The song is referring to the Iraq/Afghanistan War, and this is absolutely an anti-war song. It's talking about American soldiers being deployed and developing PTSD from what they've been instructed to do. "The war is over" refers to President Bush declaring the war over, when really it continued for years. "I need a gun" refers to the fear-mongering in America during the war that they were in danger and that the war was to protect them. "All I want to do is dance" is the desire to live outside of that fear. The children are referring to kids that grew up watching the war unfold, being fed propaganda and growing up afraid.
I finally understood the meaning thanks!
Also, "I'm the reason that you fill up your Isuzu; chill with your old lady at the tilt!" - arguing that the war was fought for cheap oil and gas, driven by unchecked consumption.
