i guess im more of a abstract casual fisher... with everything MDJ said its true.. but only thing i dont use with jerkbait fishing is a baitcaster... had more success with a spinning rod/reel combo 6.2.1 and im 5'9'' n use a 6'9'' medium i never seen anyone else use a spinning rod for jerkbaits ceppt for me (that i know of)... i guess im a wierd one

MDJ- I’m in Modesto, I’ve ALWAYS fished jerk baits on spinning tackle. Occasionally I’ll use a bait caster. The action and control seems better. I throw mine on 6# FC Sniper or J-Flouro. My PB Smallmouth 6.1 came on a jerk bait.

I’m gonna give them till the Fall, but after that I’m gonna have to make a company switch. It’s pretty irritating, seeing as I’ve bought nearly $4000 worth of rods from them.
I love jerkin. I build a 6’9 medium power in a mod-fast that has been perfect for me. 12lb invisx but I use a 8:1 reel. St-36 almost always if I can match the weight of original hooks. I’ll have to try that jerkbait out. question: what color(s) were you cranking with on st Clair?
Great video man. For me personally I need a super short rod 6’8 is still too long I have crazy long arms so i always seem to slap the boat or water when I’m fishing a jerk bait 🤣
I'm 6 3 now my wife is 5 7 I hope this helps on jerk are skipping that u got to be close to water with rod tip. my wife is 5 7 ok about 5 years ago she never like to use a bait are skip because of rod tip being close to water line ok for her credit she got one of my pistol grip rods and put a bb1 on it and FACT I PUT 10 000 ON IT SHE SKIP BETTER THAN MONTGOMERY TRY USING A PISTOL GRIP FOLKS TRUST ME BASS WILL BITE USING IT BASS DONT CARE WHAT U USE funny spinner bait plastic worm so on bass not stop biting it we just stop fishing with it

Like a 6ft 9” tournament legend with a 6:4 to 1 reel. 12lb test usually. Been fishing jerkbaits for a long time remember years ago using a 6ft rod 😂

I use a 6'6 spinning combo all diawa . Love it works great no more water slapping
Spinning rods work great too
I would say a damiki rig or moping is probably the number 1 ffs technique just because it has won millions in the last few years
