For those wondering, the double kick pedal DOES NOT come with the Alesis Nitro Mesh. The pedals in the video are my DW9000s. It comes with a single Alesis kick pedal.

Hey everyone! In this video, I unbox and review the Alesis Nitro Mesh electronic drum set.
This is a great beginner's kit for anyone who wants to get into playing drums, or for anyone who just wants to add an electronic kit to their arsenal.

If you are still looking for a kit, I have this kit for sale. I bought this kit in January of 2022 here in Vegas. I stepped up to a Birch shell acoustic kit. For the cost of this kit, It is s reasonably priced kit for beginners to intermediate individuals.
You cannot beat the ease of movement... as far as picking up the kit and physically walking with it in hand.
This kit is obviously not a Yamaha stage custom kit which will run you 749 just for the shells. This kit will help you to learn timing, parradiddles, rudiments and where your drumming pads are.

I bought a nitro mesh kit two years ago and I love it. I'm 6-1, so I went to home depot and bought four 12 inch long by one in diameter steel threaded pipes. They self tap and screw into the bottom of the four legs. Just place the rubber feet on the bottom as well. This raises the set up 12 inches and adds stability by adding about 20 lbs to the bottom of the kit. Since the brain accepts 2 channels per cable one for each drum and a second for each rim you can buy stereo Left Right splitters and double the number of drums on your kit. This is also true for the cymbols. My kit has 8 drums, four cymbols, and hi hat. You have to just create a custom kit and save for each channel. I bought additional drums, cymbols, and I have two base kick pads each with separate pedals. I run it through my old Kenwood steep amp and tower speakers or head sets.

I saw a guy on YT say “I’m a tall guy at 5’10 and it’s short for me”… first off he’s not tall lol but I got scared because I’m 3+ inches taller than him so I’ll definitely go do this for my kit when I buy mine tomorrow :)
Working jazz drummer here that never wanted edrums until I saw the price and for mesh pads!I now see the value in them. I love these drums after almost 3 years. Helped me learn over 30 songs (reading charts) for a big band gig that I had only one rehearsal for. I practice with them with CZcams playing on my smartphone to learn stuff I need to play on gigs. Invaluable tool for me. More than good enough for practice and fun. If you have reasonable expectations I think most people will be very happy with them. If you need top notch ,these aren't it and you should expect to pay way more. It does everything I need.
I've been drumming since I was 10 years old. I just bought my 12 year old son this kit for his birthday. It was easy to set up and it's a lot of fun to play. Great review of this kit. Your channel will be growing exponentially over the next few years.

Like any other electronic drum set, you can always flip the metal bars that hold the drums upward to make them spread out and also make them higher. All sets including regular drum sets are adjustable, so the drummer can make it comfortable for themselves. As for the symbols spinning? If you pay attention to how you run your cords to them that alone will stop them from spinning. I have the turbo mesh kit only because that's all I can't afford right now and I sold my actual drum set when my brother passed away because it brought back too many memories for me for years of him and I playing together in bars in Columbus Ohio.

I bought this for my 14yr old son who is almost 6ft tall and we just built some feet for it to raise it up about 5 inches and its perfect now. He is a beginner and freakn stoked he loves it. He plays every day. Thanks for the heads up on the website to make it sound even better. I play guitar and now a drummer in the house. Good times

Great review! Ive been aware of e-drum kits for a while but this really opened my eyes to it! I haven’t played for a long time since my old acoustic set was damaged in a flood a few years back, and my living situation now definitely wouldn’t allow for too much noise, so I think this would be a great way for me to get back in the game. Hi Nick! I have the Alesia Nitro mesh special edition kit and I’ve played it with my band live using EZ Drummer 3 and it sounded great! Didn’t look great with the red and black, but sounded fantastic. I also own a Yamaha DD75 kit and play it when space is very limited. Keep the vids coming!

Thorough, informative and very well done. Ive been laboring over which brand to get for my 16 year old son. Been researching Yamaha, Alesis, Simmons, Roland, and many others and this seems like the perfect fit for him (I might even jump in on a set or two). Very nice job young man. I'm sold on Alesis.

I own Alesis Nitro Mesh for 2 years now, and it really helped my progression in playing drums. My biggest issue with this set is the static noise when I try to jack in my phone, as I want to play with favourite songs.

Maybe what I'm about to say can help you solve your problem.
I have the Alesis Nitro Mesh Kit too, mainly to play along songs, plugging my phone (Galaxy S7) as input via mini-jack, and getting the sound in my ears through mini-jack with good quality in-ear earphones (I know it's good quality because it's my brother who's a sound engineer who offered them to me, and I also have a background in professional video editing, I'm not a sound specialist, but I can recognize when an headphone has too much bass, background noise, lacks frequency ranges and stuffs like that), and I assure you I definitely have no static noise at all.
I can't tell you exactly what the culprit is, but you should probably try to plug your drums on another wall-plug (or ultimately in another house/appartment with a different electrical installation), or try with another phone, other mini-jack cables etc... maybe it comes from one of these elements. Could also be a defect in the power adapter of your Alesis kit, a bad component in it that doesn't filter the signal good enough or something like that.
So if I were you and wanted to get rid of the static, I would try to check all elements mentioned above, and in last resort contact Alesis to explain the situation and see what they have to say about it, and see if they offer you a power adapter replacement (seems unlikely to me as it's been 2 years since you bought it) but maybe they can confirm you that the static noise comes from the power adapter and sell you a new one for not too much.

thank you for the review, I started learning years ago when i lived with a drummer. couldn't keep me off his practice set then we broke up and I was scared to get a kit living in a apt and electric kits where very pricey back then. I ordered this one today after watching a few reviews figure its a good start to get my feet wet and try and start learning again and decide if its something i want to put more money into

I used to practice on these at the local guitar shop in town. I almost purchased a similar Alesis set for my wife!
Definitely get the kit with the 4th symbol just for the versatility. I purchased this kit a year ago. I'm liking that Nick showed that you can run this through other audio platforms to get more dialed sounds. Now me thinks I need to get a double bass pedal as well.

I have an old Alesis D4 module that I used with my Hart Dynamics kit at church for years. That D4 is still a great sounding module. I'd love to play a newer all Alesis kit. I bet it sounds great.

I enjoy drums and drum beats. I will be picking my drum lessons up again after starting with an actual drum set. I just could not practice like I wanted because of the noise. I decided to sell my traditional drum set and go with a electronic drum set so that I can control the volume and also have options for recording and utilizing different sound kits. This is not too bad of a drum set, for the price, which was why I bought it recently. I'm not a pro drummer by any means but I too did find that the hi-hat control pedal doesn't allow for the same effects that you get from a real hi-hat. The rest of the kit's good though. Didn't take long to figure out how to set the volume controls and how to save a preferred kit setting. It serves my purpose so I'm happy with it.

Good video, I would use it as a practice kit when I can’t play my acoustic kit. I can also have this kit for my 3 1/2 year old daughter. She would love it and play it more than me.
I started playing drums when my parents (saints they were) bought me a used 3 pc Slingerland acoustic set for my 12th birthday! That was almost 48 years ago! 🙀
Now I live in a small condo with very little room, but I’m always playing drums in the air, on my dashboard, or anything else I can find. The good news is, electronic drum kits seem to be way better than they were when I first bought one.
Definitely have a few more videos to watch, and hopefully get to some music stores to try them out.

This review was super helpful. I just found a set for about half price basically new. I’m a big guy but my living situation changed and I’m living in a much smaller space. Im also coming back to drumming after a horrific motorcycle injury (almost lost a leg). I was almost an intermediate drummer before I crashed. Im gonna pull the trigger. This sounds almost perfect for me. Except the size. But I can deal with that

I had a lower level Roland kit years ago and am in the market again. I know Alesis and my old boss used to work for them, quality gear. I’m just an old guy who wants to noodle at home now so this would be perfect for my condo.

Nitro would be perfect for college living too. My DTX I had in college had rubber pads and was super loud.
I had the rubber version of this kit. It wasn’t great but I’m sure the mesh heads are a game changer

The kick surface is a little small, but it worked okay for my playing style. I don't do a lot of super fast double bass grooves and it's been a while since I had this kit setup. If you have a local Guitar Center near you, they usually have them on display. Ask if you can use a double kick pedal and test it out!

I had this kit for a month and then returned it. It is a great beginner kite but I had 2 issues. I’m
6’3” and it’s too short for me to play comfortably. The other issue was the hi hat, it didn’t really seem like there was sensitivity on it. I was trying to play Face Down by Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, but the intro sounded terrible because I couldn’t do small accent notes on the hi hat. Every hit no matter how soft was a full hit
