the problem with Rahman songs is that u need to hear them without the distractions initially and the. see the Visuals..he packs so much into a song..that u miss so many nuances.. just an example..the transition from a peppy number into a high energy portion when prabhu enters .. the transition isn't easy to make without making it sound awkward.. the gana or the kuthu style as it is known requires u to go bonkers on the percussions..but yet he managed to get the balance with the sound of the organ in between .. it's very tough to notice all that with the visuals distracting u..this and almost all of his songs need u to pay attention to the song alone to get what we feel when we hear this..till then it will just be a fun song or a good song etc

Absolutely true...if you want to enjoy the music in it, you have to omit the visuals and hear some lyrical or some audio. You are certainly missing many variations, magical, and mind blowing moments in the song by getting deep into the visuals. It is true atleast this song has some funny and vibrant moments and scenes, but you are definitely missing the music here...

They took an era for this. They would take an eternity for that.
Although Prabhu was good, Kajol was the main expression point of this song. Her face is so expressive with the lyrics and she brings the whole frame alive! Chitra's voice is also unbeatable, especially those high notes! I recommend checking Kajol out more, especially in the movie Gupt: The Hidden Truth where she is a whole new avatar.
Prabhudeva received a national award for one of the songs from the same movie for choreography,also singer the legendary chitra ji received national award for this song...U MUST WATCH THIS MAN...I SWEAR ITS EPIC😃
Thanks for reacting on this song, Nazar (blue shirt with beard) is from my birthplace, Chengalpattu, Tamil Nadu, we used to live across the streets, and classmate of my older brother, and his younger brother was very close with my family, was a regular visitor to my home, we don't live anymore in that town. Very talented actor, directed and produced couple of movies. 👍🙏

I see many being harsh on Rick and Korbin for missing the beauty of the music/vocals. For those of us who have grown up loving the song, it's easy to appreciate the nuances and brilliance in composition and singing. For people who don't have the benefit of familiarity, it might be difficult to pick up on all the musical aspects after listening to it just once.
These guys prepared themselves with a predetermined mind to enjoy Prabhudevas dance moves and in turn they missed out classic A R Rahman musical gem..thats the irony..@6:35 when music switched to high notes these guys became very happy to see Prabhudevas entry into the song but completely missed out the music change

I'm so excited about you guys starting to watch more from the 90s! I mean, there's so much from other times that are worth watching, but the feel of late 80s, 90s tamil cinema, and early 2000s is something I would love for you guys to experience. Forgiving some things that are of course cringe decades later, it was such a wholesome, romantic decade. (Well, anything in poetry has a double entendre but you get my drift.) I wish I could do the subtitles for some of these for you. I'm from Canada, born and raised, but am immersed in my culture and can speak, write, read fluently in Tamil and love exploring languages, lyrics, poetry, etc. So sometimes, subtitles make me really sad. Lol (Not with this song so much. It was pretty straightforward.) But sometimes, the beauty and artistic genius of some lyrics are lost in translation. Lol. I'd probably have a cole's notes intro to every video, or at least to go along with it.

Omg it's freaking fusion.. Changing the orchestration entirely from folk to western.. Also the sound quality and programming wow it's phenomenal.. Only 5 albums is enough to say rahman is music genius (thiruda thiruda, MK, Rangeela, water and dilse).

@ThatIndianGuy.....As far as I remember kajol did only this film in Thamizh.....yeah she is awesome in this film....We used to watch most of her Hindi films including her first film Baazigar..... She is a very natural actress and we became the die hard fan of her....She is a rare beauty like her mother Tanuja.....and recently she did somewhat a negative role in actor Danush's film Velaiyilla pattadhari part 2. She did a good job in that film too.....

You are missing the beauty in the music here. Yes it's true the scenes do have some funny and vibrant moments, but beyond that the music contains several magical moments which makes you breath taking. The transition from the pepe mode to that local kuthu movement and vice versa is something everyone can't achieved. He uses the organ and thavil to make the impossible to possible.
