Man I love the way you explain things. A 4 year can understand. That's a testament to your skills and patience. Keep them coming. I sent my daughter your LED videos. She especially like you bed light and states the she will bow have an LED house.
Thank you so much Sherwin Alvarez🙏 This comment means a lot to me. You made my day💯 Very thoughtful of you. I really appreciate your feedback. It gives me motivation to continue with these videos. Very happy your daughter enjoyed the LED videos and I myself want a LED house (Most of my place is covered with LEDs 🤣🤣🤣) Stay safe out there & stay tuned for new videos!🔧
Some 3 phase motors that run at higher voltages will have insulation leaks at higher voltages that a normal ohmeter test cannot detect. This is where you would use whats called a Megger Tester or Megger Ohmmeter. It applies a high voltage 500v 1000v 5kv 10kv to the motor leads/windings and checks for leaking current to ground through the insulation. You can also Megger Test from winding to winding if they are completely determinated from each other.
holy crap thank you so much! i started my apprenticeship 3 weeks ago and I was told to test a motor and I looked like an idiot! They never really explained it to me, but now I understand!
Line to Line, you want small resistance.
Line to ground, you want no reading. Infinite or "OL"
again thank you! you helped me a lot!
Jumper tech. I have seen many similar videos , but this one is presented in a most detailed way .
I am going to study this very well to perform my job in a professional manner like you.
Thanks !!!
the way you explain you makes things become very easy.
I really liked the way you explained in detail. Awesome tutorial!
Finally a straight forward tutorial easy to follow
I’ve watched a lot of your videos. Your a great engineer. Thanks for the awesome videos brother!

This video was great! Thank you for explaining everything so detailed and at a good pace.
Jumper Man I love how you take your time and explain everything. I work in maintenance and work with all phases of motors. You are Not in such a rush. Good video. Well done my Man!
Great video. I am a electrical maintenance technician and the way you explained how to properly and safely test a 3 phase motor is better than I could ever do. I will be referring my coworkers to your video so they can learn the proper way to test a 3 phase motor. If I could add anything, maybe explain how to test the supply wires separately, because I have seen the insulation get scuffed up and short out a drive. Other than that, this is a very beneficial video.
I just started in maintenance with my company, this was. Great video for some intro knowledge while I’m in training. Thanks!
Wind?
Thanks man you are the only one who explaine what to expect when doing this test great job man....
Sweet, keep 'em coming. Very well explained champ! Thumbs up!
Headed to my hot tub right now, multi-meter in hand. Thanks for the lessons.
Great explanation. Thank you. You are now one of my CZcams dads and I love you.

Very simple, to the point and useful. No fluff. Well done.
Best video I've seen clearly and Easley explained and understandable 🙂
Awesome! Glad you enjoyed this video. This is how to check with a multimeter but for the most accurate way to check would be with a megohmmeter. Thanks for watching!
Really appreciate your videos! You would do great up here in Chicago as a stationary engineer. We could use a guy like you!
Thank you Joe! I really appreciate your comment🙏 Means a lot to me. If I ever go to Chicago, I know who to call! Thanks again🙂 Stay safe out there & stay tuned for new videos!

Great video man, I work in industrial maintenance and we deal with similar 3 phase motors. Such a great explanation easy to follow and understand!
I wouldn’t use any if this hacks information
@@johnphillipsjr7238 Don't be salty. A megohmmeter is the way to go but read the details of the video as this IS how to check a 3 phase motor with a multimeter.

Wow that's awesome I could understand it what you're saying 🙌🏼 thank you for the video , most of the people making videos on tech stuff is Arabic people there very smart people, but I can't understand what they're saying 🤦
Awesome information!! My question now is, if a motor is causing the circuit breaker to trip, is that because I’m overloading the circuit with this motor? And if so how can I trouble shoot how many amps is being used by this motor to cause the breaker to trip?
Awesome video
Great Video
Thanks man!
Good video! To confirm the motor has to be wired correctly internally though?
Nice job!!
Good explanation video
4:12 what if the resistances are slightly different? Or what is the threshold for difference before you deem the motor to be bad? Thanks for the vid!
Great video
Thank you
Awesome man!

wow! I love it!
Careful using the 902FC for insulation testing as the maximum resistance for the meter is 60k ohms, any value above this will read open circuit.
Very informative ty
