  • Strasbourg is the capital of the Alsace region of France and is known for its beautiful old town. Other walk around the old town are here: • Walking in STRASBOURG ... and • Walking in STRASBOURG ...
    We start this evening walk at the Heinrichsturm - one of several towers bordering the town. We walk around in "Petite France" which is a lively historic quarter of the city. Many restaurants invite tourists and locals along cobble stoned streets. Encircled by the arms of the river Ill this part of the old town is especially picturesque.
    We head towards the centre and see the impressive Cathédrale Notre-Dame. We also walk to Kléber square which is the largest square of the city. The streets of Strasbourg get quieter during the evening. The time comes to return to the cathedral where we end this walk.

    Wow such a beautiful tour at a beautiful time of day. I love the sound of kids playing as you pass the school contrasted with the medieval historic buildings. I’d love to sit in the café, enjoy a glass of wine, and watch the city live stream by. Thanks so much for posting. - Henry

      Hi, Henry. This is the sort of audio quality I'd love to hear with all videos no matter from what channel they come, because it's so much easier on the ears. Plus, for people who are totally blind, it's how we "see" the video, because we can follow the sound. When the audio is just coming through both speakers but doesn't move around like this does, it's incredibly stagnant. If you listen to any videos where the audio is like that, you might be able to see people moving around, but you can't follow the sound with your ears, because the sound is compressed. It also sounds as if it's stuffed between both ears at the top of your head. The problem with this is that the sound is so concentrated into the inner ears. Because of this, people usually hear a hissing or buzzing sound after they take off the headphones or earbuds. Some even develop a dull headache. I've always had a lot of trouble with this type of audio and for good reason. It's the #1 reason people can lose their hearing if they play the volume too loud. It's also the quickest way to damage peoples' hearing. Now you know.

We were staying in Paris and only came to Strasbourg for one overnight stay, but I have to say that our memories of Strasbourg are more special to us than Paris. The sheer beauty of the city was like a fairy tale village come to life.

    Amazing audio work! Everyone needs to make videos with this kind of quality audio, especially for anyone who's totally blind, because we hear everything as if we're right there with you. Everyone should be able to pick up the audio like this, because it's like 3D, and you'll never get this type of sound with a GoPro.

      Wow, thank you! I'm happy you also like the audio! During the UK trip in October 2019 I actually found out to filter more wind noise by wrapping the Zoom H1 body into some fabric additionally to the wind muff I always had. I also find the audio important and enjoy the city sounds though in quieter areas my loudness levels make my breathing or steps get a bit too noticable. Thanks for the comment! I'm happy when viewers notice the audio quality 😎

      Thank you! I believe that light was a warning light for those moving metal blocks/poles which can close a road. There are round metal poles on some streets which can go up and down to allow only certain vehicles access to parts of the city or parking spots. Once the car has passed they go up again - so any time somebody activates them and something moves in the road there is some warning

    Strasbourg is a beautiful city. We were there two years ago. If I may make a couple suggestions, please slow down your camera moves when you're walking along and especially panning. It's a little dizzying. And when you come upon a picture perfect scene- example 4:05, please stop and let us take it in for a few seconds. At that moment we really needed to breathe and take in the beauty, but your camera never stopped- right, down, then right, and past that beautiful scene of the canal. And as you pan around on that same shot, at 4:25 on the other side of the bridge is a scene of breathtaking beauty, but you never stopped and held on it. Nice sharp footage, but please slow it down!

    • @poptravelorg
      @poptravelorg  Před 3 lety

      Thanks for the suggestions. I pan slower on new videos though I'll still post more from 2019. The stopping and breathing at nice sites is something I also have to do more. There are 3 videos of Strasbourg in total from one day there - one left to post. For now I can only suggest to slow down the video with Shift + , (Shit +. or ; to increase) or use Pause. Different people are interested in different sites. I'll see to get better camera movements so thanks for your comment

      The alsacian language is western german dialect
      One very popular alsacian named Arsene Wenger. If you know england football world. You know him. He speak alsacian. Which is basicaly german. And is able to speak german well by speaking alsacian
      So that mean the original alsacian are germanic people with german culture. Who got into France rule by military forces
      France isnt an angel like its like to say. Remember after ww2. They refused to give vietnam. Laos. Cambodia. Algeria independance. And those countries had to do bloody war and win it to be free. All that while crying about german of ww2 😂

      @@mathewvanostin7118 Yes I know that it became french by military force, just like many other places got conquered at some point. That was more than 3 centuries ago. All I am saying is that now, and for quite some time already, we like that we are part of France. Some people want independance but they are not many and I've never met someone who wants to be part of Germany. So as I said we are french with a strong mixed culture and proud of our mixed culture.
      Yes alsacian is a germanic language, just like in the south east of France there are dialects close to italian or in the south west they are close to spanish, but we are all french.
