    I subscribed and gave the video a thumbs up. But why not use the striker the ferro rods often comes with? If you ever have to sharpen your spine in the field you came unprepared or you have lost some luggage. Decide beforehand if you want to use the spine of the knife or a striker. I understand that Mora's are rather new to you but my oldest Mora is 45+ years old and used Mora since. Other brands also because for that 10 dollar there you get a Hultafors GK here.

      @@RamshackleHomesteadKeithandJen Yes. If you take a bit care of them they do last a long time. Funny fact is that back in the days a lot of Swedes bought them by the dozen and had one lying around everywhere and when one was dull they just threw it away and took a new one. I'm talking the 510/511 models. They did not even take the time out of their day to sharpen them.

    Will freshing-up the 90 degree spine of your knife in this way ruin the file on your Leatherman?

    • @RamshackleHomesteadKeithandJen
      @RamshackleHomesteadKeithandJen  Před 5 lety +1

      bgurtek I cannot imagine it would. It’s made for metal removal. As with any file be sure to push it the right direction. I’ve got an original Leatherman that after about 25yrs of regular use I finally snapped the file.

      I got to the link but before I commit to buying, I asked a question to the seller and have yet to get an answer, maybe you can answer instead.
      Does the sheath only come made for wearing on the right hip or any way to get a left handed sheath?
      Or is the knife able to be reversed in the sheath so it can readily fit the left hand when drawn?

    • @RamshackleHomesteadKeithandJen
      @RamshackleHomesteadKeithandJen  Před 5 lety

      Unfortunately, no they are all set up right handed. I’m ( Jen) a lefty too , so I totally understand.

    • @HWhit9000
      @HWhit9000 Před 5 lety

      Seems like the older I get, the harder it is to find things made for left handed people.
      Even though it's been medically proven that the left side of the brain controls the right side of the body and the right side of the brain controls the left side. Which means that we lefties are the only ones that are in the right frame of mind.. lol
