In my opinion, tech reviewers should stop reviewing smartwatches the same way they review phones, using subjective experiences and preferences be their conclusion. Personally, the way you do reliable reviews on these smartwatches should be the only way for other tech reviewers review smartwatches when it comes to the health related features.
Doing a comparison between the device being reviewed against a device that can consistently and reliably show results can be helpful for the viewers who plan to buy a smartwatch primarily for health and fitness.
Kudos to you, Rob for going the extra mile to produce a multitude of tests with such high quality and reliability.

I wear a Garmin Venu 2 on my left wrist and an Apple watch SE on the right. With HR, the SE is clearly superior. I've tested it with straps from both Garmin & Polar and if there is a difference, it's minimal. I'm a cyclist, both indoor & out and I'm a kayaker & indoor rower. I also weight train once a week so I've tested these devices under various conditions.
Garmin used to be a dumpster fire for sleep tracking but it's improving. The sleep score is now useful. The SE data may be more accurate but what to do with the data is still an issue.

The one thing I don't quite understand is how the Apple Watches have bette HR (and other) readings in comparison to other devices - especially Garmins - when the AWs only have live HR every few minutes while the Garmins have real-time HR measurements. Not sure if you can shed some light into that and also if that difference is actually worth noting at all / useful (aka: why is real time HR more useful than live every few minutes)

I've been flirting with the idea of buying an Oura Ring for quite some time now (don't like the subscription service, but I get it). What amazes me is that, as an Android user, I don't have a smartwatch option that is on par with the Apple watches when it comes to health or sleep tracking (at least in terms of accuracy - they definitely offer multiple health tracking functionalities, but if those are not accurate...). I'm still holding on to the hope that some day, hopefully soon, we'll see an Android smartwatch capable of replicating or at least coming close to the Apple Watch Series 8. I'd love to have a smartwatch with the battery life of Amazfit GTR 4 (about 10 days) + the accuracy of the best Apple Watch out there. 😄

I personally find the combination of Polar Ignite 3 + Polar H10 very good. Sleep tracking is good compared to many others. The representation of the data is the best I have experiences compared to multiple watches and platforms. The HR tracking is not reliable on the watch but when you get the H10 and wearing it during trainings 🎉 Would you maka a review of the Polar Ignite 3? This is the first combo I have stiuck with for more than a half year. I usually change my watch very often and I am always looking into something new but recently I just can't find such thing. Maybe Apple watch but I am not an IPhone user. Fitbit is with good sleep tracking but HR.. they don't support extranal chest strap. Garmin, I can't like this brand. A lot of features and high price and it end it has never been accurate to me. Huawei is good in HR but sleep tracking is not. Amazfit, never update existing models and is inaccurate. Really, the best balance for me is Ignite 3 + H10 so far.

Great content as always! I'd be really interested in knowing about other sleeps apps. One of the advantages of a wear os device or an apple watch is the ability to download other apps. For example wear os has some apps such as Sleep as Android, Sleep Cycle, Wake up well which have smart alarms to wake you up during lighter sleep. I would love to watch a review of some of these. You would need to compare the same app across a few different devices because there would be differences in the sensors on each device. It would be great to know how effective they are at optimizing the alarm time. Keep up the good work!

I have a pretty important question.
I have seen some videos saying how smartwatches are harmful for us and how it's affecting our memory, brain power etc.
Can you tell us minimum how much time should we be wearing a smartwatch to negate any harm?

Hi, thanks for your video reviews, they are very accurate.
I would like to suggest you add two small useful details for those who want to use smartwatches for swimming.
You could highlight in the graphs, at least once in each video, the smartwatches that have the resistance characteristic of at least 5 Atm and indicate which ones measure the heart rate DURING swimming. This would be very useful for those who have to choose a multisport smartwatch. Thank you.
P.S.: If you have a friend who can test heart rate measurement while swimming that would be even better!

You should mention which strap you used for these measurements. I think the accuracy is greatly affected by how snug the watch fits on your wrist. It is possible that some type of bands perform better at some kind of activity compared to others

You should make a video on how to analyse the health data, sleep metrices, hrv. How one can track it on personal dashboards.

I own both Whoop 4.0 and Apple Watch Series 8. How would you recommend utilizing them both? Use both for sleep tracking or just one? Use both for workouts or just one? Love your reviews!!!

The statistics presented in your videos are amazing. Subscribed!
I'm looking to buy a device to mostly track my sleep. I use an iPhone. Is the apple watch your recommendation in that case? Or should I get the headband that you used in your earlier videos that tracks the eeg?
I also love in Europe and would like to cool down my temperature when sleeping. I was thinking of either a portable air conditioning or the sleep pod 8. Do you think the sleep pod 8 has improved your sleep enough to be worth the price? I would love to hear your opinion on this. Will there maybe be a apple watch 9 video in the near future?

    Hello,
Thank you so much for your videos. This is definitely the best source of clear, reliable information about the wearables that I have found. I currently own an Apple Watch 6 and have been satisfied with it, but I'm curious to see if the 9th gen offers any significant advancements.
I am on fixed-term disability due to a sudden, serious decline in my health, and monitoring my sleep has been a valuable indicator of what went wrong. About six months ago, my average deep sleep was 32 minutes and REM sleep was 56 minutes. Recently, I've seen an increase of about 50% in deep sleep and up to 90% in REM sleep. So, investing in sleep seems to be working, at least in terms of tracking how I'm doing. There is hope for recovery and regaining functionality.
One feature that has been added to wearables and could provide insights into the body's stress levels or relaxation state (fight or flight vs. rest and digest) is heart rate variability monitoring (HRV). Would you have the opportunity to test that feature?
Thank you again for your informative content.

O Zeblaze Ares mede a pressão arterial. Comparei os dados dos sensores do Ares 3 com um aparelho Onrom. Para a minha surpresa, a diferença foi bem pequena.
