Insurance price doesn’t matter as per Indian Liscence experience. You should have Canadian driving experience to get your insurance price lowered. Otherwise you’ll be considered as a fresher, and Indian experience just only help you to proceed with G2 or G so that you can get permitted to drive on the road because you used to drive back home as per your experience which should not be less than 2 years.

The first thing you do if you live outside of the cities either in US or Canada is buy a vehicle. Don't look at it as a car look at it as a scooter. I would ignore your recommendation and buy a used car first for 5k, then buy a new car after 3 years.
