Nuremberg Trial Day 199 (1946) Field Marshal Walther von Brauchitsch Direct Dr. Hans Laternser

On Aug. 8, 1946, Dr. Hans Laternser, counsel for the Defense of the General Staff and High Command, called as his first witness, Field Marshal Walther von Brauchitsch, Commander-in-Chief of the German Army during the years of 1936-41. He testified concerning the Western Offensive in 1940, Hitler and the Soviet Union, Einsatzkommandos, Waffen SS, and resistance to the Commissar Order.

To preserve it for the public. And probably you might fund someone to translate and subtitle all testimonies to any language you can afford. BTW, I can understand everything and find it fascinating.

One would think that would be a good idea for a billion people to understand internationally, for this essential documentary film from that time in my grandpa's generation, the testimony during that essential trial that ended major war and racial genocide to be justified in any form whatsoever.

@@Evinruderascal You are right. The films were just in my father's generation. All of these Nuremberg films need to be seen. There are films that have simultaneous translations in English in subtitles. You will have to hunt around for them. I've seen many of them.

Ja. Ist mir auch aufgefallen. Alle führenden in der Wehrmacht haben so geredet. Wirklich. Interviews aus den 70er u 80er belegen das. Fürchterlich.

Ja. Tatsächlich ist das so und mein Großvater hat es mir so erklärt, dass Rhetorik Bestandteil der Offiziersausbildung war. Der hat zum Teil auch noch so gesprochen, wenn er längere Sachen schildern wollte.
Hört mal genau hin, der benutzt kein einziges Mal ein "ääh" oder dergleichen. Dafür halt immer diese langsam gesprochenen Schachtelsätze mit den Nachdenkzeiten. Irre.
