- As is evident from the trailers, Palworld looks gorgeous on a visual level. The developer has used a smart mix of cartoony aesthetics for characters and Pals mixed with realistic lighting and textures for the environment, which create a really mesmerizing and unique look for the game. Now coming to details surrounding the release, Palworld is currently slated for release on PC via Steam. Of course, it's possible that the game may be ported over to consoles if it garners enough critical and commercial success - but it's not a speculation that fans should bank on for now.
As for the release date, Palworld's Steam listing shows a planned release date of 2023. As always, it's best for developers to take all the time that's required to polish a game - and we are hoping with crossed fingers that Palworld ends up being worth the wait.

Pokemon games have become complete trash. The trailer for Scarlet and Violet actually made me feel bad. It's the same as every other Pokemon game on the switch: Horrible graphics, nowhere to explore, horrible mechanics, BORING.

This series is stuck in 2010 when it could be something so much more. Gamefreak continues to release upscaled Nintendo DS roms and calls them Switch games!

I’ve always wanted to check out a Pokémon operated rifle factory.
It feels like they copied all the pokémon fanart, fan fusions, and Nintendo art style, gave everyone guns, and made the game rating E+10. I'm intrigued.

Interesting. My only thing is that the weapons could better fit into the art style if they were more cartoonish and goofy. Like flamethrowers, cannons, electric blasters or even arrows. Then the guns would seem less out of place.

@@b.b.s7545 Partly true. The gameplay is so slugish, it could use a fast mode and quality of life improvements still, even though there are little ones every time, we can still use a lot of them. Plus they regress oftentimes.
But the visuals are a whole different topic and Pokemon games of late like ScaVi have no excuse for looking so bad while also managing to be super unoptimised even with these potato graphics.
Guns? what the hell? this is very exciting to see. Maybe this will get Pokémon to innovate.

I'm a minute into this video and I'm shocked that this developer hasn't been locked down by lawsuits... so many of these creature designs make me think they were ripped right out of a Pokémon game.

I have 0 interest in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet after seeing their trailer today.
This? Palworld looks AMAZING. This is what Gamefreak should've been expirimenting with 5+ years ago. Now they're going to go into decline. I wish these Devs the best of luck, because this looks amazing. If they don't release it, I'm gonna find a team myself and get it finished. This game needs to see the light of day, and I bet there are millions of fans around the world that would love to help on it too.

I think you're thinking more like Pokemon Open World, which I dont think could handle this and make it all work grear. this looks almost like Pokemon meets ARC, so a lot of the features will be there and be functional, but probably won't be incredibly deep and AAA developed

The concept is great! And I'm interested in playing it. But, the pals look too similar to pokemon... I literally saw Lucario, mareep, Raichu, pimplup, meganium, Electabuzz, etc..
They need more originality in that aspect.
Bro there's over a 1000 pokemon at this point its going to be pretty hard to be original since they have turned almost everything into pokemon from animals to food to items like keys and swords.

Rather than normal guns, i would like it more with little more futuristic aspect that matches with the theme of "Pals"
btw, I advise people go visit the discord for this game. The team are quite active, and theres even a Q and A you can find that is both cursed and hilarious. Also the community is usually pretty good. Sometimes you get a bad egg whos drunk and fights the staff lol but it's still a great place.

There's a number of monster catching games out there that even avid gamers will never have heard of. While they all have their own unique charms, nothing has quite the same staying power. Pokemon has an anime series, movies and merchandise that go along with the game as well as several spin off games. As far as I know, that's not something that competitors have.
There's also the fact that some competitors are just seriously bad. TemTem comes to mind. While Pokemon has been making it simpler to breed and create the perfect competitive Pokemon, TemTem went the exact opposite way. The grind is absolutely insane. It is out of reach of new players and that's a major problem. You want players to familiarise themselves with core game systems as soon as possible in order to retain them. TemTem has a thing that they call an economy, but the reallity just breeding being used as a money sink. They wanted to make the game more of an MMO and a major portion of MMO out there have an economy. They never stopped along the way and wondered if it made sense for a monster catching game. Heck, the recent Pokemon games have more of an economy than TemTem does. Arceus has craftable items. Scarlet and Violet have a heck of a lot of items that you can buy without needing to turn breeding into a money sink. TemTem had a good base, but failed because of a few half baked ideas like that.

The base game for Ark has many bugs and performance issues. It's why you see many people playing it with the lowest graphics settings that look like an old MMO game to reduce performance drops (and make seeing players easier).

Lycanrocks design is legitimately just an anime wolf with rocks sticking out of it. Pokémon didn’t exactly put that much of a creative twist with Midday Lycanrock.

@@SpookyIsReal If people are talking about Direhowl, it just looks more like a generic wolf monster than Lycanroc in particular. Lycanroc itself was already a rather generic design, and Direhowl doesn't have the one thing that made Lycanroc what it was - the jagged rocks coming from its fur. Heck, even the fur around the face is differently shaped. All in all, it's just a wolf, and this is one of the few designs where I could genuinely believe the "sharing a concept produces a similar result" argument.

As a big fan of the monster raising/collecting genre, I'm a bit excited (though the stylistic clashes with the guns is... I mean it's certainly something). As an aspiring game dev that wants to make a similar game in the future, I'm mildly frustrated that some of these look like outright POkemon ripoffs. (Wooloo, and Cobalion)
