Honestly, seeing the paint react to the paint remover solution like that is pretty unsettling but I quite like seeing an alternate take on Lady because it is something that is rare in the commuity and fandom as a whole. So far, I think Wildnorwester and Victor Tanzig were the only people who pretty much portrayed "Lady" as an industrial engine.

In my AU/Headcanon, Lady is a prototype engine that worked well enough to work on a shunting yard but not enough to become a series of engines. After being worked on by a stubborn man(aka Burnett Stone) to the point that she could enter full service, she worked on a heritage railway near Sodor I've been calling the "Shining Time Heritage Railway" till it closed and the Fat Controller bought her and brought her to Sodor, where she often does a mix assortment of jobs though a common one is helping Percy with his Mail Trains.

Trainboy do you think that one of the bigger Ertl engines like Henry or Douglas would be better for N scale than trying to make it HO/OO? I haven’t held an Ertl engine in a while but I feel like aside from Lady they’re too small to properly fit the scaling of HO/OO
She came out amazing! Personally, I prefer her livery from the movie because it's so special to me, but I really like your take. Especially the Stone LTD, very nice touch.
I'd recommend some of the freelance designs from the RWS and magazines as coworkers of Lady, for example the green saddle tank that worked at the docks, the small blue engine that also worked at the docks, the 2 red tank engines from the magazines, 13, and probably others I've forgotten (do Bash & Dash count? They're heavily altered from their basis). Others could be Charlie (they have very similar paintwork and he's an industrial), Billy, Samson, Harvey, Fergus and many others could also be on the table depending on how far the reimagined goes. As a final suggestion, maybe her and Crovan could have been old work colleagues?
Nice Work. I would have personally put a Chocolate Company on her as she looks like she would be a good shunter for a Chocolate Factory. Just the same as Cadbury's had their shunters for their factories. This now gives me a idea for a Lady Like Locomotive with a Cadbury's Colours and Logo.

You know, I actually think of Lady as an engine of the Sodor & Mainland Railway. I imagine her as a unique engine built at Crovan's Gate Works and runs a loop-line at Kirk Ronan, specifically near Killaban Station, Killaban Yards and The Big Dipper Viaduct (the three locations from Magic Railroad).
That is an amazing HO Scale Lady custom, it kinda looks better than the regular one you made, I like how you added the Stone LTD signs where Lady’s nameplate is supposed to be and I wish Bachmann and Hornby made an HO Scale Lady.

As far as era goes though, I’m feeling more like Lady would be more early to mid Era 2; the locomotive “Lively Polly” (which Lady might’ve been based on, for those who didn’t know) was built in 1884, and I could see Lady being built either that same year or a bit later. Maybe it’s just me thinking she’d look better with the boxy plank wagons instead of chauldrons; idk. The choice is of course ultimately up to you. Still, again, bang-up job.

With Lady being a somewhat Victorian style, it would make sense for her to be an Era 1 locomotive. Also her being older than the other engines would fit that… ethereal, source-of-all-life-for-steam-trains… Sorry, but I still enjoy Magic Railroad while watching it, and this IS a cool model! 👍👍

I will quickly say, the choice of livery you chose for Lady is not only more unique but I think it looks better than that red and yellow one most people give her in the Trainz model of her.
Personally, I think it would be cool if you payed homage to the original Plarail/Tomy toy of Lady where she came with those Troublesome Trucks that were painted in a livery that matched hers. That’s what I would go with.
It would be awesome if you did use the coal cars also, I think you should put a diesel 10 on the layout to give it some history before lady got her pink livery. Just like a backstory I think it’s a great opportunity in my opinion to go this route just to give us some history of like a what, if scenario and with diesel 10 chasing her with the coal cars with Burnett stone in the cab just like he says where, we never the backstory were Burnet stone explains about lady, but never got to see it in the movie. I wish we did see you in the movie, but then we would need a cooling tower to give us some purpose. for the layout. and maybe if you want to see my ideas for this, I could try to make a replica of what you could do, but do it as your own take on it Anyway, that’s my idea about it and I hope you have a very awesome day.
