I've seen this done before but with what looked like a gear piece and a rivoli.
Question, if you space more than 6 beads, will the center opening be smaller?

This is stunning! I do have one question. What if you have cabochons that are not oval shaped, or circular shaped? I have a very pretty stone, and it's cabochon, but it's an odd shape, almost like a truncated 'S' shape. Do you think this would work for that?

Very beautifull but in decription u write 1mm(20gauge) so is it 1mm or 0.8mm bacause 20gauge is 0.8mm 😊
