“His mustache is flying in the wind.” That is goated
This is the type of race where u hop on the track one type of runner and you come off the track a different man
Joaquin Ramirez yep basically he had to break thru a mental barrier in that race
But at the same time, 4:01 is still an incredible time
@@nathanvanderpool1175 4:01 is an INDICATIVE time... Indicative of a runner that has a little further to go in terms of breaking mental barriers.
Wow...very well said. Amazingly poignant.
When he smiled with 150 to go...
When you run a 3:56 mile & finish 3rd.
i laughed HARD when engels stuck his tongue out on last lap. he really is the definition of pure-joy-running
Great commentator. A step above the normal dudes you get to call these races.
They always look so calm. I can run a 5min mile but it feels like I’m just flailing about with a massive grimace for the second half
i hit a sub 5 minute mile once and thought i was going to die lol
So...you should be a 4:25 guy.
Train at 60-75% of your maxHR and see that time fly down....as you fly around that last 300...
Honestly, even tho the 5k runners look so calm and smooth but when I’m running an all out 5k I look like I’m bout to die
@@king-qi2ks I think everyone is super tired in a running race they just have to maintain form so they don’t show it. If you let your form breakdown when you’re tired it’s just gonna get that much harder
Taking charge in a race like that and still putting down a massive kick, oh baby
His mustache is flying in the wind? They're indoors!
Hunter Morgan haha
He's running in excess of 13mph... You don't think he's experiencing any airflow?
william dowling he’s running about 15.3 mph
@@williamdowling7718 its just a joke, hes running faster than must of us can, like 99 percent of people.
Hunter Morgan r/woooosh
👏Good job flo track, this isn't a decade old!👏
Also athlete special spotted at 4:27👀
Joaquin Ramirez yeahhhhh
Saw him too and was looking in comments for someone else who saw 😂
Lmao I thought that was him
lol nice
Joaquin Ramirez that’s not him
My man went from a 4:01 to a 3:53😳😳
His 3’37 1500 said enough about his times. 3’42 is about the equivalent of a 3’59-4’00 mile.
Jazzy J true true his 1500 times does say enough. Although in this mile race for a full mile he really flew and dropped his previous time down by a lot.
Kevin Hernandez yeah definitely a huge drop. I guess what I’m saying is that it was expected. NOP wouldn’t have picked him up if they didn’t think he could run under 3’55
Jazzy J yes definitely he was expected to hit that. I’m glad NOP picked him up, but sadly with everything that happen with NOP he’s still doing amazing with Nike. Every race he proves hes got it and of course without a doubt he’ll be a olympian!
One Word "STUD"
This race always puts a smile on my face
I remember running the same time.. On my half mile... Incredible!
goosebumps.
Was lookin for someone to comment this :) Really stunning stuff!
Loved the commentating
This guy is absolutely my favorite runner to watch, he made that look so so easy...
3:52 without the mustache
That stache definitely gives him some lift when he exceeds 15mph
His mustache flying in the wind!!😂
Very good mile time. I'm impressed.
Imagine your first sub-4 being 3:53.94
AMAZING COMMENTATOR
Crazy speed/endurance
Engels' kick - wow!
this commentator is so much better than all the others they get
The guy who came last ran like a 4:10. Rip to my man who probably also ran a pb
4:01, not 4:10. Craig cut 8 seconds, not 17.
I think the mullet adds a sort of aerodynamic advantage but the joy for running is his real edge.
Man I’m 15 and went to track as a sprinter now 8m watching this cuz I gotta run the 1 and 2 mile race
We love you Mr. Mullet
finally good commentators
Craig goes through in 2flat. coming back in 1:53... oooof
His mustache is flying in the wind!!
hover your mouse over this vid's thumbnail. it's great
3:53sec to run a mile?
Who is that guy wearing red shirt 2.56?
I love mustache man
すご
Can someone explain the leading pace runners? are they competing in the race? does each team have a specific person for this or does each runner within a team do this at specific times?
They are the pacemakers/rabbits their job is to set a certain pace for the race, they get paid for it.
What is the story with the pace runners ?
Chariots of fire???
ok ok i seee u
Is this track smaller or something ?
"his moustache is flying in the wind."
I ran track back in my youth days.... can someone explain to me why sometimes people just stop running in the middle of the race? He didn't look too fatigued to stop?
they have pacers, or "rabbits" for pro races to set the pace for the first part
What the heck did the guy fourth from the inside throw on the ground at the beginning
Benjamin Dover His race number fell off I think
A 3:55 and you come in second...
why do some of them just run off the track
They are pacers
thatboss 21 what does that mean
@@sheawhitetoney they run with the runners for a bit of the race to help them finish the race in a certain amount of time
thatboss 21 ah, thank you kind sir
That’s my 100m pace😊
Bro wtf howwww
nobody is going to talk about the sub optimal O2 level with all these people stealing fresh air.
“HIS MUSTACHE IN THE WIND”
Humans aren't supposed to look that strong after running 1350 meters that fast.
Steve Prefontaine?😂😂
Sports Nut reincarnated
Patrick Wu yah haha
Engles had the greatest look since Burt Reynolds. Can't believe he shaved his stache and lost the mullet.
Why those two just hop out of the track?
They're pacers, they set the pace for the other runners to hit a certain time and leave the track before the finish, they get paid to do it.
next target 3.47
How is that fair that half the guys start on the outside but they are way up front? is there a rule that they have to stay in that lane for half a lap or something?
Yes. As you can see, they don’t cut in until after the third turn.
This is 2 years old
And?
Anyone notice the athlete special at the end lmao
his tongue is out on the back straight! WITH THE MULLET! MUSSSSSSSTACHE FLYING IN THE WIND
These guys pace is faster than my 3 sec sprint.......
3 seconds for 20.63 meters is good, though
So I don’t watch much athletics.... came up in my recommendations, why was there a grew of guys starting ahead of the others???
To avoid crowding at the start some runner must stay in the outside lanes for the first lap or two (depending on the exact rules). That would mean they run a further distance if they didn't start a bit ahead. It's calculated so that regardless of starting position the runner will cover the same distance (unless they go wide to pass). This is more obvious in 200 or 400m sprints where the athlete cannot change lanes at all.
a361lbs cheers!!!
He had the full handlebar stache by the time he got home!
3:12 ,A wild Demetrius "Mighty Mouse" Johnson appears!
He was a very good runner in his own right
Never gone below 4 minutes and then suddenly goes below 3.54???? Seriously? Who improves their mile PR by more than six seconds at this level?
Must they show spoilers in the title and thumbnail ??
Not really breakout if he’d done the same thing in the 1500 earlier I feel
Hes not even breathing hard .
this video is shorter than my mile time wtf!
again 2 years to late :(
Pronounced "Oregun" not OreGone.
Was he doping..?
ORGONe
The length of this video is my 1600m pr LOL
Third
First
First.
social distancing in the crowd.?
This race happened back in 2018
terrible
Craig Engels hasn't achieved anything, and is already a has-been. Yikes
