It’s funny to me how when people collect these quarters they would evaluate how potentially profitable it will be and whether it is good or bad for “profit potential”. I think most collectors just like knowing they have a bunch of cool coins in their closet or garage somewhere even if they’re worthless. Simply because collecting as a business is not very worthwhile way to spend time anyway.

One advantage of Bicentennial Quarters over many moderns before the State Quarters is the demand is probably highest among non-collectors and collectors. I call these good album fillers and keeping a nice low MS is going to get you at least double the face value in profit. Of course the biggest factor as your search shows is how much is your time worth?
Great video that shows that there are many attractive coins that are quite common and will be for quite some time.

My favorite recent find from a bank roll was an impaired Bicentennial Quarter proof which does show the full drum and the impaired proof finish gives it a rather cool look.

    I got a Whole Roll
Of Bicentennial quarters from a bank
One day, but didn't realize it til I got home! ( They were supposed to have been for laundry!) Lol!
Can u Imagine the Surprise! When I
    Opened the roll!
Wow! I Couldn't believe Someone Actually took them
The bank! But I suppose that person
Needed the $10 bucks. (But I Saved them all!) Ended up
Not using them for laundry, lol! Good
Thing I asked for 2 Rolls of quarters.
And I have been collecting them
    Since '75\'76.
& Still Collecting them! Regardless of
    Their face value.

My question is: Should I be saving uncirculated or circulated bicentennial coins for my great-grandchildren? Likewise, should I save circulated or uncirculated State coins, SBA's, Ike's, or Kennedy's for my great-grandchildren?

  • @silversurfer1986

I too grew up in the 80's and loved getting them in pocket change. May never be worth more than face but neat to save. I did pick up an impressive DCAM PR for my 20th century proof set. It looks amazing!

Juan Lopez not true, there are many of those quarters with error on the base drum. 1 sold for $25,000 PCGS D mint . Remember in coin collections it's not what you know but who you know. A lot of people would buy a coin like this for Thousands. Just gotta go to the right Coin Auction
