Finally a video about the CP35 that doesn't have potato audio! I've always wondered what it sounded like!
Though as for the Hall and Oates usage, I think that was the CP-30, as that's what it shows in the actual music video and it sounds more like the 30 to my ears. (I could be totally wrong though)

Love this and the CP25 more than the CP20 and CP30 tbh.
    Much more usable sounds.

I was never a fan of the piano sound on the CP-30. Yamaha made some improvements with the 35.

I used to gig with a CP-30... Super Heavy, but worth it. The fulcrum set back into the body makes the keys feel like a real piano.

  • @russellhooke9791

Gigged with the CP30 with a Vox Jaguar organ sitting on the top. (Had to make a Dexion gantry to hold up the rear overhang)
The CP30 felt great to play but sounded terrible. Heavy but as a 20 year old that was ok but I did replace it with an Arp 4 voice piano. A maligned model but I loved it. It sounded better and although large it was a lot lighter but with a larger flat top for fitting second keyboard.
This CP35 does sound better than the CP30 though.

Interesting how close they came to that Fender Rhodes kind of sound. Not that the flanger effect sounds bad...but why they didn't use the ensemble effect from the GS2 or the SK range on that machine is above me.

Has Syntaur considered making boutique synths? It seems to me that the components have come way down in price, and in the hands of people who know what they're doing, it might be lucrative.

As I understand, a CP-30 was used on "Kiss On My List" - one of my all time favorite keyboard sounds, whatever it was. Any chance a CP-35 can sound like that?

I dunno... I am sure I am in the minority thinking the CP30 sounds better. It has the weird, haunting electronic piano sound which is truly unique whereas this one sounds like Yamaha was really trying to emulate the traditional Clavinet/Rhodes/Pianet sounds and kinda nailed it.

May I ask, what do you think the song, of that mysterious internet 80s song,
What synth does it use, it sounds like a dx7, but has some weird vibro effects.
The resonance sounds like it it would of been made from the dx7 flute preset or the prophet-5.

Hi, does anyone know what is the exact weight of this piano? I have a crazy affordable offer, but it seems too heavy to move and carry to my my appartment (I'm on 2nd floor). It is announced to be around 50kg on the website, but the seller told me it was not that heavy. Since I live alone, probably I'll have to move it by myself if needed. So I just want to confirm wether it is possible for 1 person to handle with the weight?
