I just found out how deep it goes and I can't stop digging. They're so much more than music, and it's emotional and inspiring. It makes me appreciate them as a band so much more to see how much has been put into everything they've done

The song was actually inspired by Tyler getting his Car Radio stolen in college at Ohio State - but the song is more about what it represented to him - his ability to escape from what he had going on in his life - so a person's "Car Radio" can be different for everyone - could be working out, reading, doing CZcams reactions, etc - so if that's taken away from you, can you handle what's really going on in your life
Also as someone who already suffered from depression myself, getting stuck with your own thoughts can be a very dangerous situation. Like Chester once wisely said, "this place is a bad neighborhood" pointing to his head.
I had my radio stolen once. The deafening silence on the drive home really put a lot of things into perspective.
I hope whoever stole it enjoyed the five finger death punch CD that was in it, or sold it for a good meal.

Bang on. This is in my top 10 songs. I feel anyone could relate to this tune at some point in life.
You guys figured it out; in silence, he's stuck with his thoughts which can get really dark and scary. He puts the face cover on when in the presence of others in order to feel emotionally safe. The whole thing is a metaphor for how we distract ourselves from ourselves and the racing thoughts we feel we can't control as well as the anxiety we have when feeling vulnerable. At least that is my take on it. Gotta do some more 21 Pilots! Good reaction!
This is my first exposure to 21 Pilots and I must say that this tune is the most horribly-beautiful, painfully-accurate description of intrusive thoughts I've ever heard. Even the fidgety-hand. The palpable anxiety. I really need to look into these guys!

As someone who has struggled with depression and suicidal ideation most of my life, I love this song. It's such an accurate representation of mental health struggles.

Y'all need to understand that this band, consisting of only two members, does not have a genre. No one reacting to them on CZcams has ever put them in one category solely. Josh Dunn is on drums and is damn good! Tyler Joseph plays several instruments, and writes all their songs. Every song they have sounds completely different. Y'all want bars? Check out Lane Boy. One of their best songs and music videos, imo. After Lane Boy, check out Heavy Dirty Soul. Their fan base, songs, style, and music videos are like no other. Again, PLEASE 🙏, Lane Boy. Thanks, fellas!

this band is so good, honestly i love them so much. alot of people ive seen write them off because of stressed out and the overplaying of it but honestly they are really talented and alot of their songs are bops.
Lead singer has an amazing gift in terms of musical artistry and dark complex lyrical content within his songs. Probably the most vital band of the last decade. They have many popular songs that are overplayed and people mistake them as "mainstream" u know - poppy sounding, the shit u hear on radio. Not at all. This is probably the only band in the world who has all of their songs sounding different YET THEY are all so good. If you want to hear rollercoaster of sounds where each song sounds different. Try : Morph, My Blood, Bandito, Ode To Sleep, Doubt, Fairly Local, The Hype (Berlin) , maaaan i could go on for days. This band is definetly super impressive. It will grow on you just dont stop listening to them

If you like the diversity and lyrical complexity I can also recommend Ren, he's far from mainstream or overplayed, but I have found quite a few clikkies (such as myself) really enjoy his work, because it shares some similar qualities with TØPs catalogue.

This song is a true story about how Tyler's car radio was actually stolen and he couldn't afford to replace it and he realised how much he used music to distract him from his thoughts. I love how they use their songs to encourage people to think and not try to avoid your thoughts and problems but confront and fight against them and question the things other people and even your own brain tells you. They really have amazing energy live, would have been cool to be at this show.

Twenty One Pilots are amazing, I am personally not that big of a fan of their music in this stage. Lead singer was very depressed but other than this period they are amazing IMO. Saw them live like a month ago and they perform like nobody else.
Yall just discovered a really special band, my favorite of all time. Their lyrics hit deep, the beat is always fire. Their concert are out of this world, I hope you guys dive deeper in this rabbit hole !

I took the song as we listen to music to distract ourselves. Without it, when we are sitting in silence, our mind begins thinking about everything, things we like and things we dislike. It makes you look at yourself and judge yourself and everything around you. If you are in a bad place, the mind thinking can be a dangerous thing.

They have been a huge help,for me to stay alive,and understand parts of me,that I never understood,and was ashamed of,all of my life.... Baby brothers, I’ve been waiting for you guys to do Twenty One Pilots! I loved watching all of your faces go from smiling, to concern/thoughtful, especially my man in the Cant Fold shirt, your face was so serious and thoughtful the whole time 🥰 I’ve been a fan of them for years, for one because the beats are seriously amazing, and two, because they sing about mental illness and the struggles of it, and that hits seriously close to home for me. Their music has helped a lot of people, especially young adults, through some very dark times.
Went to my first twenty one pilots concert in pittsburgh and it was tremendous, Stressed out got them famous for sure, but Car Radio and Trees are two of my favorite songs. Definitely gives a mental health relation vibe. I recommend Stressed Out, Trees, Morph, No Chances, Redecorate, Formidable, etc.

Saw them in Anaheim after dying to see them for years , best day of my life. Twenty One Pilots music affected me so deeply because of all the crap that goes on in my mind for so long and Tyler’s life experiences and lyricism is so just like amazing and its helped me know I’m not alone during tough times. There was a time I knew every single one of their songs word for word, I forgot a little of some songs that I don’t listen to as often but for the most part I still do. I screamed and sang my heart out at the concert haha. 100% recommend their music.

ToP is one of the best bands to come out of the the late 2000s! Tyler is not only the lead singer/songwriter, but he also composes and plays all of the music, both instruments and digital. He also does all the producing on every track. Josh's one job is to play the drums and he MURDERS that job! He's easily one of the better drummers alive. They put a lot of meaning into each of their songs. A vast majority of their songs are bangers. Some of my favorites excluding Stressed out and Car Radio include: Heathens, Ride, Heavydirtysoul, Tear in My Heart, Lane Boy, Level of Concern, The Hype (Berlin Session), Jumpsuit, Ode to Sleep, House of Gold, Fairly Local, Levitate, Nico and the Niners, Addict with A Pen and A Car, A Torch and A Death. They're really hard to pin to any one genre they just play what they want to play as long as it lives up to their standards and so far it's been an amazing experience!

his hair coming back at the end is basically showing that he can go out and put on a mask and hide who he really is - but when he takes that mask off - he's back to the same nervous guy in the corner of the bathroom from the beginning
you notice in the song when it gets hyped at the end, you sort of forget what the message is because you're distracted with the music - then it ends with all that loudness going away and it's back to him just by himself
