Bruh, your production value has skyrocketed for this review of Mats! One of your most immersive reviews yet! That otherworld collab looks super fun. I've seen a few of my friends who went to Mats as well as Ohayocon talk about it. Mats will always be my favorite event in Ohio.

Your videos convinced me to go to Matsuricon which I'm glad I did. I also might've passed by you in the dealers room.
I did go to the Masquerade and it was good with great energy from the crowd. I will say that maybe it is just me but noticed some things at the Masquerade could be improved. The Masquerade had skits session and a cosplay walk on session. There were 2 screens on either side of main events with stage in the middle.
For the skits often times the stage performers would go off screen so the camera operator should've zoomed out but never did. For the cosplay walk on they turned off both screens and it was hard to see center stage.
This isn't so much Matsuricon's fault, but the colors on the screen were very dull. Also you could see shadows of the next performers behind the screen.
For both skits and cosplay walk on, the announcer would occasionally stumble announcing the next skit/character and at one point the crowd was waiting for the next skit and the announcer was like "oh yea I forgot I was announcing."
On a separate note was pretty conflicted with the cosplay Photoshoots. I can't speak for all photoshoots, but the one I went to was pretty organized. Not sure if it the same photographer for some of the other shoots. The only downside was that the Photographer was maybe a bit picky in terms of positioning characters so there were much less photo opportunities compared to most cons, but then again it might be a case of quality over quantity. There were also only 2 photoshoot areas.

As a performer in the masq it wasn’t put together very well! Most masquerades have around 25 spots but this one only had 12 and only 9 people ended up performing. I 100% agree with you
Hello, I actually volunteer at Mats (and am the bunny suit girl in the rave section lmao didn't realize I got spotted) and photoshoots are either ran by a Matsuri photog or by the organizers personally chosen photog. So it's the organizer's discretion on what shot they want unfortunately, unless it is completely ran by the photog where input may happen a bit more.

Damn I wish I would have found out about this con a few months ago, I've always wanted to see Nano live and seeing Jonathan Young and Caleb Hyles would have been incredible too. Looks like it was lots of fun!

I was upset that we weren't allowed to wear masks in the dance. Also probably why it was empty. As a furry with a suit, it soured the rest of the day for me and I didn't end up going

I'm surprised he didn't mention the Heat I was there on Saturday and I have no clue what was going on with the temperature control but I was getting deep fried in costume

We were standing right next to each other at the Nano Concert lol. Great review bro , I agree as a videographer volunteer this was one of the better cons happening in ohio. Hope to see you at Ohayocon!

Hello! Have you considered traveling to out of state cons, or just stick to cons in your area?
I mean most cons I go to are out of state lol. As for cons that are even further away it’s for sure something I would like to do

The food is a hit and a miss, first day I got food It was a miss, barely anything good and a chunk of money, second day I got that 12 in calzone from the pizza place, that had me full the whole day and was worth it.
i was behind u on the escalator one of the days but i was too scared to say anything 😭
