Gradey Dick's activity on the court made a big difference in the first two games despite no 3's made, he was a nightmare. His not being there made a big difference to this summer squad.

He made a huge difference, you're telling me the moment he's not on the floor in the last 2 games they just magically sucked all of the sudden. He did all of the intangibles things on the floor to help them win those first 2 games.

This guy is 24 years old with multiple seasons of experience in the nba, yet he still manages to look WORSE than an average role player in summer league. Let’s not forget that the Jazz selected Isaiah Collier with the pick we gave up too. Masai missed with this one.
Some ppl play better with better players, and more structured play. Seen it in other sports as well. Hockey especially. Players in the AHL struggling in the farm league, then thriving in the NHL.
Summer league means nothing. It's always better to do good, but when that ain't the case in summer league, who cares.
Agbaji flat out SUCKS!!!!!. At least some of these other guys are rookies and are fairly young. Agbaji is the next Flynn. A player the Raptors are going to hold onto way too long. Sure he can defend but so could Stanley Johnson who Masai thought was the next OG. I’m sick of the obsession this organization has with guys like Agbaji that can’t do anything on offense but we plan to teach them everything offensively. This man is not a rookie. He’s pushing 25!! Mogbo i can understand because he’s young and a rookie. McCaw, Bonga, Stanley Johnson, Agbaji.. you see a pattern here ? picking up these guys that’s been in the league for a while who can defend and thinking we can teach them how to become scores when no other team can. I’m sick of this flawed obsession with these type of players. This guy Agbaji is a 3rd year player in summer league looking worst than all the rookie that we played against from a “weak draft class”. He looks worst than Bronny and most 2nd round picks. If I see this guy playing like this in preseason and we don’t waive him I don’t know what Masai’s obsession is with him. How does this guy look worst than undrafted players ? I honestly believe Nwora was better than him.

Although i am slightly worried about ochai's performances, i do think he is one of the players that needs to have to teammates to perform well. Hopefully im right
Sad to say but Ochai needs a season in the g.... Carlson has promise, I think him with real players will unlock his talents. Ja'kobe looks lost but have high hopes he figures it all out. Prepare for another rough year ppl
Somthin people struggle to understand is that ochai isn’t a star guy who creates points for himself he is a 3&D player. Ik people are gonna say he can’t nock down the 3 after seeing his 3pt% in the summer league but you if you watched the tape you’d see he was taking some pretty wild 3s that doesn’t take in the nba. He plays different in SL than the normal nba. Y’all just gotta realize he a catch and shoot 3&D guy. His defence Is phenomenal.

If you know basketball you would never panic, it's Summer League which means it's all about development for these young guys. The reason why we played so well the first 2 games was because of Gradey Dick, he made the game easier for everybody else with his experience on the floor, even when he didn't shoot well, he still contributed in other ways. These guys have no chemistry with each other, so it looks that way on the floor. Give them some games together, and you won't see this ever happen again. I still like some of the guys individually like Carlson, Shead, Walter, and Commie.

Scottie was a great pick, he didn't have to pick him at #4. Remember when a lot of casual Raptors fans were expecting Jalen Suggs or Josh Giddey?
Ja'Kobe is definitely going to be a problem, it's still hard to believe that we got him at #19. I'm liking Carlson too, that was a major steal.

Dudes like you will bring up his performance from 2 seasons ago with a different organization and try to pretend he was better than our best and most consistent shooter on the team. Gary was literally a top 10 perimeter defender statistically just a few seasons ago too. If every season the team decreases your role for no reason, just to play Pascal at the 5 and have no court spacing. You will obviously lose motivation to give effort on defense, they are humans and not robots…
It takes two to make a deal. We weren't there in the office. The rumour is that he asked for $25 million and the Raptors offered $15 million. There is no proof of this anywhere. But there are many players that have accepted less money to play on a contender rather than a below average team. It would seem like his agent didn't read the market well, but again, we don't really know. I think it's obvious Toronto would have picked him up for a minimum contract in two seconds if Gary's agent was willing to get him to sign for that in Toronto. But it doesn't look like they ever had an opportunity to do that.

Masai lost GTJ for nothing, failed to trade Bruce Brown, drafted a bunch of nobody's, and didn't sign a single NBA caliber free agent. We're literally worse going into next season. Good job Masai.

GTJ signed a vet minimum, that shows his current value. Bruce Brown can still be traded. What free agent would want to come to a small market rebuilding team. Remember, Siakam, FVV, Norm were all nobodies at first as well. I agree the front office have been bad as of late but they finally let go of the retooling era and are officially focusing on a rebuild.

Ochai Agbaji is 6'4 and couldn't shoot. Why would y'all think he was gonna be an effective NBA player? Id trade all these scrub new additions to have Trent back. We WILL be in the running for top pick next draft!!!
Its the summer league chill - none of it matters. These are all young dudes who are gonna need to develop. Yeah it was terrible, is what it is, they're gonna have to grow.

Ochai is kind of like Precious.....Insane athletic ability, full of potential and can guard multiple positions. And much like Precious, his court IQ sometimes leave you shaking your head. I really hope he smarten up because his ceiling is f#cking high, but if he don't catch on this year, I think that's it for him as a Raptor. If they got rid of Precious, whom Masai was very high on, they will certainly get rid of him.....
Ochai is so much worse than I thought. Not really having a major problem with any of the other guys because they are rooks, but man Ochai is ass. He doesn’t look anything close to an nba player. He’s averaging less points than Bronny on equivalent efficiency.

We got outcoached... even our "highlights" are forced 2s and 1 on 3 baskets.
nobody looked great. I'm more concern about Carlson because his defense and game disappeared against a more physical team. Nobody was able to do anything out there including Freeman-Liberty and Ja'kobe Walter who only does the scoring but isn't shown to do anything else (you can compare that to Gradey Dick... even when his shots aren't falling he goes for the O-board, get steals, pass, move the ball, etc).
Basically we aren't here to win the summer league but in terms of showcasing talent... there isn't a lot of talent on the raptors bench and our true concern is not having a suitable backup point guard.
If Agbaji is projected as Dillon Brooks with an actual personality? I'll take it I guess for a low first round pick...

There's the rub. The only way they become terrible enough to be a bottom five is getting rid of Scottie and IQ. But they are the entertainment value for this team and the Raptors are in the entertainment business. But if you trade everyone to get a lottery ticket for Cooper Flagg is this a better path to success? Maybe. But even if your lottery numbers come up, you will have Cooper Flagg and a bunch of G-leaguers. Maybe you get lucky and win a second lottery in 2026. But as Detroit and Washington keep proving to us - winning lotteries only helps when the draft is full of stars. It's a tough league for non-famous franchises to get to a championship level. It's easier to dig your way out of the lottery, very tough to become a contender.
It reminds me of the Washington Wizards when they had Beal and John Wall. Always around 10-6 seed . Now raps probably will be around 10

And the players that are mostly younger than Scottie are being projected to develop. Scotties playing style is going to be fully realized. 👌

This season is shaping up to be a disaster. Last year’s squad minus Gary Trent does not inspire confidence. A complete snore of an off-season as far as I’m concerned. My guess is that the Raptors will be pretty much rock bottom this year.
