    Los ví en Tudela de Duero, cerca de Valladolid, España. Tenían un directo bestial, uno de los mejores que recuerdo. Y una actitud arrogante a más no poder. Puro R&R

    These guys were so lit. And Peter is an ace front man, very original in his vocal delivery a la John lydon. Saw them in Philly during the More Songs tour, sounded great.

    DEJA VU ALL OVER AGAI! I saw the band on this tour at the starry night in Portland Oregon. same clothes and everything!! I got to go upstairs and meet them after the gig. . the brothers, the vocalist and the lead guitarist were not fond of one another. the singer was a prima donna - he was so BORED with it all.... he knew he was a jerk and didn't care. that attitude drove the guitar playing brother nuts - he was very friendly...they had nieces and nephews the same age as my son and we laughed at the things that little boys could get into. plus we were both really into roots reggae . he talked about missing his family - big family.. I took 4 members of the band, including the "nice" coyne brother, to Powells bookstore at about 1am - , we had a blast..standing outside having a smoke, we .got mooned by a load of people in a passing van - the guys loved it..the best break on tour they had...they were really relaxed when I brought them to their hotel.
    I saw them again same tour at the tail end and man they were burnt out. the brothers were at each other's throat and everybody hated the singer - he was so critical of everything. I mentioned to the guitar playing brother I had been reading that many up and coming grunge/punk bands were citing the godfathers as influences on their music. he was genuinely touched and surprised,. they really did a grind on that tour. I got a note from their manager a few months later saying the brothers had split and the band was over...I lost track after that....

    I only saw them live once. And, it might very well been this tour had that one come through Atlanta, Ga. I recall it was in August and the A/C in that little club wasn't working well. . if at all. Everyone was sweating like pigs. Nonetheless, I remember the show as being very good. Upbeat and full of energy. It's too bad they didn't hit around the early '80s or even a bit later. By the time they peaked, grunge was taking over. Fond memories of this song.

    one of my favorite bands of the 80s. and there weren't too many of them, why didn't they make any music videos from the decade of "music videos?"

    • @domestikgoddez9823
      @domestikgoddez9823 Před rokem

      they did a video of Birth School Work Death and "Cause I Said So' - a song my 10 yr old loved and pitted me against.
      i worked at a quirky little tv station, KOZY TV and we were sent both Godfather videos on the professional huge cartridge tape format.
      Promotors did that and there weren't too many music video shows besides MTV - we broke the godfathers and A-Has" hit Take on Me." we even had an actual rotoscoped cell from their video. framed up on the wall.
