PLEASE
Loki decided to ice skate to express his comeback.
i kid u not i was abt to link this to a group chat saying the exact same thing im so upset
Ok thatâs exactly what I was thinking. Especially from the cover
To a song called "My Way" đđđđ
He does look remarkably like Loki, though.

This is what I miss about Olympic figure skating. I couldnât care less about how many quads someone can land in a routine. I want to see artists showing their soles on the ice because they love it and find joy in the beauty they can create.
Watch the gala instead of the competition. You'll definitely get that artistry you miss. (:
He was so off the planet fantastic. đ„đâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž
This is the gala exhibition at the end, where the skaters get to do whatever they want. The actual competition has required elements that everyone must do so they can judge everyone on the same basis. But I get what you're saying
@@angelwings7930 absolutely, he's an amazing athlete, and brilliant artist!! đ
@@theshillneckedlizard8364 yes, but the changes in the required elements (for example the atrocious decision to eliminate the spiral sequences), push skaters to focus more on making it a jumping contest. It's called figure skating.
Loki on the ice
Ser HAGSGAUSHS YES.
Is that the actual actor?!
Ser hahah true
I think the same ! hahaha
Famouxly Tame Sorry but no.
So this is what the god of mischief's midlife crisis looks like...

@@fancydeer It's a Loki reference
Loki: Prince of Jotunheim and Skate
I see it toođđ
Yep
if you pay attention to his movements, he's more of a "princess" than "prince"....
i mean, he's a frost giant, so being able to ice skate kinda makes sense
Johnny's always been close to our hearts especially when he was struggling . Must always remember folks that every step, movement ,jump, spin...... Is a pure heart beat to a skater and to put it aside is like losing a piece of yourself how do you redefine the core of your self .his gift is to invite you in and tell you his story through every movement and gesture. He is unfinished do bloody good on him for trying to open people's hearts. He'll always be one of the best skaters you'll ever see, unique in his own way
O did it my wayyyyyy, â€ïžđș Sharon
He is now on a Netflix serie called spinning out and he's just marvelous
He's on dancing with the stars right now too
Which part was he on spinning out ?
Thanks . I'll have to watch that. I love him!
@@alyshakelley403 first season mean pairs skater
@@blackcanary4222 Did a new season of Dancing with the Stars start yet? When will it start? Johnny just got done with commentating for the Olympics. How did he have time to practice dancing? I met Johnny back stage after Champions on Ice performed in 2006. He's quite flashy. I think he had red shoes on.
Wow, he is so fluid in his movements, just beautiful! Like silk.
Yes. Like water.
Check out his Unchained Melody program
I thought Yuzuru Hanyu is good. But Johhny Weir is God on ice, masterpiece in every move.
@@dorothylim3433 Don't talk foolishly but he is the world's best skater.
He makes it look so easy, but I know it's not. â„ïž
Johnny always understood figure skating isn't just a sport. It's a show, and he's a showman.
This is what I miss about ice skating just pure artistry I donât want to see five quadruples I want to see beautiful skatingâŁïž
That should be shouted from the rooftops! The audience for the most part can't tell loop from a salchow, must less count the revolutions.
@@biff5856 yes, I think it's time they split singles skating like they did pairs -- have athletic skating with all the jumps, and have artistic skating where there is a limit on jumps, so they have time to actually do something interpretive.
100%. Like here. Not a jump until it fit the music. It was a buildup to it and then dazzle! Now days half the time nothing they do fits the music and it is so technical and just checking boxes.
@@sherylpockrose4029 you probably are aware of this, but in tests there is a solo dance category. Maybe someday it will be part of elite competition.
Sheryl Pockrose I was thinking the same think the other day but weâll I must say the they need to made a change soonâŠ
This is one of my favorite performances of his by far. And with his hair styled like this he looks like Tom Hiddleston's Loki and I love it XD
Yo llegue aquĂ gracias a su comparaciĂłn con el Dios de Tom Hiddleston y me enamore, ÂĄMe encanta!
Still one of my favorite skaters. He's never brought a boring choreography to me, always so satisfying to watch :) He's just so graceful, like he blends in with the ice
hey weeeebbbbb!!!!!
â„ïžâ„ïžâ„ïžâ„ïž
This is the best I've ever seen a figure skating routine match up to the music. He pays attention to every beat, change in rhythm, and build in intensity. Wonderful artistry.
If you haven't already, access some footage from Gordeeva and Grinkgov pairs routines, Kurt Browning's Casablanca, '94 or 96 worlds short program of Michelle Kwans, and Christie Yamaguchi's Olympic gold programs. This wasn't competition but Katya Gordeeva's Reflejo de Luna was out of this world.
Gen-Z Hippie, yes, Johnny's musicality is unparalleled. He's one with the music đ
@@biff5856 I love G&G...what memories...
I miss the musicality that used to be in figure skating. Johnny's skating creates a narrative to fit the music so beautifully. Its not just elements being performed while music plays.
Thatâs still a thing now-a-days. I mean just look at Tuktamysheva. Nvm I see your point, she didnât even get to go to the Olympic.
His beauty is beyond the time and genders.

Poetry in motion. Trite but heartfelt and Iâm a conservative.

This song just so perfectly encapsulates everything Johnny was as a competitive skater. Stunning
Johnny took the time to plan out his routine with such an emphasis on beauty. I've watched this ten times if I've seen it once. I love his beautiful fresh face at the end. Like many other people he actually looks better without makeup but try telling him that. Love him.
I love Johnnyâs artistry. He is so elegant! I donât even need the jumps to enjoy his skating.
Iâve been binge watching figure skating videos coz itâs the Winter Olympics, and this performance was probably one of the most touching performances Iâve ever seen
Check out Johnny skating to Unchained Melody, and also Ave Maria..
That backward skate on one foot, then switches his hold on the skate to the other hand, while still in backward motionâŠ..flippin amazing!
And he makes it look so easy, too..phenomenal athlete and amazing artist!!
Who else thought this person looked like Loki?
SkeleGirl_857 he is not person he is a god among men
I was four when he did this.......
My mom just told me that I saw this performance on tv when it actually happened and apparently I said âmommy that man is so prettyâ......... I still think that man is so pretty
He's gorgeous. And his skating is always the perfect mix of athleticism and artistry.
I also love how all his moves go with the lyrics of the song. This performance is like telling a story which makes it even more meaningful and mesmerizing :) and the song choice is so perfect for him also because all his life no matter what people told him he still lived his life "his way" and followed his dreams :)
I agree. Very talented.
So please with the comment section... Loki was all that was going through my head during this!!! So much talent tho omg

most important true to himself. thankyou Johnny for teaching me.
Iâm here after being sad that he got eliminated from âDancing With The Starsâ. Heâs a joy to watch :â)
I just love Johnny Weir. His performances are so emotional and electrifying. There are few skaters that are as compelling to watch.
When I'm good I'm good, when I'm bad, I'm better. The best, Johnny Weir
Watching this, I can see why Johnny was one of Yuzuruâs favorite figure skaters growing up.
That was just beautiful! I forgot what a beautiful skater he really was!
I love him doing the commentary with Tara Lipsinski. I met him and he is such a great guy!
The most beautiful thing ive seen on youtube
Really ? that's all you see ??? That's just sad. You can't see beauty when it's right in front of you.. He is poetry in motion. So what if he likes guys ? Big deal.
He really captures the song with his movement. So graceful and elegant. Love his style. He skates with soul.
What a stunning, understated but powerful skate. Perfection.
My favorite Johnny Weir performance, so much is said, in such beauty
2006 olympics not 2016. ;) love me some Johnny! One of my most favorite skaters of all time. Him and Sasha Cohen. They take ice skating back to its roots of being an ARTISTIC sport and not just all technicals.
+Maria Espino Well spotted. Fixed now
Yes..... they both skate like Gordeeva & Gringkov always did.....with all of their beauty and artistry
Also look up Jason Brown and his Riverdance on ice, THAT guy knows how to entertain! ;-)
Yes, and I would add Mariah Bell to the list for absolutely impeccable musicality.
It is really a rare gift to become one with the music.
@@kimberlybellefontaine1215 G&G ...such beautiful memories!! đ
I love that he picked a song with lyrics, I think it adds so much more to the performance. I wish more figure skaters would do that.
This is one of my favorite figure skating performances EVER. So breathtaking!
My only question is...How do ice skaters not get dizzy?
TheNotSmartAsian i was thinking the same thing lol
I suppose they get used to the spinning eventually and their bodies adapt after so much practice
Watch how he spins....he counters the dizziness by going the opposite direction every few different moved. Itâs like wrapping a rope around your finger then unwrapping it
Elizabeth R Well, that's not how it works here. Ballet's spins are waaaaaaay slower than skate's ones. I mean, you could do it; but if you want speed, you can't. So you just look at nothing and get used to it.
When you skate, are in something pretty constant (Sorry, idk. Like... A whole Coreo is just one thing) you don't stop, so don't really have time to feel dizzy. I mean... When you finish a spin, just gotta close your eyes, open them again and ever keep going.
By the way, even if someone is feeling some bad, no one is going to stop after a spin, that would be pretty dumb, jajaja Stoping could make it worse. Even if you are doing just spins and not a coreo.
(Sorry for my english)

Our beautiful prince of the ice :)
This is the quality content I signed up for. This was a gorgeous performance.
That was absolutely captivating, gotta love Johnny!
Aquarica t
Johnny Weir alway looked like the only skater who was having fun, no matter where he was or how big the stage. He didn't need to be the most powerful to be an amazing skater.
So beautiful, is just so freaking beautiful. Everytime I watch this I end up completely captivated by him. As others have said it before, this is a perfect song for Johnny as a skater â€ïž
For some reason Iâve watched this like 10 times I just love it the music is so good and he moves to the music so well.
That performance was absolutely Breathtaking and BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!! đ„âžđđđđđđđđđđđđđđ
Johnny, WE ADORE YOU!! You are an American ICON.
He did it his way - kudos to him.
Incredible Johnny weir! Speed, artistry, originality...He deserved a medal in Vancouver...
It's Loki!
Johnny, your performance here is just exquisite! You gave my chills and brought tears to my eyes. BRAVO
recently got into Johnny and he never fails to bring everything to a routine but this is next level stunning, literally drew me to tears, the song combines with the emotion coming through this is unreal. Wow...
Artistically unmatched.
This was something special...wonderful skater.
Johnny weir and Toller Cranston, mavericks of figure skating. They certainly did it their wayđđ
He was so underrated at the Olympics. Im a huge fan. Hes a great skater.
His musicality is superb!! đ
When he was skating in world competitions, I remember, I was always waiting the most for his performances as he was the most creative and so incredibly adorable:))
He owns this song on the ice, love him â€
Johnny has always been my favorite skater.
Linda Kennedy and do
Frank and Johnny. What a perfect combination of elegance, class, and artisticism. Artisticness? Artistry!!! That's it. Love everything about this performance. Johnny, I miss those days when you were competing. You were always someone I looked forward to watching and I really miss seeing you skate. It was always an adventure.
Pure magic. Thank you Johnny Weir!
I can feel his passion just watching him skateđ±â€ïž
This moved me to tears
I wish I could tell him at that time that things may seem awful now but wait a little bit, everything will clear up and you'll be a legend and an inspiration not only to me but hundreds of people
Perfectly stated.
And this skating was perfect!!
God, he just... Inspires pure perfection with every movement he does. đâšđđ

He really is beautiful . How could you disagree ? Takes courage to go your own path . I admire that . He is magical on the I've . And he moves to some of my favorite songs .

He truly did a great job! Great performer!
As someone who knows nothing about skating it very much feels like Olympic skaters tailor their performance to strategically complete jumps and tricks where they can get the most points. It feels like they coordinate their artistic elements around the jumps, but when Johnny gets on the ice he skates he like there is no one else in the room. Its as if he is embracing the artistry of the music that incorporates jumps. It doesn't feel forced. I find it much more enjoyable to watch.
One of the best Olympic galas' performances. Till now.
He had beautiful spins.
NO ONE CAN INTERPRET MUSIC MORE BEAUTIFULLY THAN JOHNNY WEIR!!!!!â€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž
Great song choice for him!
Beautiful Performance. Congratulations to Johnny. đđđ
This popped up on my recommended list now in 2022. Today, it is technical proficiency over sheer beauty. This wonderful performance has both. I think Johnny Weir is the best skating announcer in the business. Unfortunately, he makes the show about himself often as much as the show is about the contestants. If you overlook that and just listen to his commentary, he excels. Both he and Tara Lipinski are an added benefit of competitive skating. I appreciate what they do.
So beyond any other! Watching him do his art is spectacular!
What a maverick

Love Johnny. Hes not just a skater, hes an artist.
This was nothing short of perfection.

I am so glad that I found who Johnny Weir is! It is the best thing to watch him skate and follow his persona on social media, I'm loving him with purest type of love. I wish he could stay young forever and skate beautifully for sake of us all
he truly projected the song so well
pure perfection!
This is such a beautiful, lyrical, intentional expression of this song. The way he accentuates the words with his arms and hands, and his whole body movements. Heâs an artist.
Just pure artistic and technical beauty!!!
I don't know anything about Ice Skating but his performances are the only ones that give me goosebumps every time, his choreographies are beautiful, he expresses so much emotion through them, I'm blown away
What a beautiful performance! When you forget is a competition and just enjoy what you are seeing!
