I really missed h2o on the list :( it's one of the most iconic teen shows in my country (and I mean it!). everyone knows the theme song, the picture pose, the play pretend to be a mermaid when you got into a pool or into the ocean, the iconic swim! I really missed being a kid pretending to have powers over water 😅
The OC is the best teen drama ever, I love the characters and the show has such a "feel good" vibe

Mischa Barton didn’t want to continue with the show, she didn’t renew the contract so the directors decided to kill the character. Terrible idea imo. It would have been better if the character just decided to leave after all the trauma that environment caused her, it would have made sense in within the show but of course the death was lot more dramatic.

Vampire Diaries is SO GOOD. Rewatched it probably 5 times. Highly highly recommend! Love triangles, drama, twists and turns. So good ugh!
favorite ship? Least favorite? I will say mine for funzies. If I got my perfect pairings: Damon/Elena, Stefan/Katherine, Matt/Rebecca, Jeremy/Anna, Bonnie/Enzo, Klaus/Caroline (before he goes to the originals cause Camille is HIS SOUL MATE- fight me on this lol). I would rather Stefan & Elena stay together than have Klaus not be endgame with Camille (I'm still butt hurt over this lol - they killed her off after like three episodes of being a Vampire- the POTENTIAL). Okay. Ones I don't care about? Stefan & Caroline and really anything to do with Caroline lol she can have Tyler I don't like him either. Rebecca & Marcel but now we are getting into the Originals. I guess they are linked. I loved Davina/Kol. Didn't care about Elijah & Hayley.

i feel the same about One Tree Hill, it was my first teen show and it was iconic. i remember i first watched it because my cousin said it's similiar to high school musical (i guess only because of the basketball) but bless her! i think about rewatching it for the 1000th time, especially now with Drama Queen podcats

I only watched Vampire diaries like a year ago, and OMG you need to watch, it's sooo addictive and I usually don't prefer supernatural shows over the classic high school drama. Also back in the day I LOVED the new 90210 (I might go back and watch it again 🤔)
YES to both. I started TVD during season 4 when Elena became a vampire which was freshman year of high school and let me tell you the show was everything. Before the Originals left. And 90210 was great cause of Naomi.

I started watching it Jan 2021. During season 2 I became addicted. S3 and 6 will always be my favorite seasons. I watched all 8 seasons in under a month. I kind of skimmed through seasons 5 and 7 tho because they were kinda boring to me. Especially 7.
BUFFY BEFORE ANYTHING. Dawson's Creek is a must as well - both feel more like 90's shows to me but still iconic. Misfits is also REALLY good - for the first couple seasons (the first cast is the best). Teen Wolf is also necessary just because of Dylan's performance. He's incredible.
I watched the first Ep of Euphoria and couldn't keep going... I'm 30 now and thinking that is what teens are watching scares me. I think I felt the same the first time I watched Skins - but I was in college so it wasn't as big of a shock and I think Skins is much more tame.
MAJOR props for putting Summerland in God Tier - that's where it belongs.
I basically never turn Gilmore Girls off. I probably watch an episode every day at some point or another.

This makes me want to rewatch the Carrie Diaries, I was OBSESSED and I remember my teen self crying my eyes out when it got cancelled after season 2 and it ending on a cliffhanger

The Secret Life of an American Teenager is probably one of the few shows I couldn't finish. I don't think I got past season 3, I had to quit, it annoyed me so much.

Secret life had such a good first season I agree with you I stopped watching once Adrian got pregnant it gets so bad. The show is so bad bad in later seasons people ignore how good the first season and half was so good
dawson's creek has always been one of my favorite shows. i'd call it more of a melodrama or teen soap - so a little more "serious" than some of the other shows on the list. really leans into feelings and talking about them, but it laid the groundwork for most of the other shows on here that came after it. and while it is certainly over dramatic, it's pretty self aware and makes fun of itself at the same time. also a really great escapism show imo. it has its highs and lows but if you're a fan of teen dramas, i think it's criminal to not at least give it a shot.

Smallville is BY FAR the best DC show to ever exist. The slow burn of Lex Luthor beginning as a sympathetic character and then just gradually descending into the menace he becomes over the course of 10 seasons is the best villain origin story hands down. His father has a similar redemption arc to Dan Scott. Highly recommend watching. Also, I'm so glad to see someone giving One Tree Hill the appreciation it deserves. One of the best shows of all time, and I still tune in to the Drama Queens podcast every week because I'm OBSESSED

teen wolf is simultaneously the worst and best television from the 2010s, also the cgi on that show was a literal crime against humanity but stiles (dylan o'brien's character) was the best part of the whole thing and (no spoilers) ESPECIALLY SEASON 3B!!! dylan acted his o'brussy off
I've watched shows that are objectively better than teen wolf yet I always find myself only rewatching teen wolf. And yeah dylan o brien is definitely the main reason why. Season 3 is genuinely top tier tv

I'm so sorry but Skins is an actual masterpiece, did they tackle dark subjects ? Yes but that's not necessarily a bad thing because there are teenagers who are dealing with that stuff especially in Europe and no it doesn't glorify anything, the characters suffer from the consequences of their actions but the acting is amazing, the writing is A tier and it's a great show overall.

I loved the show so much, but it did have a bad impact on lots of teens. I mean, Effy was the real first pandemic, everybody wanted to be messy like her (myself included). I remember lots of friends trying heavy drugs for the first time because of the show and I actually know someone who battles addiction to this day because of those times. Thankfully, I just ended up drinking a lot, like a lot a LOT, luckily it never became a dependecy tho. But yeah, I still love the show a lot, I have a lot of nostalgia about it, but you can't say it didn't fuck up a lot of kids.

Gilmore girls and OTH are by far the best 2000s shows ever. Gilmore girls really fire started so many peoples careers and ahhhh. I just love them both so much. They have shaped me as a person. And I 100% feel you about KS. I feel like he was my family who passed and it hurts to even think about that scene. Like his acting was 👌

The OC is the best show ever for teenagers and also for the parents. My mom and I have rewatched it together several times. It's bloody amazing.
I am SO happy OTH got the love it deserves! Watched every single episode as it aired and I will forever be grateful that I was just barely old enough to watch it. It shaped me. Episode 3x16 changed me. This show is everything. Also the Drama Queens Podcast is ICONIC.

i’m so happy PLL is the first show mentioned bc for me it truly was the first teen show i watched when coming of age that then transitioned me into watching the other teen tv dramas. While being my favorite show, i absolutely acknowledge its severe flaws. Also i’m so fkn proud to say that from day one i have been a Haleb stan!! They are seriously my favorite couple! and i have always believed Hanna, Caleb, & hanna’s mom Ashley were the absolute superior characters of the show!! Their personalities & relationships w/ each other were seriously perfect!! i’m just so happy that you have come to the same conclusion 🥰 Normally i think i find myself gravitating towards characters i’m similar to but in PLL this actually wasn’t the case. As people, i would say irl i’m an Aria which is why i still liked her as herself. sadly i’m not like Hanna even tho i really wish i was, but I think that’s why as a character, Hanna was my favorite!! 💗

OC’s third season finale was shocking, I really admire a show that can do the unexpected and Summer was a great character.. she was a bit of an airhead at first but was not a dumb girl, and her and Seth’s relationship was adorable. Vampire diaries is quite good but The Originals is so much better, and I know Gossip Girl is flawed but it remains my favorite show. Can’t help it, Blair was too iconic.

Oh my God, you can't even imagine how much I adore pll, that show is my life, I've seen it 5 times and now I'm rewatching . I know it's chaotic, it has many plot holes and it is pretty confusing but I still love it so much because of their friendship, the mystery plot and the drama. I've looked everything up , theories etc and I understood it so much better.
Hanna is definitely the best character, also Caleb is second for sure. I also love Toby. I totally agree with everything you said about Ezra, Aria , her parents, Alison, Spencer's / Melissa's "boyfriends" and Paige.

I love the OC in middle school. I met Adam Brody in 2019, at an interview, he has not changed. High school was glee!! Once I saw the pilot, I was hooked!! I also asked Kristen Chenoweth what was her favorite song to sing on glee, she said House Is Not A Home. Also Once upon a time 2011, still obsessed.
