    Holy crap that's M5 money! They've lost their marbles. Its a lot of money for an M4, ridiculous.
    A lot of Alcantara too, maybe a bit too much for a daily driver.
    The new X6 M50i or a V8 Range Rover would be my first & second choices ... An M5 would be the third.
    Good God man, that's a lot of money for an M4!

    Skip that BMW in favor of a new Porsche 911 Carrera S. Starting price $113K. Too much, you say, what about all the options? Then drop down to the base Carrera for $97K, still better than ANY BMW. My world view from SoCal USA.

      113k but can you live with the stripper model. Hard to keep it under 125k. Yes on the 911 and the natural evolution from a M car, but prepare to pony up the wallet. IMO the non CS Comp package F82 is the winner and when funds are in order 911.

    718 Cayman GT4. Because if you want to compromise to have a toy car, the GT4 is better.
    I am from Canada, I have a M2 in my garage, but I am getting a GT4 next year. 😁

    What in gods name were they thinking when they made those interior door panels? That is absolutely absurd in a car this expensive. They should've either kept it leather or done exposed carbon fiber like in the Lambo Gallardo Superleggera

    For daily use a regular M4, if track is on my mind a M4 CS, none of the mentioned cars has carbon roof and/or carbon ceramic brakes, carbon fiber everywhere is expensive, also carbon roof helps reducing center of gravity which helps on track

    911. Doesn´t matter which one if it fits the price range. I am German and Porsche is Porsche. But the BMW CS is a collectors car from the start, so they are hard to compare.

    I really hope that big huge grill on the concept doesn’t make it to production. BMW is getting out of control with it’s grill sizes. So are many other manufacturers like Lexus and Audi.

      Phill M156 That will mean you bought a pretty base model Vette. I don’t doubt that a well equipped Z51 Vette will go for close to $80k after dealer mark-up and taxes. Still a phenomenal deal for the money! However, this $60,000 Corvette everyone brags about will be a unicorn or very plain looking. NOBODY wants a plain looking Corvette, NOBODY.

    There are two options, not one which is executive pkg. the car you filed does not have executive pkg without head up display and adaptive headlight

    For $112,000? I'd get a CPO SQ5 for hauling the kids, bike, dog etc, and use my remaining $60,000-$70,000 to buy an M2 Competition or Porsche Cayman (CPO) or 911 Carrera (used).
    Absurd money for an M4.

    I realize I am late to this party, but would like to throw my thoughts in. I have some time behind the wheel of the M4 CS and I really enjoyed the car. Then several things occurred to me. 1) it is a fun car to drive 2) but not as a daily driver 3) as a Sunday Cars & Coffee vehicle, it is perfect 4) silly money that in no way can justify the price (my local dealer has called me twice to check my interest in it) 5) the AMG C63 S coupe is a much better option, easily 30k cheaper, fast, comfortable and it looks great 6) I live in the north east. Good review, Semper Fidelis

      I agree with you about the C63s but was curious why would this not be a good daily driver as compared to the base or comp M4? Is it just that much more of a stiffer ride?

    GTR Premium @ $108K (currently offering $14K discount)
    Area: Central Coast of CA
    Why: AWD
    Why (elaborated): I owned a 2014 GTR FBO/e85 in CO and the AWD system not only saved me a few times but it made it fun to go a little hot into tight corners.
    Why #2: Tuning potential -- watch an Airstrip Attack event for reference (I know, I know, I'm in Cali and shouldn't be tuning cars)
    Why #3: Sound and looks -- with an aftermarket pipe and a legendary rear end, the GTR takes the prize, not by a lot, but if I had $120K burning my pocket right now, this is the car I'd go for. And don't get me wrong, I already test drove the M5 and it just lack motor/trany character. I was going to wait for the new 2021 M4/M3 with AWD, but I figured that by the time is out, it'll start at around $130K.

    Ya, im with the rest of these guys... GT4 or a well optioned 911 for $112k. NO WAY would I consider an M4 for that much money.

    Low mile 2017 DB11 V12 Coupes are literally almost 50% off MSRP. So lots of option around this price point at MSRP though these don't sell AT MSRP currently. Yes I know you said new but just putting this out there.

      Aaaaaaaaannnndddd this is why I limited the discussion to new only. As a confirmed cheap skate and hater of depreciation . . . I personally always go used for the overall positive impact on one's long term net worth. However, deals like the one you referenced are crazy good. McLarens also depreciate like stones. My only concern for both, is the cost of keeping them on the road . . . Good discussion.

    Motoman, I would purchase a Carrera T in manual or a 718 GT4 for 113k. My credentials: currently drive a 2019 M5 Competition! Previous vehicles include: 1986 944, 2006 Carrera S, 2012 Carrera S, 2008 M3-all manual. 2018 S5, 2018 M550i that sadly died 7 months after purchase (led to M5) .

    I'm with most of the guys here 911S/T for me, if I needed a trunk I'd get an M2. I don't think there's anything you can do to the F80 to make it worth double the base MSRP. Views from Metro Detroit.

    At $112k? I know it's a completely different TYPE of car, but I'd get a Porsche Panamera SportTourismo 4S with a FEW options. Why? I think it would "look" more rare than the M4 AND I think it's a better looking vehicle. Region? U. S. of A.

    Staying in the BMW lineup I would rather have the F90 M5 Comp. Now it comes with AWD, so here in the Mid West US, just put on some winter tires and I can drive it all year around. It’s got the exact same passenger room and cargo capacity as the regular 5, which is perfect for me. It’s understated, and a complete animal when you want it to be. Absolutely love it.

    MotoMan, I would choose either the Lexus GSF in Flare Yellow, or the Lexus LC500/LC500h. Why? Reliability, comfort, style, and 'best-bang-for-buck' compared to any german rival.
    Also, I am largely tried of the teutonic approach to design. I really love how fresh and aggressive the Asian brands are today, in their pursuit to stand out. I'm from the Northeast U.S. which may or may not limit the number of days I can enjoy these cars, but I won't let that stop me. 👍

    Bought a 17 Comp M3 with 5K for 68K in 17..,then in 18 I tuned it with a Dinan stage 3 along with some other mods. 9K more. Might buy a S2000 for around 25K. I think I’m still below the 112K. My M3 btw has door pockets and is faster than the CS...just sayin.
