Gun rights angle just needs to be adjusted for capitalist perspective. No one wants a gun license but you pair it with gun insurance? It craates jobs allows experts in the field to feel fulfilled and guns are now properly taken care of and repaired. It works if you feel like you're getting something out of it.
I like the insurance angle, I hadn’t thought of that before. You could also make it so that your premiums are higher if you don’t properly store your guns in a safe. I live in a rural part of Australia and most people I know own multiple guns but they are legally required to utilise a gun safe and have it checked by a regulator every so often and the amount of accidental deaths/suicides by guns went down drastically when that policy was introduced.
I hope that someone in the campaign or administration will see this. More necessary than ever. Thanks, Hasan!

I’m thinking more and more that Tim Walz is the best guy to go with. Well liked broadly, talks straight and shoots from the hip, and comes across super normal even though he’s passed super liberal legislation. He’s really good on domestic issues and can seem malleable on foreign policy (could be good or bad either way). He makes extreme Republicans look WEIRD and obsessive. He’s a normal guy (a teacher) that has common sense legislation. My mom, my grandma, me and my brother like him. Heck MSNBC even likes him! Multi generational, diverse education and none of us liked her when she first ran but we’re all at least considering voting for her this time around but we ALL like Tim Walz! I’m Balz to the Walz!!

One thing is for sure, all social media and youtube, no matter the type of video you watch is littered with Kamala ads. Good strategy, I guess to get a younger vote, but it's a bit too early as social media users have short attention spans, so if Trump puts out a similar ad campaign a week or two closer to vote all Kamala's ads will basically be inconsequential.
I think the point is to make this moment in time memorable, so they can call upon its echoes in the 11th hour, when it's most critical to maintain this energy

See Hasan has really solid intuition and beliefs compared to any other commentors you will find on these topics. My only gripe is when he tries to say he understands what the average person thinks and believes he just doesn't get it. How does he think he would understand what it is like for the average person from his perspective. I know it is his job and but he is basically the definiton of terminally online and brain broken and he has admitted that.
Because for lots of people his age and older, all you need to do is remember how you used to think about things in the past and how that's changed over the years.
I'm 42 now, and when I was about 25, though not against gay marriage, I still did have the shitty viewpoint to "maybe not call it marriage, specifically." You know, the old terminology... "civil union."
But I didn't know about the exclusions and restrictions that entailed, and was not politically literate at all.
Fast forward to now, and I am far more progressive with each passing year. I wasn't trying to be harmful back then, and was comparatively progressive back then, but wanting to learn helped me shed the bits of bullshit around the edges, for the most part.
It takes time and a _marginal_ bit of effort, and not everyone has gone down that road yet.
I think putting yourself in other's shoes is a learned skill, and just because Hasan is not the average voter I don't think it precludes him from being able to accurately analyze their mindset.

You may be very depersonalized from our proxy wars, that's fine. It's hard to empathize with suffering from across the world. What you should care about, is that it's coming out of your pocket. The taxes you pay could be going into improving your life directly. It could go into better transit, better Healthcare, better education. But it's going to bombs for Ukraine/Gaza. Hasan claims palestine defending itself under international law. I bet that's because he assesses israel's action as genocide. While israel is not doing its part in this to end the conflict, I don't see a consensus on the definition of genocide. In fact I see a divide in the genocide research community and I even read claims that the field of genocide research is in danger itself as a result of partisanship. So do any of you know where hasanabis confidence comes from when he claims israel is in the act of a genocide?
Because what he says is backed by some of the most qualified scholars on the issue is the UN itself, that's why he's so confident.

From my perspective (I'm Jewish), Israel is attacking Palestinian civilians and then attempting to claim their land. Even if Bibi says it's just about Hamas, it is so clearly not, he is wiping out a significant portion of ethnic Palestinians. That to me is textbook genocide. And, genocides can be a response to someone else attacking and still be a genocide. I think Hamas is also genocidal, especially in their goals, acts and messaging. But Israel can be too.
