    Your review helped me get one @$199. After 1 week it's losing about 5sec / day. My SNK809 loses 5sec / mo after 6yr ownership. Love the hacking movement and improved water resistance. Styling is spot-on for my taste. Flat crystal would make face more visible while dome lets clothing slide right over. Love the blue theme & orange accents. Get the Havestoton Military card deck.

    Great review, I have just ordered one. I already own an SRPG27, which is a bit dressier (with the more polished features) but really love the fliger style and brushed touches (blue/orange looks great too). Can't wait to get it.

    I've been trying to get my hands on the black and orange SRPH33K. Living in Australia we always seem to be the last ones to get anything new. Anyway, Seiko Australia finally received some stock and I should have it by the end of next week. Can't wait.

      Nice, let me know your impressions. I love the look of the black and orange one!

      @@JustWatches1 I got it today. It's not what I expected. Firstly, being in Australia we get the Malaysian assembled version. Nowhere does it say Japan. Pretty annoyed about that. The lume on this doesn't seem that bright. No even close to the videos I've watched on here. Not sure whether that's due to it's origin. Out sourced watches in shitty boxes. That's what we get here. You wanted me to let you know my impressions. I was excited, I'm not now.

    • @JustWatches1
      @JustWatches1  Před 2 lety +1

      @@mattede8744 oh no, that’s a huge bummer. So one thing with the lume is that orange lume is less bright than green and blue, the upside is it looks cool. The made in Malaysia v Japan is also frustrating especially if you thought you were getting a Japan version. Can you return it and get something else!?

    • @mattede8744
      @mattede8744 Před 2 lety

      @@JustWatches1 Thanks for the info on the lume. I still do like the orange on the black. As for it's origin, I'm going to get onto Seiko Australia and find out. Thanks for replying.

    Seiko needs to build a real no-date hand-wound movement and lose 3-4 mm off the thickness.

  • @bengalvin71
    @bengalvin71 Před 6 měsíci +1

    Seiko has a date only window (no day) on the seiko 5 gmt they recently released.
    So I’m guessing they see the day/date single window thing as more of a guideline than a rule these days. 🤔
    I agree, this watch would be way better with no day or date for the type of watch it references.

    • @JustWatches1
      @JustWatches1  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Oh wow, I didn't realize this. They are breaking their Seiko 5 rule, haha!

  • @haping1
    @haping1 Před 2 lety +6

    It's a good looking watch with perfect size. A few cons for me: 1st is the price compared to what you get here. A saphire cristal and signed crown should be included if Seiko wants to upgrade It's brand. Nowadays it is standard for other (micro) brands.
    2nd. The height is too large. No see through caseback is a much better option. Who wants to see the NH36 anyway🤔

    • @JustWatches1
      @JustWatches1  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes for the MSRP this can't compete with most microbrands. The watch is very tall, no argument there.

      I and other newcomers want to see any movement so yes me

    • @RusselKabirTR
      @RusselKabirTR Před 9 měsíci

      Entry level watches should always include the see through feature because many newcomers as well as people who don't want to spend lots of money on different watches and just want to buy one watch will appreciate the feature. They can always release variations of the models where there's no see-through case back.

    Some of the versions of this watch are OK for the price, but I really don't like the fake flieger style dial on what should be a field watch. Aside from being historically wrong, it's way too crowded and difficult to read.

    I'm in the US they’re selling under 180 USD now for Black Friday . Can we get the Day in English on the calendar? Can we hand wind for the reserve of 40 hours because I don't wear watches all the time ?

    • @JustWatches1
      @JustWatches1  Před rokem

      Sorry for the late response. Yes, you can hand wind these up for the full 40 hours. I tend to just wind it a few times and set the time, Seiko movements auto winding from you moving is really, really good.

  • @affandih

    I like this watch but when I check the text on the bottom doesnt have written Made in Japan in some store, is that a fake?

    • @JustWatches1
      @JustWatches1  Před 2 měsíci

      From my understanding, and I could be wrong, only J serial Seiko watches have the made in Japan designation. They have factories elsewhere, that make legit Seiko watches, but don't put made in Japan on the dial, and the serial number will have a K designation.

  • @lulul
    @lulul Před 2 lety +2

    This one feels too generic to me, the snk80x feels special because of the size, sandblasted finish, simple case, flat crystal and flat dial colors and the price it used to go for.. And it looked perfect on a military nato strap.. If I were to choose I'd get the srpg (field type) which is the same watch but with better lume and a little more character.. The srpe (dressKX) is the best of the new models and has a lot of seiko in it.. This one in particular doesn't look like a seiko, it just looks like another modern watch..

    • @JustWatches1
      @JustWatches1  Před 2 lety +1

      You are right on point for the SNK80X series, they felt way more toolish. These newer ones are brighter colors and lose the feel of the old series. I haven't got my hands on a dressKX, but they look great I agree!
