My fiancée is Turkish! The part about the shoes is 100% true. I’m used to shoes inside the house and she flipped out when I did that. Gave me a whole speech about dog poop etc on outdoor shoes. Oh and you forgot to include bidets. Yeah, thats not something we do in the States and she flipped out about that too lol. Needless to say I am now looking to install bidets. Still, I love her and her yogurt!! (Ayran - that’s all I have to say lol)

I've been living with a Turkish woman for 35 years and I call her 'aşkım'. Big breakfasts are a thing but I've never found her to be jelous or concerned if I was in a social or business environment with women. Long unannounced visits from friends and relatives are also a thing but if I get bored during such a visit I announce that I have an appointment and leave. When I come back 30 minutes later the guest is usually gone.

As an American who for some reason loves tea, never wears outside shoes indoors and would have friends visit late into the evening I’m starting to think I’m secretly Turkish. It’s funny because I used to think I was secretly Chinese with the tea and shoes part. A recent trip to Turkey and this video showed me the truth about myself! 😂

As a Turkish- German guy I can confirm that everything in this great video is absolutely true !! Especially wearing shoes in the flat is simply unacceptable and considered dirty and disrespectful to someone’s home. What maybe could have been shown more was the big Turkish tea obsession and serving dinners with various dishes everyday even if you are just yourselves .when someone comes for dinner a min 3-4 dishes meal is expected and the norm. For Turks there are No limits to hospitality and friendship!! Loved the video and the Turkish ladies ! Tebrikler , çok teşekkür ederim! 😊

Hello, I am Turkish and I have been waiting for this videooo. First i want to say, yes jealousy is a thing but young people are changing and possessiveness becomes less. For example I am not that jealous or possessive because nowadays we see it as being insecure. Secondly, the shoe thing is so true… my boyfriend is Portuguese and we talked about this a lot of times and he was so surprised 😂 as for the series, I myself don’t like them because they’re way too long and way too dramatic but soap operas has their own fanbase that’s true. Other than that, Turkish women are generally really caring, they make breakfast for you, worry about you, hug and kiss you suddenly, sometimes they buy little gifts for you for no reason. Thank you for the video ❤

Putting ur dirty shoes on the table is outrageous. I don't even put my flip flops on it since u use them to walk inside the house and the floor can't be that clean.. Only with socks.
To anyone who finds it weird to put yogurt on sunburn u have no idea how good it is for ur skin. Compared to any pharmaceutical cream it's also cooler, much cheaper, chemicals free and ur very likely to have it in ur fridge.
As a man who hates soap operas it is really easy to get ''reeled'' in the plot. They are lowkey addictive. No wonder Turkish are a bit overdramatic in real life as well. Not that us (Greeks) are any better lol

Also, a very generous Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. Overall, I've noticed that when Turkish Women love their Husbands, they show it; not only do they respect their Husbands as the Head Of The Household, but they are honest and devoted to them). As I am of Sephardic Jewish Descent, not only can I appreciate every one of her customs, but I also add my spice to the mix (Note: With Sephardic Jewish Men, You Get Good Spice). What's very common with Turkish women is, they expect you to behave in a very specific way that pleases them without them asking you to do. You always have to remember to please them without them reminding you, so you have to adjust your lifestyle according to their expectations. First of all: she looks great!
    1. Huge breakfasts
I don't get it. Why would you put all the things you COULD eat for breakfast, not just those you WILL eat for breakfast? I personally choose what will eat BEFORE I start to make breakfast. Serving and putting away all those food untouched take time (that I don't have) and effort (I don't want to put into).
    2. Overprotective and possessive
Both do more harm than good. Also, some say only an insecure person is jealous.
    3. Superstition.
It's stupid. My superstition is that I don't believe in superstition. 🙂
    4. Soap operas.
I watched several of them in my life, I know how easily you could hook up with them (I just want to see what happens). But watching 100+ episodes with a plot you could fit in a two hour movie? Not any more for me.
    5. Shoes.
Honestly I cannot understand how and why people wear shoes inside. It feels much better without it (and probably healthier too). Putting your feet on the table - with or without shoes - is wrong.
    6.
    a) "Did you see how he looked at me?"
And when he didn't, you are offended. 🤨
    b) She expects you to be jealous.
Only an insecure person is jealous. When somebody watch my GF all over, it means I have a good looking GF, and I'm proud of it/her.
    c) Passive agressiveness.
Yeah, because I'm fond of being manipulated.
    7. Yoghurt.
It's yummy, fits with many foods and really good for sunburns.
    8. Visits never end.
As long as they are not annoying and/or bothering me, I'm fine with it.

the huge breakfasts are a cultural thing and believe me the food isn't wasted. We have a word "kahvaltılık" which refers to things you eat in breakfast(olives, cucumbers, honey, cheese etc.) that are stored in little containers. We have a special place only for kahvaltılıks in our fridges and they are mostly served in the amount that is going to be eaten through the week, we fill the little container cups and everybody gets to have a nutritious breakfast! Also, these huge breakfasts are more common in families that have kids. So ig it would make sense for them to consume more food.

      First of all:
Name calling doesn't make you win an argument. It's the opposite. Name calling doesn't make you superior. It's literally the sign of the opposite. So when you're calling me 'girlie' it just puts a smile on my face.😆
      Furthermore.
I don't have to call you anything; your replies describe you perfectly.
I'm not talking nonsense. You are.
I wasn't talking about wasting food (every literate could check it), it's nowhere in my comment. It's only in your head. You're the one who started talking about something that ain't there (wasting food), but you think that I'm talking nonsense???
Let me try simplify it for you to comprehend:
There are three kind of breakfast I could eat (there are plenty more, but I don't want to confuse anybody with too much data). Cereal, scrambled eggs, pastrami sandwich. I'm not going to eat all THREE different kind of food for breakfast, not even TWO, only ONE (mixing any two of the three sound disgusting). So, putting ALL THREE kind of food on the table is pointless, since I'm only going to eat ONE of them. Every other food on the table is unwanted. Every other food on the table will be untouched. Every other food getting out of the fridge/pantry and putting back is unnecessary, hence a meaningless effort.
It's easier to understand if you change food to clothes. No sensible human takes out more than one clothes from the closet/wardrobe, just that one they want to wear.

Yogurt also used for poisoning for back in the day , and i love it .
Forget all the sauces you made with pasta , make a garlic yogurt ,
(garlic ratio for me is 5/1 five spoon of yogurt 1 clove of garlic ) if you like more creamier taste add 1 spoonful of mayo .
Fry the pasta with oil , add 3 fingers up water , let it boil and simmer the water .
once water is gone , let it rest , give a taste (if it didnt burnt your tongue good timing there is your golden award :) )
    Add mixture and mix .
And if you really adventurous , grab a pan as small as possible , (if its smaller than your hand , much better .) Add oil to pan , get some chili flakes , (if you dont know what it is , ask your Turkish or Mexican friends ) . Add some dust mint (ingilizcesini unuttum kdflsjmdksmf) in small heat let it become fragrant , remove heat when oil is sizzling for 30 seconds , if its smokes do not inhale it , bcuz its pretty much Pepper Spray right now haha .
    Pour over the pasta .
