- In this video I take a super deep dive into helicopter IFR. This is the video I wish I had seen before I started flight school as I try to fill you in with each little piece of knowledge to give you and understnad of how helicopters fly through the clouds. Please leave all your questions in the comments belopw and I will be sure to get them. Thank you for watching and I hope you enjoy!!!
Checkride Prep!
I have developed a Private Pilot Checkride Prep course. This course is everything you need to ACE your checkride. I spent nearly a month curating all the content and put it together into nearly 10 Hours of video content. After taking this course you will have to confidence and knowledge to Pass your PPL checkride!

All joking aside you did an outstanding job on this video! I’d like to request a video or actually a series of videos for an Initial CFI applicant. It would definitely be greatly appreciated 😃
Thank you sir that means more than you know! That is a great idea and you can look forward to that. I would love to put out some CFI and pre-CFI related content!
Devin, your videos are always very educative and detailed. I'm your number one fan❤❤❤❤❤❤❤. But , go to 4:17.... You meant to say "but because helicopters are inherently unstable". You said " but because helicopters are inherently stable".
I love your videos! Could you you tell me what microphone and video camera and lightening you use to make your videos I would like to make some myself to help inform and share my experiences as well
If you made an IFR online study course like your PPL one I think it would be beneficial. The PPL one was great!
4:13 “very difficult time” doesn’t begin to explain
Great point near the end: VFR is flying based on feeling... IFR is definitely *not* flying based on feeling.
Exactly!
Please please, I just want your personal opinion. Regarding the Blackhawk crash in Alabama, do you think the “spatial disorientation” has a high likelihood of being the cause? there’s video
Of the crash everywhere. I also have clear audio of the 1.5 leading up to and of the crash and the ATC comms. These 2 pilots were extremely experienced and highly professional. The pilot was my daughters father. Thank you for any input you might have.
Wait, what? IFR does NOT stand for “I Follow Roads” 😂
Me and my girlfriend are looking for a flight instructor . We both are interested in learning to fly hellicopters
