We cant even talk about energy or infrastructure.
ESCOM will cut your lights out for 2 days straight.
The wifi and 3g is absolutely terrible.
And then with customs, if you try to bring anything into the country you always, and i mean always have to bribe a customs agent.

Malawi is a beautiful country and is indeed, hungry for investments at every level of developments. Seriously one needs to be out of his mind to invest his hard earned cash in a country where corruption has become a pandemic in need of a vaccine at a massive proportionality. In fact, there are a lot of young men and women leaving elsewhere around the glob who would want to come back home and invest the little they can, but are particularly worried that they might instead, lose everything they have acquired over the years due to the level of corruption. Everyone is aware that corruption is everywhere in the world, but I think Malawi is one of the most corrupt countries in Africa and I think 90 % of those investing in that country are doomed to fail without any doubt.
The time for change is now, but first those in positions of authority must be willing to put measures in place to first clean up the mess. Ideally, it must start from the top all the way down to grassroot level. Everyone in Malawi, is seriously corrupt, every department, police, traffic, RMA, water board, ESCOM, politicians, doctors and nurses, border control officials are all corrupt. Bribery and deception has become normalised. Traffic police are like a swarm of burgers strategically deployed at every Conner throughout the country. They have no shame to say TIGAWILENI YA DRINK. Immigration officials for instance, can be seen accepting bribes openly without a care. The current president made a lot of correct noises about him working towards a better Malawi, he even promised to create a conducive atmosphere for business but two years down the line now and the state of a fairs still remain unchanged.
