  • What do you drink when you're sick? Try this tea next time you're under the weather. An easy home remedy that anyone can make! Most people will have everything they need right in their own pantry/spice cabinet! You can use dry or fresh herbs. If making a quart sized jar of tea, I use a handful of each herb, one lemon and add honey to taste once it's done brewing.
If you're using dry herbs; use 1Tablespoon of each per quart Jar. If you are using powdered herbs use 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of each for a quart Jar. (Sensitive taste buds? Dilute with more hot water to your liking.)
I typically drink this 3 times a day when feeling unwell. You can also make a large batch and warm up on the stove (don't boil) to enjoy throughout the day.
The longer the ingredients are left to soak in the water, the more potent it can be.
If you're pregnant or nursing please consult a medical professional. Same goes for anyone else, I am not a doctor, this is a comforting healing tea that works for me with science behind each ingredient.
For more info on the science see below, I also included an Amazon list of dry herbs and spices you can order online if you don't have any spices at home, as well as my favorite electric tea kettle because it's stainless steel inside and affordable!
There are so many studies and papers out there, I cherry picked a few for your consideration and further research.

Glad you’re feeling better! Everyone I know had some sort of a bug the last few weeks, well try it next time! If you’re using powdered herbs sun 1 tsp, if dried and finely chopped 1-2 tablespoon (depending on how chunky) you want one tablespoon then add more on the next round. Fresh ones I grab a small handful of each whatever fits in for me to tear up into the jar.
