I had a video of this as a kid. I used to watch it all the time. Seeing it now however... yeah, it does'nt hold up. And I love how the beanstalk vanishes in a green haze when it is "cut down".
@Debaser11 Is this the original version of this tale? The version I read to my kids never mentions jack's father, let alone that the giant stole the items in the first place. I guess that's why I'm curious.
@Debaser11 A rather contrived morale for a boy who climbs a beanstalk to essentially steal from someone else, yes? Thanks for the minutes, I missed it!
C L if you’re talking about the harp, he didn’t steal it. The harp was somehow stolen by the giant. Or somehow accidentally got up there. The harp belongs to jacks land and people which brings peace and beauty to their land and people or something like that. I think the harp is like a side story. I remember reading about the harp in one version of jack and the beanstalk. It might’ve been a Mickey Mouse version starring none other than Mickey himself as Jack.
I know "The Giant" was trying to catch, kill, and eat Jack before Jack got away too far but, as soon as he tripped and dropped his stick at 1:36, I wonder why he didn't quickly run back and pick his stick back up since it didn't look like he threw it back that far, especially since he grabbed it off the table at 1:01 just to kill Jack.
@@ciarandaragh8676 Yes, the Giant grabbed it off the table at 1:01 and then dropped it at 1:36. Of course, mostly likely his stick fell down through the clouds which he saw fall down which is why he didn't run back for it after probably noticing that it fell through the clouds. However, I guess it did work perfectly for him since holding onto it would make it harder for him when holding onto the beanstalk to climb down.
How come the air Force can't find this place and blow it the smell of rings a castle where a giant lives in the sky? What the f*** we got to air Force for ain't doing s*** but sitting on their ass
@Mohd Shaikh The hen is seen at 4:51 after Jack and his mom moved back into the castle that belonged to them while the Giantess kind of became their housekeeper.
I'm sure "The Giant" has seen the beanstalk in front of the castle for days, weeks, and maybe months and I'm sure that gave him a clue that someone (who of course was Jack) climbed up the beanstalk and stole the gold coins and hen that lays golden eggs in the castle, so I wonder why "The Giant" never climbed down the beanstalk after so many days, weeks, and maybe months. If he did climb down it, he definately would have found Jack to eat and he would have gotten the gold coins and hen back.
@afriendofbean I think that club of his fell through the clouds. Anyway, it worked to his advantage, because holding onto it would have made it all the harder to climb down the beanstalk.
Actually, I'm wrong. The club didn't fall through the clouds. I mean, if a human can safely walk on those clouds without falling through, why should things be different for a club. But, yeah, the giant's number one priority at the moment was catching Jack. He must have decided he'd retrieve the club later, on his way back home.
@@Garrettk41 Yes, that could be one thing that he decided to come back for his club later after catching and eating Jack where he probably was hoping he could have caught Jack with the club before Jack made it to the beanstalk but probably even if he didn't trip and drop his club, I'm only guessing he would have set the club down next to the beanstalk just to use his hands to climb down it or if he had giant pockets (since he's a Giant), he could put his club in his pocket so he could use his hands to climb down.
@horselesssleigh This isn't the film you're thinking of. This is the Faerie Tale Theatre version of "Jack and the Beanstalk". It was made in the 80s and it was produced by Shelley Duvall.
When the Giant fell down off the beanstalk, where did he land on? I would have thought that he would have landed and died in front of Jack and Jack's mom. I guess maybe the Giant disappeared by magic with the beanstalk.
When I first saw this faerie tale when I was very young, I thought the reason why Jack and his mother were in the castle together because, Jack felt that he didn't have to feel worried about hiding from the Giant. Also, I did think that the Giantess was going to get angry at Jack that he was the one who stole things from the Giant even though those gold coins and the hen belonged to Jack's father, and I thought the Giantess would get angry at Jack knowing that he caused her husband to die.
I know that Jack told his mom that he needs to return to the castle to avenge something and after hearing the story from the woman on the cloud/the magic bean salesman in disguise learning that Jack had a quest to avenge his father's death but, it looks like Jack didn't try to fight "The Giant." All it looked like is that he wanted to steal the magic harp and leave (unless that was the only reason why he came back to the castle) which is what he tried but "The Giant" caught him unfortunately.
The giant did a manu off the beanstalk 😂🤣😂😂😀
Thanks for the beautiful childhood memories..90's
