I met Jim Carrey on a bus in Fairfield, Iowa. He was charming and funny-not overly manic, but he showed hints of it-and talked to everyone on the bus (twice)...at least 30 people in all. I’ll never forget it.
Wow, you are a lucky person.
That’s awesome
Luckiest person on earth
Wow.
so cool!
Conan and Jim in the same room, is so insane... Almost dangerous.
It’s almost irresponsible, but ENTIRELY for our benefit
😆😆
This is what will happen if the unstoppable force meets another unstoppable force!!
Like two cartoons that came to life. ❤
The beaver was my favorite part!!!
Jim Carrey is the only one who can outcrazy Conan
You haven’t seen Eric Andre... You’ll question his and your own sanity and everyone else’s sanity. It’s like an acid trip on tv.
MetalizedButt yeah or Russel Brand
Exactly lol when this two meet the house is on 🔥.
@DanZito the demigod ......what? He’s the last person to be mentioned
I see your Jim Carrey and raise you a Robin Williams and the not related but just as crazy Harland Williams
One of the best things about Carrey is that he never repeats a joke on these interviews. He truly captures the moment and improvise. Like the beaver thing. A master
He reminds me a lot of Robin Williams.
Ahh yes, chewing on the host's desk, just like a beaver would do, a timeless masterclass in comedic improv. 😅😅
@@adamflietstra5492 Absolutely, I thought the same.
You described him perfectly on your podcast: a “creative hurricane”
Abraham C haha totally😂

Jim Carrey and Robin Williams will never be beat on a talk show. Ever.
@@conormcnagger4703 Can't agree with that but he is awesome.
Love em while there still breathing rip Robin
Norm MacDonald has compilations of his appearances on shows. Rodney Dangerfield? There's so many great guest I don't think you can say so and so is the best.
If we were honest, we would say Robin Williams was generally annoying on talk shows.
Martin Short is just as good.
Jim Carrey is one of those guys who's just an all around entertainer. The dude can be funny, dance, act, sing, paint, write. I honestly think there is nothing Jim Carrey can't do better than 90% of humans.
Oh you sure? How about johnny sins
_"there is nothing Jim Carrey can't do better than 90% of humans."_
OK; can he be worse than 90% of the population?
If yes, then prove it. :)
Ka Hate Johnny Sins is the closest thing to Jesus we have tbh so I can’t argue.
I thought he caused his girlfriend to OD and mentally abused multiple women?
Except maybe be likable.
Unbelievable that this was 16 years ago. Embrace time while you can.
BigRobbo it’s crazy to think that I wasn’t alive when this was aired... wild...
I was 2 years old 😐
Time goes by fast!!
16 yrs????? I want to cry!!!
No wonder why they pulled it off. I was thinking it was on the day this video got posted. I especially got thrown off because they were talking about tough times which we are all in right now
*"Been a hard year for you guys with the SARS thing"*
Yeah Jim, it has been a tough year alright.
@Vishal Mishra He's insane now, he's anti-vaccine.
@@al112v4 really? Can you link me your source? I love his work, wouldn't want to be disappointed in his personality
@@al112v4 - Nah, his batty ex Jen McCarthy was anti-vaxx, Jim jumped ship from that mess at least a decade ago. But, hey, you keep on pushing false info, as if the populace couldn't get any dumber. What precisely is YOUR agenda?!
@@MrOuchiez From what I can tell, he was still spouting some pretty anti-vaccine opinions (although he insists he's really 'anti-neurotoxin' 🙄) as recently as 2015. No chews on a desk period. 😂

I can't stop laughing at that. Jim was on fire here!!
One of a few who have earned every bit of their success based on just pure talent and ability
God, the crowd cannot keep silence for one single minute. That's how stellar this man is.
I f*cking love this man. Ace Ventura raised me. Conan is real, love him too, but Carey is daddy LITERALLY.
These two maniacs are always going supernova when they meet each other. Absolutely thrilling to watch.
I adore this man he is my childhood crush and hero. My dad had a bunch of Jim Carrey films on DVD and I'd just watch them over and over. I wasn't allowed to watch Me, Myself and Irene for a while though as I was like 7 at this point😂 I'm now 20 and still in love with his films... he's just such a humble being. I got a canvas one Christmas from my parents of Jim from Dumb and Dumber, it's hanging up in my bedroom and it's my favourite gift ever along with the Jim Carrey t-shirts. Just an absolutey amazing guy and wish I could meet him one day. I'll be very upset when he passes as I've grew up watching him 😭❤
Funny, you're my childhood crush and I'm 30
Plus he paints impressively well, who would've imagined that? Remarkable talent. Also, hes' one of the few true improvisers of comedy, who can really be spontaneously hilarious at every interview often in totally unplanned ways. And although his phisical comedy tend to get the most attention, he's also very often super clever with his choice of words.
Wow some much to see by Jim
I totally agree with you!! I was 11 when Ace Ventura, the mask and dumb and dumber all came out the same year in 94 and Jim was the biggest star in the world then!!! There will never be another one like him ever!!!
I got tingles of excitement when Conan first mentioned Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Conan you're the best that The Television has given to the world in the form of a TV host. ❤️My 7year old brother loves you too.
My 6 year old sister hates Conan but loves babaghunush.
I love Conan myself. She obviously knows Jim Carrey to. You wonder how both of them can just shake off any hate that comes their way. Which is hate that nobody notices. These guys are happy and everyone else that sees them... are happy people also. Everybody here is happy including people's daughters.

He's indeed the funniest host . What sets him apart from others is his intelligence right ? Witty guy . He's is today's letterman . Dusre utne ache nai hai

the one thing I will always remember is that Conan cared enough to do a week in Toronto - risking his ratings but knew it would be comedy gold - One of the most "real" late night personalities - see you on HBO !
I used to dislike Conan and somewhere I came around and genuinely respect him and also enjoy his humour.
Great bit by the way.

I wanna high five jim Carrey because he's crazy cool
I wanna high-foot him like that lucky fan in the intro xD
You've got the crazy part right, that's for sure (Kidding)
It's crazy how Conan always had the same exact personality
Yeah the complete opposite of jimmy fallon
It reached a point where jimmy Carrey is now underrated! 👏🏻💫
How after all these years I’ve never known Jim Carrey was Canadian...
So is Martin Short, Norm MacDonald and Mike Myers. Some of the most unique funny people in entertainment who created their own quirky hilarious universe.
Wow. Really?
Lol me neither
Ok
Michael J. Fox....Rick Moranis....
2023 and I thought I had sen everything with Jim and then I randomly stumbled upon this gem😅
Fun Fact: Jim Carrey missed out on a couple of Oscar nominations because he never campaigned for one.
I'm the only judge of movies that I care about. in my book, Jim Carrey is a winner!
Man in the moon?
his interviews are as great as his movies, he’s a real life cartoon character haha
2 legends at same spot... timeless
What's amazing is that Conan made the joke on the baldness and Jim immediately picked up on it. They truly are comedic geniuses
You do realize that it’s rehearsed right
@@pazconwaysson6785 they don’t always have time to do that depending on the guest and when they arrive, but ya in this case you’re probably right lol 😂 these two known each other for years before this. Probably easy for em lol

Who knew in his later years he’d be known as Mr. Worldwide
LMAO
This is less of an interview and more a stage show. 😂 Refreshing to see Jim before he got all serious and philosophical. Hard to believe he's 62 now so I suppose he's allowed to slow down a bit. Absolute legend in entertainment.
Understand, Jim Carrey is doing all of this to make other people feel good. Ty man.
Americans don't need the "kidding face". We just insult our work mates and friends, with the "very serious" face and they just get it.
Jim Carrey is the definition of loving the passion.
Yes really
Fantastic episode. Two comedic greats riffing off each other.
finally a guest that has the same energy as conan lmao it almost seem like jimmy is foreshadowing conan somehow
I love when they do these uploads of old clips. And they give the date in the description
Also digitally remasters the old clips.
The kidding face is like Naurdwar.
Well, he's Canadian too so..lol
The two greatest comedic minds of their generation and possibly two of the greatest ever in the same room in their finest element with nothing but respect and admiration for each other. What a treat
Jim Carrey and Conna O'Brian energy matches their crazy sense of humor 😂
Hearing the first three notes of the hockey night in Canada song on repeat without it being finished is enough to give any Canadian a stroke.
None of us searched for this but gosh darn it we definitely needed it
Conan is an amazing host! Jim is a legend!
Imagine if JIM CAREY was "joker"
In the movie joker
Just watch batman forever lol his riddler was just the joker for the most part
Maybe he would be a perfect riddler than joker.
There is a deep fake of it check it out !

He is already a riddler
not gonna lie; that beaver impression was fire
Making something great out of absolutely nothing = Jim Carrey.
Jim carrey and conan are my fav people in their respective field.🥰🥰
Same here 😊
Watched this in 1.75x speed. Greatest 5 minutes of my life.
This is pure gold, I can't believe this wasn't already on Conan's channel...
Why haven't Jim Carrey and Conan O'Brien ever done a buddy film together
It will be insane.love those two🥰🥰
Probably because Conan doesn’t do movies?.. 🤷🏼♂️
Excellent idea
the whole kidding face dialog made me cry laugh so hard 😭😭
Wow, 2 of the greatest comedians sharing the same screen.👍🏿
Jim Carrey is a dynamo of energy and charisma. There is no one like him.
The American Citizenship part was gold. He fooled everyone and then have that kind of reaction showing his pride to be from Canada. Epic Jim Carrey. Conan got terrified for a bit with too much funny racy nonsense.
Funnily enough, he got US citizenship that same year!
My old therapist was from Windsor Ontario. Former psychology professor and jazz bassist who retired at 90 and died at 92.
Jim gave me so much joy with his movies.
Jim Carrey and Conan O'Brien together is like two twins in a movie and you're not quite sure which one is the evil one and which one is the good one 😂
The way he offered that one audience member his foot to shake, LOL!
Crazy how this aired in 2004 and Jim brought up SARS.
I cant believe he was already 42 here. He looks young as hell in this clip.
42 is young.
@@roelvinckens5553 Its middle aged but I wouldn't say young.
And pestilence
Ya search one Jim Carrey video and all of a sudden you are 20 videos deep and can’t stop. Jim is a seriously unique mind. A genius in his own right. This performance and the one he did on Jay Leno were legendary.
Jim Carrey needs a 'Late Night' show and definitely brings Conan on regularly. These two are great together when they hook up!
His mom must have been like, “wow this ones got a ton of energy” his teacher must have been like “wow, this one doesn’t shut up” haha I love it
How can someone bring a smile to my face by just walking out 😂😂😂🙌🙌🙌
Never heard that Ontario song even though I'm from Toronto and now its stuck in my head. Love it.
Of all the actual conversation topics they could've got into, they both committed to 11 minutes of sheer silliness. What a duo 🤩
Audience member: "Kick his ass Jim!!"
Me: "That's not very Canadian."
"Kick his ass sea-bass"
It is a Canadian thing to say if it's a hockey game ;)
I miss this side of Jim Carrey. That man has been through a lot though (like many of us). It's really changed him but I hope maybe one day he can get back in touch with that inner child again.
Jim carrey and conan , the most deadliest comedy duo.
His intro was just the first five chords of Hockey Night In Canada over and over. I guess they didn't want to pay for the full song 😂😉
good call!
People probably have only known of the Jim Carrey of the last 10 years or so but don't know Jim Carrey from the 80s through the mid-2000s was always wild and energetic in talk show interviews.
Jim turns it on when he wants to- it's not coke. His interviews on Howard Stern and Charlie Rose present a more toned-down version of himself.
I mean he is an actor, it’s all an act haha
Was he actually bald at the time?
Jim Carrey was a massive star in the 90s worldwide though
I’ve been watching Jim in one form or another since the mid-80’s myself! When I was a child in the 80’s one of my favorite movies to watch was “Once Bitten”, in which he was the main character, circa 1985! That was my introduction to him. Then I thoroughly enjoyed him in In Living Color in the early 90’s. He was the reason I started watching that show in their first season, because I knew him so well from that movie. Then Ace Ventura came out in 94, and the rest is history! 😁
What are you talking about? Ace Ventura skyrocketed his career and came out 26 years ago. Most people have known who Jim Carrey is for almost 3 decades.
This guy might be the definition of comedy. Everything on the rythm. That's very impressive.
Jim is so talented, quick-witted, and amazing!
Omg, finally a better quality! Love this interview!
Love Jim Carrey omg my absolute favorite 💗
It's just so over the top 😂 you're a legend Jim.
his energy is next level
I always feel that these two are estranged siblings...
The SARS thing just became a whole new and darker SARS THING. This video is from 2004, wtf is going to happen in the next one, presumably 2036?
Outbreaks such actually should be far more common than they are, the last SARS outbreak was less impactful because international travel was less ubiquitous, and as such was largely confined to China, where intranational travel was also less prevalent (they know have very cheap high speed rail).
Many pathologist's are surprised this hasn't happened far more often with viral threats emerging all over the world. We are very lucky to have only had minor threats, though the fear mongering surrounding them has shown each one to apocalyptic in scale for various reasons.
In fact with very basic effective control taken early on this outbreak wouldn't be a problem, nor would most outbreaks. Unfortunately government incompetence makes this threat much worse than it should be, which is the most terrifying aspect of this for me. This is a practice run, one we are failing magnificently.
@@AveSicarius So easy to blame vague government incompetence when you're a citizen responsible for nothing. Viruses spread, nothing is responsible.
He's eating a passport 😂
@@incentiveeee
Vague government? I can name specific individuals who have failed in their position. I have spent the last 7 years in the biological sciences, I know very much about pathology and pathological control, and it's easy to take personal preventative measures based on that.
Want to know something interesting? The advisors for several governments who have notoriously failed during this time have all been far more educated than I, are far more qualified than to recommend solutions than I, and they suggested barriers to international transport and quarantine of infected areas before the virus spread throughout the whole population, they were ignored, and as a result several hundred thousand people are dead. Are you telling me Trump, Boris Johnson, the Italian government, the Swedish government, and so on have succeeded at their position when people have died through their negligence.
You can easily stop viral spread through several methods, the most effective of which is a strict quarantine. They aren't some mystical force of nature that spreads by itself across the entire planet, it needs to be facilitated through personal contact and inter/intranational travel both of which are easily regulated if you take steps to do so.
Greece, China, and many other nations took more strict stances on quarantine, and what do you know far less people per million died.
Take a look at the mortality ratio between Greece and Switzerland, both very similar in population size and geographic dispersion, note that Sweden has over 20x the fatalities while also have near perfect conditions for PREVENTING viral spread due to their lifestyle, then tell me that the respective governments are not responsible for this based on their approaches.
I guess the coming economic recession, deluge of unemployment, and growing economic concerns are not the fault of certain nations governments either, right?
I feel like he and robin williams are the human versions of cocaine
Because they were both colossal coke heads?
