I like your channel. I made 9 bags as Christmas gifts last year from your channel. I'm making fabric cuts to start this bag...it's what I've been looking for, for myself. I have one question tho. When you iron the gusset and pocket seams, you are ironing to the light side. Why don't you iron to the dark side, like in quilting? Is that just a preference??

For your questions about seam ironing. It's depends on the appropriateness of each style. For this bag, I chose to iron on a light colored fabric because dark colored fabric is very thick. Ironing it to darker color side will make the fabric layer too thick and will then make it more difficult when sewing together with other piece.
