Ohio is a strong red state I think Ryan did magnificently. Ran excellent campaign. He was up against red wall. He was a gracious lover. Ease give him that. We need more of that.
Maybe he would have gotten that last push if he had organised a rally with Biden and Obama. But he said no, he doesn't want them to campaign for him in Ohio.

Ohio went very red after Obama was elected twice here. We had a Democrat Governor as well. Kasich took the Governor role, the statehouse redrew district to guarantee GOP control and it's held ever since.
It's true many smaller towns and most rural areas vote Republican but our major cities, Columbus, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Toledo etc all go blue for local seats. Its mostlty because of gerrymandering.
Population wise were purple, a healthy mix but those computer drawn maps are making it seem we're not. We even passed a constitutional amendment that districts must be drawn fairly after the 2020 census but guess what, they didn't anyway. Several suites were brought to the Ohio Supreme Court but they allowed the gerrymandered districts to stand. *Dewines son is ON the Ohio Supreme court* , yeah no reason to recuse himself was there?
Yea, Tim Ryan is great. I don't agree with him on Student Debt refunds, but otherwise, he seems like if Biden doesn't run in 2024, he could be the front-runner.

Democrats look outward to the world and republicans look inside and are far more insular in their thinking. Personally under democrats the US will remain more democratic. So it all depends on which individual thinks is best for the world.
I guess it depends on what you think America's role in the world should be. The two parties don't differ too much on foreign policy. In my opinion, the best case scenario would be a merger between them. Then a new party could rise to the role of challenger. My pick would be the Greens or maybe the Social Democrats

@Daniela Ong Who said that? Typically after the election prices go up and democrats and republicans blame each other but we the people suffer. We have billions to spend on Ukraine and all other endless wars but the homeless are on our streets and the price of everything is through the roof. If you think Republicans are going to stop our involvement in to countless wars and Ukraine you will be disappointed. Oligarchs that own the military-industrial complexes are going make billions and you and I will pay for that. In 2016 republicans had a congress and senate and the presidency swamp did not get drained, not one useless government agency got cut, and horrible people got appointed to DOJ twice. Our legalized system of bribery (lobbying) did not get fixed, and insider trading continued. In 2020 democrats had the presidency, congress, and sent and the same crap continued. I observed these cycles of democrats and republicans since the 60s and lives for ordinary people keep getting worse with slight ups and downs but the trend has continuously been down. Each time politicians make promises they don't intend to keep and we lose some more freedoms until new cycles and new promises. As long as the super-wealthy can send lobbyists to bribe politicians people effectively will not have representation.
