By the way, a 4.5 stars rating, in Cuba, is about the same as a 2.5, 3 stars in North America.
The wifi was honestly not bad at all when I went, I got wifi in my room and the pool and I was in building 8. The food is to be expected because it’s Cuba but there’s always something to eat.
They never have ketchup or mustard in Cuba so bring it along if you need it. The beaches are the best in the world but the food is getting worse as the war between Russia and Ukraine continues. We had shortages last year in May and things have got worse. They have troubles getting basics like eggs, bacon, milk, fries, mixes for drinks, vegetables, fruits. I feel for the hardworking Cuban people because if it is bad at resorts it is 100x worse for them.
To be honest, I have been to this resort over 10 times and cannot wait to go back! Knowing it is a 3rd world country and there is a huge food shortage crisis on the island, one has to lower one's expectations. The staff really is great. Made a lot of very good friends and, even if a few of them left the island for the U.S., they wear their hearts on their sleeves. Even if some of them have PhD's, they get better pay at a resort, thanks to the tips... and about the pool bar... why do you think the French call a pool a piscine? because it's literally pronounced "pi$$ in" :)

What most people don’t realize is that you’re going to a 3rd world country. They don’t have reliable electricity, wifi, tv ( who needs this in paradise anyway.?) or food supply. This is not a bad thing, just remember where you’re going. We also were there from January 16 to 24th and had an amazing time. Great beach, great drinks and always found something to eat. Food at the beach is great, not big on buffets even in Canada so we avoided the buffet. The people are amazing as is the SERVICE!
The reason why Cuba is the way it is , it’s because the USA. If they just left them alone, they would be better .

@@gordonvarcoe9252 it was a great time, lots of fun. Weather was great ! If I went back though few things to remember. DO NOT eat the ice cubes or water only get it from the bottles they have. Bring lots of extra snacks from home (noodles were my thing) & if you like cats there’s a lot of feral cats. Maybe some cat treats ? Besides that was amazing mate I hope you have the best time !
