I had the privilege of meeting Dermot last month. And i can honestly say, he was one of the nicest people i have ever met. Very genuine and took time to joke and spend time with my kids. It meant alot. ❤

I say this as someone who loves laughter even if it's coming from a stranger across the room. That said, AM's laughter is so off putting to the point she seems almost deranged.

Dermot was great in all those girl movies of the 90's though! In addition to Bad Girls, he was in How to Make an American Quilt with Winona Ryder and of course the Julia Roberts classic My Best Friend's Wedding!

Of course there were some people who cared for her, but she wasn't taken care of by the people who were actually supposed to take care of her. Otherwise her childhood wouldn't have been so screwed up. It wasn't an easy road, and I will forever be in awe that she turned out the way she did.

This is the story I’ve made up in my mind but it makes sense lol! Hear me out..I feel like 17 year old drew did not know how to genuinely connect w/people, especially men - without it being about sex/ partying and maybe “flirted/ pursued” Dermot, who was/is a dreamboat. But being a stand up guy at 30 y/o recognized that Drew was a kid that needed to be taken care of and didn’t take advantage of her. Told her she’s worth way more and that entered a genuine friendship with her based on love and respect.
Her reaction alone to seeing him speaks volumes. I say this with just my observation as someone who has loved them both since the 90’s.

2:44 I accept that challenge. When I think of 90s female-led movies, I immediately think of Fried Green Tomatoes, (starring Mary Stuart Masterson, Mary-Louise Parker, Kathy Bates, and Jessica Tandy).
She’s sitting RIGHT THERE, Dermot. 😂 That had to have gone through her mind. And it came out a few years before this movie.
There’s also Set it Off (Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett, Vivica A Fox, Kimberly Elise)… The Craft (Fairuza Balk, Neve Campbell, +2.), Clueless, Thelma & Louise, Girl Interrupted, the Joy Luck Club, A League of Their Own, Boys on the Side, Single White Female, etc. etc.
The 90s had a LOT of female led movies.

Nothing against her but MacDowell’s awkward laughter made me feel uncomfy. Thank the Lord for Drew’s secret guardian angels through the years though. Dermot’s “I can’t believe I’m seeing you” made me cry right along side them. Bringing her a tissue and calling her a survivor?? Dermot is PEAK supporter.
She has a similar relationship with Keanu Reeves. Also Andie to me is always awkward lol

A die was just loud is all. When I play videos of my mother her laugh is overpowering over everyone. It just is her. I’m sue her family has loads of her laughing that way. It’s just her is all.
None of them got along with Madeleine Stowe back then and I guess nothing has changed. I remember when this movie came out and Drew threw some shade at Madeleine in a couple different interviews (she named her as the co-star she'd least want to run into in a dark alley and clearly went out of her way to not mention Stowe when complimenting everyone else individually)...and I remember MS in an interview saying she didn't think the other women liked how much she "cared about the work" 🙄 Doesn't seem like Madeleine makes friends with too many co-stars. Its funny to see them talk about the movie now because it was a notoriously difficult shoot that was suspended after 2 weeks & the original director fired (which was said to be due to no support from the producers and the constant complaints from one actress to the studio). Drew was already signed up for Boys On The Side when she filmed Bad Girls and she tried pulling out of the movie because she had a horrible experience shooting Bad Girls and wasn't willing for a repeat making another female ensemble - but Herbert Ross wouldn't let her and it ended up being one of her best experiences making a movie.

Miss Stowe's absence is attributed to the fact that when Bad Girls was filming, she didn't make a positive atmosphere for her co-stars.
Later on, they themselves responded back with not so pleasant feedback on her demoralizing attitude.
It's quite apparent that Madeline not being there shows that maybe she's disowned the film as well as put faraway distance from it altogether.

She didn't show up because she had an acidic attitude during filming and the other cast members couldn't stand working with her because of her lack of benevolence.
Her absence presents the bitterness is still fresh between all of them unfortunately.

Also, I'll name some female empowerment movies from the mid 90s besides that 1 Drew was in...league of their own, sister act, Thelma and Louise, death becomes her, and several others but it's a longish list, and that's just the early 90s... There were tons in the 80s too, and the 70s...so does he even work in Hollywood to not know movie history at all? He seems like a nice guy, but dang I am tired of this show just making stuff up. Good lord.

Andie is going a little overboard with the laughing. It really was overbearing. It drowned out the real emotions of the moment by the forced nature of the laugh.
