    So appreciate your time and educational tutorials. Am "frozen" with fear about this machine because I want to cut out my applique pieces and then have my embroidery machine accurately stitch them in the placement positions... am sick of stitching the "placement, trim with applique scissors, then tackdown" and never being happy with that results (its my trim applique ability to get it just right). So... do you have a tutorial on how to veriy simply transfer my cut applique piece back to my embroidery machine? I now know to choose "pre-cut" shape/segment/element, but again, frozen doesn't begin to describe this super senior! Thank you so much. love your teaching method and your voice is so very pleasant... and you don't have your hands flying every or your tutorials loaded with "fluff." Thank you again, and again.

    This was awesome and very, very helpful. I’ve had my Scan and Cut for years and have failed to totally understand such a simple thing. Your videos and explanations are perfect. I’m a visual learner and you explain things short and to the point but very throughly. I appreciate your time, knowledge and sharing.

    Thank you, Becky! I had a bad experience with Heat and Bond on my Super sticky mat. It was ugly! Then I figured out that I should turn the fabric over so the fabric side was down against the mat with H&B side up. Much better! LOL. Your explanations were much more helpful than the fella at the store where I bought my Scan n Cut. He's not a fabric person, obviously. I do appreciate you as a resource. Keep up the great videos.

I’ve been watching you for a while now, and I really want to let this machine cut my appliqué pieces. Some pattern pieces, too! The front roller for larger fabric pieces was free with my bundle. Love your videos! I've had an old Scan N Cut 650 for years, but never was happy with the fabric cuts so mainly did HTV and paper. Now have the new SDX325, and have done several successful fabric cuts - wow!! Of course, messed up the first one with HNBL on the fabric mat... you were not kidding about the hour to clean it off! I'm going to write on my mats like you did on your standard one, so I don't have to remember what to do with each. the low tack mat is unfortunately very expensive, so I think I'll just continue to use the standard one... maybe buy a second to 'fuzz up' so it becomes a lower tack!

    • @PowerToolsWithThread
      @PowerToolsWithThread  Před 2 lety

      I have that model but it's at our house at the coast so I don't have much cause to use it any longer. Only in an emergency when I'm working on a project that I forgot to cut a piece out. The functions are very much the same as mine. The buttons are just a tad bit different but the pictures of the icons are the same. The biggest difference is that you need to do a test first to make sure the blade is to the correct depth before each cut.

    • @PowerToolsWithThread
      @PowerToolsWithThread  Před 2 lety +1

      Great questions! Yes, the SNC is a stand alone cutter and it does not need to be used with Brother machines. Yes, SVG files on your laptop can be used, but you'll need to upload them to the Brother Canvas Cloud (free at canvasworkspace.brother.com - there is a button to upload svg files), and then download that file to the SNC. Or, you can transfer the svg via a USB thumb drive.

    Thank you so much for this video. I learned a lot. I just purchased my first scan n cut about 2 weeks ago and have so much to learn.. I have a question regarding the Simply Applique Software. Not sure if you can answer it but I'll ask anyway. I recently bought software from RNK distributing called Craft N Cut. It works with different cutting machines although the software hasn't been updated to reflect Brother DX machines. It gives you the cutting settings for the older versions but it's great for creating your own SVG files or converting files into cut files. In looking at Simply Applique software, it looks as if it does the same thing. I hate to purchase more software if I don't need it. I don't suppose you know anything about the software I already own.

    • @PowerToolsWithThread
      @PowerToolsWithThread  Před 2 lety

      So....felt is very fuzzy on its own, so you'd have to assume that it will leave "fuzz" on a sticky mat. I'd use the purple mat to adhere the felt and then after each and every cut, I'd wipe it down with Totally Awesome and a wipe. I'd use the black blade on the #2 side lever. But test first with some scrap felt. Pull up a small circle in the internal designs, scan the felt, and then try a cut. Good luck!
