    So I see a lot of people misunderstanding what I am saying here. So let me clarify, putting the probes or a probe in the probe holder while taking a measurement is a way to eliminate the path through the heart issue. So if you put one probe in the probe holders and use you hand to hold the other probe you are safer than using your two hands to hold the probes. Obviously you can’t put both probes in the holders for most applications of measurement (perhaps a couple cases). But keeping one probe in the holder is a very good way to increase safety while taking a measurement.

      Correct, obviously that is not always needed, but when measuring electrical panels or when you want to hold the meter and the probes it saves you from using own hand (so comes in handy 😜)

    I've been doing HVAC for over 15 years and I know many many people who have been doing it for 30 and 40 years. I have never heard of voltage taking the path through your heart and out the other side by using two hands and checking high voltage

    • @HTMWorkshop
      @HTMWorkshop  Před rokem +3

      Well I hope you have heard of the one hand rule…you may not know the physics of the one hand rule but the reason it exists is that if one hand touches hot and the other touches ground (or neutral) then the path of current goes through the heart. If you have never heard of the one hand rule look it up…doesn’t mean you can’t use two hands - I do it all the time …just need to be more careful when poking around with your probes

    1. You cant measure high voltage with a multimeter. Only low voltage
    3. Low voltage doesn't kill you even if the path is through your heart unless you are wet
    2. Medium and high voltage doesn't need to complete the path through your heart. Once you get very close to it you're dead
