Islam did make fun of Dustin's black belt and guillotine but he never underestimate Dustin ability as top LW. Just watch Islam's training sessions on CZcams. His coaches always remind them how dangerous their opponent is

Everyone that underestimated their opponent, said before they lost, “I’m not underestimating him” at some point leading up to the fight. Not saying Islam is, I was just saying lol, I’ve watched a lot of shit talking in the ufc, the last interviews before the fight, you’ll hear em say “we’re taking him very serious, I’m not underestimating him at all, I just believe in my abilities” me personally, that’s a read between the lines typa thing, they say the truth in there, but they say so much, you’re left to dissect it, then you have no proof, that’ll keep alot of people from pushing that convo further cause they don’t wanna end up looking foolish
This happens every fight from any of the Russian AKA fighters. Khabib, Islam, Umar, Usman. Charles said he felt like his skills were being underestimated, this turned out to not be the case, Islam respected him to the point that he knew what to do on the ground.
Confidence in ones own abilities is not disrespect in your opponent's.
I think it's clear from every fight we've ever seen not just of Islam's but also from Khabib Umar and Usman that they are going to prepare the utmost for this fight
When i see footage of poirier training .. its not going to help him .. the coach throw coloured tennis balls.. and poirier stand with one foot and catch the coloured balls and his another foot try to step up on a coloured plate on the floor..

One can make comments about Paulo Costa's losses but that guy has been in some great fights. I felt the same way about Rapheal Dos Anjos. Many losses but an exciting fighter. I think the Costa/Strickland fight looks pretty sick. Hope Dustin wins but I the only way he wins, IMO, is an anomaly, which can happen but that is a long shot..., a very long shot. But let's face it, Dustin will be loved win, lose or draw.

I really hope Dustin gets the job done...but this is a tough test. I would be so happy for him, I will be on the edge of my seat for this one with fingers crossed. What you forgot to say about the Kebab fight Mike is that Dustin almost got him in that submission. Closest anyone has come IMO (Though I didn't watch the 23 taxi drivers that Kebab fought to get his 30 - 0 record).
Anyone with serviceable eyes knows Strickland did not lose to DDP. So ghey these wildly inconsistent decisions.
At the end of the fight Strickland and his team thought he probably lost. You could see it in their demeanor. Service your eyes. And quit being a fairy for Strickland. It's pathetic at this point.
5:04 To be fair for just a second, Bisping, I do believe that Chito's daughter was in the crowd at 299 and while he DID lose to Sean I think the only reason he stayed up after that knee to the face was the fact he refused to get KO'd in front of her. With that said there has to be some level of pressure present, but that may not be the case for everyone. I wouldn't know but this is just my guess

A bit of a test for the Diamond because like me, I am focused on the fact that Islam got knocked out, and that is the hole in his game. But too much focus on that could take away from the takedown game, and that's a boring fight.

Dude I hate when people act like there is a max number of title fights you can earn key fuckin word EARN. So here's the thing it's Dustin's last chance if he decides to not fight 2 more top ten lightweight if he does lose like you all decided he will do already. Another thing people should do is sit down with someone that knows what they watching in a mma fight if you don't know and watch the DP vs Charles fight and act like DP didn't get fucked outta finishing Charles with ground£ until the ref decided to take a smoke break or where ever he went while DP was trying to show him that Charles panic cheated the fuck outta getting finished by grabbing on to DP gloves for about 8 fuckin critical seconds that literally anyone who understands the game will clearly see changed from DP ground£ing Charles through the canvas to Charles grabbing on for dear life to Dustin's glove until finally cheating his way to top control changing the whole fuckin momentum and result of who the real champ should have been if they had someone reffing that fight. By the way the only person besides Joe Rogan to bring this shit up is myself which really amazes me bc I figured fight fans and especially mma vets and mma media watched fights with there eyes open but clearly I was wrong. And I'm not taking a shot at anyone specific but man it just sucks to know that nobody mentions this every time the Dustin vs Charles gets mentioned. When Dustin fought conor theor first time, he was super nervous. In the rematch he knew what he was against. When he fought Khabib he was nervous, didn't get the chance for a rematch.
