stopped collecting? Should I wait for it to move forward? Or should I consider it like a parked car and move ahead (giving right indicator)?

    Hi Dane, Thank yo so much for all your helpful videos. Do you not need to indicate the whole time your overtaking?

    • @DaneTygheletsdrive
      @DaneTygheletsdrive  Před 5 lety +1

      No you don't have to indicate the whole time, it just depends on the situation as every situation is unique, for example if you are overtaking but not crossing the middle of the road there's no need to indicate.
      And the indicator is an intention of what you are about to do so if you are already out in the middle of the road then turn it off, otherwise people could think that you are turning right or parking on the right up ahead.

    Hi Dane, thank you very much for the video, i have question.
    In your example at 1.08, would this be the correct approach.
    If the cars are on your side of the road then i have to give way to on coming traffic. In a scenario that i don't see any on coming traffic i should indicate out and keep a doors length from the parked cars.. in the example above there is a gap between the two parked cars so should i come back in or keep in the same position and only use the gap if i see cars coming?
    If it's a considerable gap then i'd feel out of place driving on the other side of the road... This is the key issue i'm facing at the moment. Thank you

    • @DaneTygheletsdrive

    Dane, here's the situation. I'm going straight, and up ahead, I see the driver doing the reverse manuever into the corner like a test and Im approaching. Now, question is: Shall I wait for the driver doing the reverse manuever until my way is clear or I drive around it like reacting a hazard in the video? Im confused because if I drive around while the reversing car is in motion, I think that's dangerous, right? or I shall wait?

    • @DaneTygheletsdrive
      @DaneTygheletsdrive  Před 3 lety

      Just drive around him if it's safe, I can't really answer it definitively because it depends on the situation, if the person reversing is showing proper observation he'll see you and stop. Then you overtake him if it's safe.

    • @DaneTygheletsdrive
      @DaneTygheletsdrive  Před 3 lety

      Everyone benefits, information is knowledge and knowledge is power. You don't need to indicate every time as it depends on whether you are moving out over the line. But as long as you realise that other drivers and road users are not able to read your mind then that's progress.

    • @DaneTygheletsdrive
      @DaneTygheletsdrive  Před 6 lety

      Carina That's a good question and the honest answer is that it depends on the individual situation. It's good to keep bacl and allow space and also watch out for the buses indicators if it's indicator is to move out its best to let it move out. If you're unsure best to hold back and wait.

      Regarding situation at 6:11. Suppose there is an alley at the right side. By signalling to the right, the opposite driver in front might assume that you want to turn right to enter the alley, so he might stop to give your way to the right, while you don't. Imo, opposite drivers have seen the hazard so that they will know your purpose for going through by crossing the line without turning right signal.

    I was in a similar situation where a car (and several behind followed suit) to 6:00, but I was the oncoming lane. and thankfully I was keeping it well below the speed limit, because I was able to fully come to a stop, but the oncoming car forged ahead without letting me even have a chance to scoot up into a driveway and the people behind just kept coming. Now of course people automatically faulted myself, but I would like to get your opinion on it. czcams.com/video/-bmK445XgP4/video.html it is a notoriously terrible corner with the cars parked on the street, but in this case I would have thought if they were driving defensively, they wouldn't have passed the cyclist so closely or quickly and would have given a greater gap to slow down or even be already stopped. I also have video on my return trip from the shops where I met someone a bit later into the corner for them and they stopped due to their hazard, but if I had approached further would have gridlocked us. so I held back to let them through. So I would like to know your opinion on it.
