Haven't heard "sexy" used so frequently to describe a trailer but I can't disagree. I'm also a repeat etrailer customer and agree they are pretty awesome.

Good job!! One thing I hope you looked at, opening the truck tail gate. I had to take a similar jack off and weld in a plate to mount it farther away from the truck. Dent in tail gate still there. LOL

Good job Troy, and done right. I've always had problems with lighting. One thing for sure tho, having a trailer is a lot like owning a farm tractor. If you have them you'll always have a friend that will sometime need to borrow one or the other.

the Marker lights are great for backing up at night so you can tell which way your going Looks good Troy !!! Troy I dont know if you know this but those Tires you put on your trailer has a Max speed of 60 MPH after that you might have problems I had the same tires , I learned that the hard way I was on the four lane doing 70-75 and the tires kept getting big knots swelling out on the sides of my Tires I went through two sets of tires before I called the Company and they informed me about the speed rating I had to go with a 10 ply tire to stop my problem I was doing over 60 MPH was the problem they told me it was building up heat and I always need to put the Max PSI in my tire and never use any thing Under a D load range for over 60 MPH

Did a fine job on your trailer. When I had one I used to padlock the hitch closed. That was before the days of battery powered angle grinders. Just as well you keep your trailer plate in the truck. On my old trailer it was the only thing worth more than scrap metal price.

I liked the time lapse on that wheel bearing assembly, see if the armchair referee's can keep up with to complain as to safety regulations. One reason people chose Virginia was freedom for doing stuff their own way or as dad said, there's right, wrong and my way and you can figure 99% time was his way. Nice job and not wasting what you have. I look at it this way. Spend the money for new and just hook up and go or take say three days fixing one for yourself. If you divide three days into real cost and then take days spent fixing and divide difference and you find out how much money you saved/paid yourself and its real good wages then as at least twenty five hundred or about eight and change hundred a day. Makes you "almost" ready to build and sell. As if on a farm that size you can find time to do willy nilly. Great job Troy and god bless

Nice restore on your trailer Troy I hope to redo mine when weather improves. I have my plates lock bolted to the folding ramp on back of my trailer. I didn't have my trailer a month and had my plates ripped off at the local lake parking lot while I was on the lake fishing. If they get them now they will have to work for them, at least they would earn them.lol

Nice job on the trailer project! Really enjoyed watching this come together. I would recommend putting some 3M type reflective tape across the back and down the sides to reflect headlights and other lights. Really helps when it's dark outside. Not sure if it would stick to the red coating or not, but you can figure something out! Take care.

here in north western Ont, Canada our trailer plate is $25 and good for the life of the trailer, unless you loss it, a replacement is $17 IF YOU DONT disply your plate on tthe trailer, the fine is the same as it is for any car or truck, $150 fine and if not paid with in 14 days your drivers license is suspended, as costs $350 to have it re-instated, it dont mater if you have the plate on you.. must be a cheap light to brake from just falling and landing on a tool, or you got mad and drilled it to the floor, the lights i install on all my custom built trailed, you can give them a hell of a kick and they dont crack

@@RedToolHouse interesting, i have seen videos of usa people building a trailer, and all the red tape you have to go though to get it regestered and plated, here we build them and just go down an tell them we have a home made trailer, you tell the color how many axcels GVW annd as long as GVW 10,000Lbs you pay a life time fee of $25, 10,001 to 25k #250 a year an so on.. ticketed for an expired inspection sticker, wow here it be plates off right there, towed plus a $500 fine a shop has to do an MTO safty every 12 months, on anything 1 ton and up, cosy me about $1500 to get a safty on my F600 a year, lucky if i put 500km a year on it, farm plated

  • @volvoben2

Well, I guess everyplace has their downsides trailerwise; I pay over $200 every year plus excise tax to keep my two trailers registered, you can't park your trailer without someone stealing the license plate. Certainly can't get away with no plate here, and technically you can't tow an out-of-state trailer with an in-state vehicle...There are upsides and downsides to every state having their own rules. I don't like breaking rules, but sometimes things do get silly.
