    i think the tadpoles would have eaten the dried bugs better if they were crushed. they seemed to like them just hard for them to fit them in their tiny mouths. they are adorable. thanks for sharing. :)

    Since the smaller tadpoles have a head start, might they be able to become frogs and leave the pond before the bullfrogs take over?
    Oh - just saw that tadpole eating the eggs… maybe they won’t make it 😮

    if you still have the microscope it would be cool to take some samples of the pond waters and see what all algae and tiny animal friends there are!

    Oh, no. I found tadpoles in my rain barrel. I moved some to an aquarium, they are getting legs now. But I found an advice page that said put tree frog tadpoles in kiddie pools. So, I had two pools going, but one of them lost all the tadpoles, but two. I thought maybe an aggressive tadpole was eating the others, but they all disappeared in one night. Now I am wondering if a frog got them. I hear the adults at night. It's only been a few weeks and I am already getting tired of looking after the tadpoles. I feel I should go out and check on them right now. A lot of them are still in the rain barrel. They are way behind in size.

    It maybe easier for the tadpoles Dave if you crush the pellets as they seem to spend a lot of time just pushing them about and giving up then moving off. 👍🏼
