  • I've been seeing some comments lately that indicate the top speed of the DJI Avata 2 might be limited. The speculation is the top speed of the CE version of the drone is lower than the FCC version.

if you know proficient drone pilots, it would be nice to see what your avata 2 is capable of in their hands in fpv mode

Awesome video! I was wondering about this exact thing and nobody has yet done a video showcasing the actual max speed in manual. Please do a video on how to setup the FCC unlock and in general about the ham licensing. Such a video would be a miracle for all the CE Avata 2 users.

Quick tip how to know if your Avata 2 is not speed limited: Are you using MPH -> Not limited. KPH / MPS -> Chances are it's limited.

  • @realbano

I talked to DJI and ask how that Speed Limitation works. It’s controlled by GPS. If the drone recognises that it’s in the EU it’s switched automatically to the slow setting and outside to the fast setting.

BUT UK is NOT in CE now? you dont need Hack , Have you test it Before put the Hack, what was the max speed before ? here in France the power is limited not only the speed, all time stick in max hight to fly .... no reserve of power, the Hack dont unlock the power limitation 😞 ... think about your holiday in France before laughing!!

  • @Lhaffinatu

    Yep, its fast.

  • @et1965

Push this button here? You did that a couple of times without showing what button where :)

  • @snozes4876

You live in uk so no speed limit...

That was yaw wash out. DJI still don't really know how to pid tune yaw for more authority.

  • @HamTechRadioScannerDrones

All interesting will you keep the avata 1?

  • @garethjones1

Hi, is there a acro mode height limit like the original dji fpv did? or can you go up to 120 m in acro? cheers

  • @JasonSturgess

I am finding when I give the drone full throttle it just rises up fast ? Do I need it in manual mode to be able to tilt the fpc direction up or down ?

If you do update the drone using the ham file hack can you revert it back after or are you stuck with it now always being at the higher speed?

  • @LowryDroneography-Steve

Nice flying man! Bloody love this drone. Done a couple of videos myself. Had to get the RC3 straight away, couldn’t wait 😅

  • @twrmoor

Nice first manual flight, I got out today as well for the first time in ages with my Avata 1 it was great fun.

    Hi Andy. Great video!

  • @juliansjames

Great info Andy - thank you! As others have said, a video on FCC unlock (which file you're using etc) and HAM licencing would be really helpful. I've started doing some research and it appears that I'd need a Full UK Amateur Radio License to legitimately use the FCC unlock file. Is that your understanding of the law?

Wow I’m absolutely amazed by your great FPV flying ability in this video! Wow! I just bought the DJI FPV controller 3 which I’ll only start flying slowly with after developing proper skills by practicing a lot with flight simulators before hand! I purchased the Avata 2 fly combo which is arriving in a few days! ❤️❤️ I live north of Montreal Quebec Canada where we have FCC so i know in manual mode I’ll be able to fly it super fast! I have the Mini 3 Pro and Mavic 3 for almost 2 years so I’m good in camera drone flying but I know that FPV flying skills is on a much more higher challenging level! I’ll do all the proper steps to help build up my FPV skills! This will be my first FPV flying so I’m aware of the risks and the proper educational process to be able to do it!

Is yours missing the foam insert for the googles?
