- Recently I felt like doing a bunch of drumcovers again and Spiritbox had just released their new song 'Jaded'. The drums really impressed me, so I just had to learn the different parts and ended up making a cover in the end ;)
I also got to record some other songs, so expect more covers soon! They are all recorded on my old Tama Superstar, which is one of my favorite drumkits I've owned so far. In my experience, making drumcovers is a really great way to learn new stuff, but also improve your overall playing. While trying to remain true to the song but also add some ideas of your own in the process. I hope you enjoy this video!

Decent enough, but your meter needs work, and holy crap bro, you're gonna destroy those very expensive Byzances quickly if you don't learn to pull some heat off your cymbal strokes.

Don't guess, it's definitely a compliment! Unless you consider yourself a professional metal drummer, then I'd have a bombastic side eye for you lol. A large problem with these type of things is people are frequently liars, they will worry about your feelings more than actually giving real feedback.
Meter has a couple definitions in music, in this case it means stroke timing to the beat. Sometimes you rush, sometimes you're behind, but overall, not terribly so, and may just be a result of unfamiliarity with the piece. It also can refer to the time signature, but not here.
Glad to hear they've lasted 3 years! Meinl makes my favorite cymbals for sure, I've had mine for almost 10 now.
@@x8jason8x I see. Thanks for being honest. You are right, especially when it comes to fills (I think). Yeah they are amazing cymbals! I played with Zildjian for some years but changed back to Meinl again, and I just really enjoy recording and playing with them.
@@RuneFrisch I have some early 90's era Zildjian A and K series in the collection myself. I don't know what happened in the late 90's, but I don't like any of their cymbals from about 25 years ago on. I love Sabian sounds, but they just don't last, no matter how nice you are to them. Meinl just delivers on everything haha. Soon as my balance gets down on my sweetwater card I'm gonna pick up a Holland Bullet Stack 😅.
