      So...you should be a 4:25 guy.
      Train at 60-75% of your maxHR and see that time fly down....as you fly around that last 300...

      @@king-qi2ks I think everyone is super tired in a running race they just have to maintain form so they don’t show it. If you let your form breakdown when you’re tired it’s just gonna get that much harder

      His 3’37 1500 said enough about his times. 3’42 is about the equivalent of a 3’59-4’00 mile.

      Jazzy J true true his 1500 times does say enough. Although in this mile race for a full mile he really flew and dropped his previous time down by a lot.

      Jazzy J yes definitely he was expected to hit that. I’m glad NOP picked him up, but sadly with everything that happen with NOP he’s still doing amazing with Nike. Every race he proves hes got it and of course without a doubt he’ll be a olympian!

    Can someone explain the leading pace runners? are they competing in the race? does each team have a specific person for this or does each runner within a team do this at specific times?

      They are the pacemakers/rabbits their job is to set a certain pace for the race, they get paid for it.

    I ran track back in my youth days.... can someone explain to me why sometimes people just stop running in the middle of the race? He didn't look too fatigued to stop?

      They're pacers, they set the pace for the other runners to hit a certain time and leave the track before the finish, they get paid to do it.

      To avoid crowding at the start some runner must stay in the outside lanes for the first lap or two (depending on the exact rules). That would mean they run a further distance if they didn't start a bit ahead. It's calculated so that regardless of starting position the runner will cover the same distance (unless they go wide to pass). This is more obvious in 200 or 400m sprints where the athlete cannot change lanes at all.
