Johnny feels like an insufferable kid tbh. I know he was always a little "immature" in the previous movies, but I could barely believe he's even a *husband* and a *dad*

Because she takes after her father, and is very nosy.
My biggest issue with this movie other than the forced bonding was that I felt like they could have made it more interesting by making it have higher stakes. Like have it be that hes so old that his days are very numbered as a human instead of johnny needing to be saved and no stupid marshmallow analogy. Blobby was easily one of the best things from the whole franchise.
But also they already bonded in the first film and accepted him so they made it happen again for no reason.

The worst part about this movie is the whole Demonizing Dracula angle they went through. It's nothing new, the first two movies went like that, but at least it was understandable with the whole 'Martha dying' and him having to raise Mavis for hundreds of years while hiding from humans, and the whole issue with Dennis and where he should live (the third movie didn't really demonize Drac which was new.) Like "Yeah Johnny is irresponsible and not at all equipped to deal with a hotel, but it's Dracula whose the problem", as if Dracula is the only one who should make an effort to make their relationship better and Johnny shouldn't better himself at all. It promotes said irresponsibility and reinforces the idea that you can be as disastrous as you want and when people dislike you for it then it's their fault. It's actually a bit sus when you think about it, like the creators are almost projecting onto Johnny, but that could be just me. I personally think this movie would be more interesting if Johnny or even Mavis were the main character, and they somehow mess up and learn something about how exactly to run a hotel and how much Dracula as sacrificed. Like I think that would have been a more interesting take imo.
Not only did Adam Sandler not return for this film, but Genndy Tartakovsky didn’t return to direct it. He directed the first three and his energy and charm was dearly missing in this movie. I would’ve written a much better script lol

Erica feels like yet more proof that Genndy Tartakovsky only knows how to draw like three different women and keeps recycling them lol. It’s either tall skinny woman with Betty Boop hair, tall skinny woman with long dark hair, or tall skinny woman with spiky hair (Ilana and Ashi).

The thing that pisses me off about this movie is that Dracula literally has to learn the same same lesson he's learned twice already.

And it took you getting Drac's respect, earning his blessing, marrying his daughter and having a kid with Drac's daughter for you to suddenly have that insecurity????????
I'm just gonna say it, I think your jokes (and editing) are way funnier than the ones in this film (as well as Hotel 3, Ice Age 5, etc.)
Also, instead of laughing at his misery, I legit felt bad for Drac the whole time.
Honestly I cringed during the whole movie. It was the most painful thing I've ever endured. Not tryna hate on it or anything, but it just could have been so much better.

I thought this film was alright the first time I watched it. But upon my third rewatch (yes my third. It’s takes me a little longer to spot everything wrong in a movie) I said to myself… “ yeah ok it’s not really that good”. It’s not the worst film I’ve ever seen, butt let’s be honest, they REALLY could have done better.
P.S: they did blobby unjustly.
Edit: one more thing. I know Dennis is still only like maybe 7 or 8 in this movie, butt I would trust him to take over the hotel over Johnny; and I’m sure we all agree with that.

Oh, yes, we must never strive to grow in any way, shape, or form.🙄 Lovely. That’s *totally* not incredibly toxic or anything.🙄 Fuck outta here with that “perfect just the way you are” crap, people. NO ONE is “perfect”; perfection is nothing but an idealistic pipe dream, and telling people they have no reason to grow and better themselves is extremely destructive for both those you seek to “empower” and everyone around them. Telling people they’re perfect just the way they are implies that they can cannot improve, so if they’re unhappy with themselves for whatever reason, you’re basically saying they can’t go any further. *Very bad for mental health.* This is also very dangerous for everyone else because you can encourage toxic or even outright dangerous people to continue hurting or preying on others. Would you want a serial killer to think he’s perfect just the way he is and keep killing innocent people because he feels justified? How about a domestic abuser? A rapist? No, you wouldn’t want that? That’s what I thought.
Also, I know how people work; when it comes down to it, overly “empathetic” and idealistic types are almost always full of shit. Why? I’ll use myself as an example: If I stated any number of my less-than-popular political or social views here, I have no doubt that not only would you *not* think I’m perfect, you’d try to shame me, guilt trip me, and/or vilify me for my views because they’re not what you think is “right”. If you wanna open that can of worms, be my guest, but don’t be surprised if you get “triggered”.
I guess that good sequel streak ended pretty abruptly, huh?

And according to the story of hotel Transylvania 5 Dracula realized that his granddaughter's meant well when they wanted to get their grandmother back but he knows that it is impossible! Dracula explained to Martha and Mina about their grandmother's death ever since their mother Mavis was born a very long time ago! And that is when the spirit of Martha came to the family and she sang the song remember me this Way! Only it should be the same voice as Elsa from Disney's Frozen and Frozen 2!

Brian Hull is voiceing Drac' in this rather than Adam Sandler... Brian is a CZcamsr who's famous for Disney impressions (and is the best at it) he nailed this part as well

Already expected a harsh review (specially knowing the role of Blobby in this movie), but once again, I was surprised with much more.
Lots of negative thoughts aroud this, but all justifiable. Don't get me wrong, those reactions are always fun and engaging, but the real thoughts about it, the genuine review about what was just watched... I guess that's what keeps bringing me back here. I just love the content 😊

The problem I had with it(other than everything)is that it makes it the same problem from the first two movies rehashed, that Dracula doesn't trust humans.

I stopped watching this series after the 2nd film, but at least 3 and 4 each have things that I like
With 3 it was Van Helsing as a villain and the Kraken(when he's evil)
With 4 it's Johnny in his monster form (when he's evil)
The only thing that bothers me from these movies are the body/facial movies, I just cringe 😬

Yeah, I didn’t really liked this one. In my opinion, this was the Ice Age: Collision Course of the Hotel Transylvania series, although not as bad. It fell short of the first three films, and lacks the charm or charisma that made them decent films. Since Sony stated that this would be the final installment in the series, this was a mediocre way to end this franchise. I felt like the third already had a good ending, but this movie most likely exists because the studio saw box office success with the last film and decided to make another one, but this plan backfired massively where the theatrical release was straight up cancelled due to rising COVID cases at the time.
But still, I really enjoyed your reactions to the Hotel Transylvania series! The first one is still my favorite and the second and third film are okay. Another animated franchise you should do next is Despicable Me.

I really hope there's going to be a hotel Transylvania 5! And if there's going to be I wonder if Mavis would have twin daughters and Dennis would be their big brother! I could picture Dennis calling his sister's Martha named after his grandma and the other Mina which was named after the character from the story of Dracula! And according to the story Martha takes after her dad Johnny when they were practicing karate and Mina on the other hand takes after her mom Mavis only she likes to read books about everything until the twins discovered a legendary spell book from the legendary witch hazel! But they also discovered that she was married to Merlin from the court of King Arthur! And he has a descendant who was a beautiful witch named witch Lavender! And the twins showed professor Van Helsing the spell book that used to be witch hazels! They found out that she died but not before she gave birth to her daughter Lavender but lavender never wanted to be like witch hazel she mostly wants to be a healer and that's when she invented the magical amulet of amethyst that has the power of healing! And the twins were thinking about finding a spell of Resurrection for their grandmother! But then they were discovered by Dennis Mavis Johnny and the others and they were about to stop the twins from trying to resurrect Martha Labov! And they discovered that the twins were helping lavender fulfilling the power of the amethyst to help them resurrect their grandmother! But I could picture Martha as a spirit and she was singing remember me this Way sung by Idina M. If you know what I mean!? She'll make a perfect voice for Martha! Won't that be cool or what!?
