I’m a licensed cosmetologist....and I agree with you! My Salon uses Deva products on our curly girls and we have all taken classes in the curl girl cutting techniques. Coloring your hair is fun! But bleaching is just damaging. It just is. Good advice! Keep up the good work!

hi :) How would you know if a product works for you or not? since you're supposed to be patient for years? Do you use that product for years until you can say "this is not working for me"?
There's one product you don't have to wait long to see the results of. Well atleast not longer than a week: fake sebum(44% coconut oil , 25% joboba oil wax monesters & 30% olive oil)
In my honest opinion I believe that if a product works for her it doesn't mean will work for you. First your curls are a thing of beauty! Most of your tips I use in everyday practise, same experience with straightening which I deeply regret. Patience is key after 5 years of trying many different products and methods I have finally found my routine and enjoy my curls to the max!
This video very randomly popped into my recommendation list when it came out. I’m soooo greatful I watched it, because to be fair, my hair routine was horrifying. Almost 2 years later, my curls have never been better! I get compliments all the time now. Right when I was getting results, people asked me if I curled my hair (I used to brush my hair so much you literally could not see the curl pattern). Thank you so, so much!!
If you want healthy hair and have highlights naturally, when you're about to take a bath at the beach, squeeze a lemon on your hair where you want highlights, and take a sunbath and when you come back from the beach wash your hair. if you need more informations watch Ellen Fisher's video about her hair. Everything is natural and even if it's damaging your hair(if your hair loose it's color=it means it's breaking no matter if it's natural or not) but it's still less damaging than puting chemicals in your hair ^^
I use Arctic Fox dye on top of my natural hair. The ingredients are natural (for the most part) and extremely nourishing. When i would dye it it acted almost like a deep conditioner and left my hair soft and with beautiful big curls!
Color doesn't damage your hair if it is professionally done. You need to use professional hair products and conditioning treatments for curls. Lightener which is bleach will ruin your hair if you over do it. I'm a stylist so I've seen healthy colored curly hair this video has a lot of misguided info but her curls look great💁🏽
gurl, i know this video is like, super old. its been about 3yrs since i started my natural hair journey and let me tell you... this video saved my hair thank you so much!!!!!!
Wouhouuuu just translated this whole video from english to french ! It took me 3 hours but so proud I did it !! I hope this video will help some french girls to get along with their curly hair as you did for me Ayesha ! Thank you from a huge frenchie fan of your hair !! Bisous xoxo
Anaëlle Gouvier ARE YOU SERIOUS?!? 😭are you an angel sent down from heaven? I’m trying to figure out how to access your translations. Next time I’m in Paris, I want to meet you ❤️
OMG, can't believe you answered meeeeee ! Just did it yesterday night, YT is maybe checking it out and it'll be good in a few hours/days ? You girl have no idea how much I'd love to meet you, but hey not everyone lives in Paris unfortunatly (I mean, in that specific case haha)
Anaëlle Gouvier right! 😂 not every French person lives in the capital, it’s just whenever I go there, I just stick to Paris and I don’t venture out to far. Feels like paradise to me.
But you shouuuuld go somewhere else than Paris !!! Especially in summer, there's so many places to see in France ! And so freaking things to eat ! You should definitly go to Brittany (west coast), people are so nice compared to pure parisians, very helpful and you'll see a complete different kind of culture like festivals of music, food and landscapes... put that on your bucket list for next time, just don't stay only in Paris, even though it's a good place for tourists, you have so much more to see in France, trust me... wow sorry, so patriotic right here aha
STORYTIME: Years ago I found your videos while searching how to deal with my own dry curly hair. I was about to starting a new journey with my hair. Journey to love them as they are and to know how to treat them right. I searched videos in youtube and the ones that popped up, was these your videos. I was too broke to buy devacurl-products (now I’m happy for that) but I started to use more oils, stopped completely using any heat, got better shampoos and conditioners (nowadays sulfate-free and silicone-free) etc. You became like my role-model how I wanted my hair to look someday. Today I’m still on my journey. A Little bit longer and a little bit healthier hair today, but still struggling with dryness and frizziness. Last night I found a really interesting science-based blog-writing about how a hard water affects your hair and your hair’s porosity and how to fight against that. Where I live the water is very hard and I believe I have found again something that will help me a little bit forward again. Still searching and testing new products. Maybe one day I will find the perfect products (and methods) for my hair. It really shocked me to see your 2 newest videos and hear about how big thing this devacurl scandal is. But it really broke my heart when I came to your channel and saw that there is 4 videos left after all this. 2 old videos about oils and right treatments (these two were my favorites) and then these 2 new ones about this devacurl damage. Like.. all the work and commitment and these years.. And your hair! 😭💔💔 I really really hope that you will get your dream-hair back soon somehow and that devacurl gets fully exposed and shot down or something like that. Love to my curly-queen 💛👑
I literally just realized I watch this video EVERY YEAR since it came out - right in the year I started to learn how to take care of my natural hair. And now I've also noticed I am following ALL of the tips(except for the heat, I gotta blow dry it bc it's really cold where I live and if I don't blow dry w heat I get sore throat). Anyways, this video has literally everything you need to know in less than 7 minutes. Now, I feel so good with my natural wavy hair and I intend to keep rocking it 😍
You are so right about straightening.Even if I straight like once a month, it totally affects the texture and the curl pattern. Then it's hard to wear it curly anymore.
Step 1 : do not colour your hair Step 2 : do not use heat Step 3 : dont not use sulphates , silicons ,parabens, alcohol.. and do not brush hair when its dry . Use brands which focus only on curly hair . She uses diva curls. Step 4 : oil your hair like coconut oil . She sleeps with oil 2 times a week and washes it in the morning Step 5 : deep condition it will heal damage Step 6 : have patience it takes time to get results.
RESPECT thank you for giving props yo the curly hair community, for stating where you got your methods and knowledge. Thank you for your realness and shouting out those target products 🙌
But that's it. Just imagine how quick your hair grows. The most benefit has the new grown hair that never gets stressed. The old you need to repair as good as possible. So you need to wait a little until the hair regrows but then you will shine 😊

Hi Ayesha, new subbie here! I’m not really a curlie (I’m really a wavy) but I can’t stop looking at your curls 😍😍😍. They’re awesomely awesome. Did I mention awesome? And you’re gorgeous; can’t wait to see what your channel has in store!
I’m 13 & I have naturally curly hair. I have hated my natural curly hair since 6th grade and I’m in 8th. I have been getting used to not using heat. I had to cut a lot of my hair off because it was badly damaged from the heat. I have straightened it so much that the first top layer of my hair doesn’t curl like it usually did. I decided to put the straightener away and I / anyone who is reading this should embrace their hair. Your hair fits you, for you. 💛
Catherine Savage girl I was in your shoes when I was in elementary school I hated my curls because girls would make fun of my hair. I haven’t straightened my hair since and I’m still getting over the damage. Deva helps a lot
MMv RRf stop frizz by not putting the heat on it. Your hairs frizzy because it’s dry and damaged. Look into shampoo and conditioners with no sulfates, silicones, alcohol... there’s a few others but I can’t think of them off the top of my head right now. Bumble and bumble have an amazing selection for curls. They were a holy grail when I first started taking better care of my curls. But they are a very expensive brand. Deva curl I’ve heard is another holy grail. They’re next on my try list. But they’re also pretty expensive. I’ve found that as she says either in this video or another Walmart doesn’t have anything that’ll work for us. If the company caters to straight hair chances are they’re bs’ing the curly haired products they put out. Not worth the time and money in my opinion. She has another video about what oils work with curls. Which I’ve been using for years and they truly do help a ton. Just don’t give up. Do your research find what works for you and cut back on the heat. It’s doing more harm then good for your hair.
yeah i know about all of that but unfortunately ill have to wait until i grow up and have my own work i cant make my parents pay that much money jus to take care of my hair because the supermarkets have shitty shampoos :/ curly hair is for rich people ugh we have to use so many products to make it perfect :( if the products were cheap ok but not over 100 dollars wth
Aisha just said under her latest video that she’ll be doing a big chop soon 😭 DemonCurl needs to get sued asap. They’re denying all the harm they’ve caused to thousands of people too 🙄
wh- _really?????_ not only do they permanently damage thousands, maybe even millions of people's hair and scalps, but they're _denying_ it too?? _unbelievable._

I've been bleaching/dying my hair for about 5 years and it's lost so much of the curliness... makes me so sad! Now it's basically that "beach waves" look with a few ringlets here and there. Once I get all my platinum blond grown out I'm chopping it off!! ..probably going to take 2 or 3 years. Wish me luck!

I agree with like 99.9% of this video! I've been growing out my hair for years and the curl pattern is similar to yours and people always tell me they wished they had my hair because it must be so easy to maintain...lol WRONG. Coconut oil weekly + cowashing in cold water + the mountain of leave-in products I use is not low maintenance! I do disagree with "if a company makes products for straight hair and curly hair then they don't know what they're doing". I'm a cosmetic chemist in Seattle, and I promise you, lots of research and time goes into formulating hair products. Not all of it is good by any means, but you can find great products that are more inexpensive than DevaCurl :)
I agree w u conpletely. Like that DevaCurl Deep Conditioner is ridiculous $$$$! Other than those few things I love everything else she says also love her hair and presentation of her truths. I look forward 2 vid @ hair oils. I definitely want 2 hear more.
I know no one asked me hehe but I’m a curly cheap girl and I’ve always used Shea moisture. I love it, it’s cheap. I’ve never tried DevaCurl because I try to keep to one line of products. Some people go crazy trying every new product that comes out. I thrive in keeping my routine simple. She’s moisture Shampoo Shea moisture conditioner Shea moisture deep conditioner Shea moisture curl cream And some kind of oil I have low porosity so everything I use is good for low porosity but Shea moisture also has things for high porosity. Good luck! :)
I love Shea moisture products to be honest. Maui moisture is another great one that's generally silicone free! I also like Cantu products, their cowash is awesome and silicone free and like $5 😁

Unique madness growing out of your scalp hahaha! Love it. Glad to see you're making youtube videos. Please do a video on your oiling process and one on your haircut. I think a big part of how you get that volume has to do with the way your layers are cut. I can't find any stylists that cut dry here in Pakistan so I cut my own hair. I'd love to see how yours are cut and where they lay so I can cut my own
I heard a good tip for curls and tried it yesterday, it works. Once you've washed and put product in, do not touch with your hands until dry! Even if using a dryer, keep your hands away from your curls. Once bone dry fluff them, shake em. Its hard not to touch, but worth it!
How do you make your hair look nice throughout the week? I wash my hair twice a week and for the first day after the wash it looks super nice, but after sleeping it becomes flat or tangled up. I then have no idea how to style or fix it the rest of the days, so it ends up in a messy bun! Any advice would be wonderful!
Zoe Lang super late, but fill a spray bottle with water & leave in conditioner of your choice (I do 3 parts water 1 part leave in) and spray your curls in the morning
Zoe Lang oml SAMEEE. Its different for different TYPES of curly hair. Some people have loose curls, kinky curls and wavy curls. But trust me NEVER just soak it in water just to style it. I had decent messy curls but I bleached it recently and now I regret it. hair is not the same. Its so frizzy and my curls won't curl anymore, it stresses me out 😢😢😢. Thank you for this video I learned a lot. 💜💜
I love my curls. Just came here to admire your's. Been doing Curly girl for about a year now but started with fairly healthy hair; stopped dyeing in like 2006 and haven't dyed since. After about two months of curly girl my hair found its ringlettes again and I couldn't be happier.
The thing about coloring hair is that sometimes, depending on the color you choose, your face can look pale or it can even make you look like you're sick.. The wrong color will not just damage your hair (the right color will do so), but can also make you look less pretty than you should. Natural hair color always matches skin tones and undertones.
Really looking forward to the video on oils! But I do have two questions for you: 1. How often do you cut/trim your hair? and 2. Do you have any suggestions for hair maintenance or cleaning for those of us working out on a daily basis? See, I love when I do a treatment and have awesome second day hair, but then I go to the gym, get sweaty, and feel I have to wash my hair in order to get out the sweat and product buildup--I end up shampooing more than twice a week and can tell it's stripping my hair of moisture, so do you have any suggestions? Thanks!
I workout every single day and my head sweats so much. I have found that once you workout, take your hair down and let it air dry for a bit. Then I use Batiste dry shampoo (for brunettes, because I have dark hair) and let it sit for like 30 minutes to really dry and soak up the sweat/oil. Then just massage my scalp and it helps so so so much!!!! I used to wash my hair every other day. Started the CG method like a month ago and now I am washing every 3-5 days or so. :)
You're so gorgeous!!! We have almost the EXACT same hair type and color. I really hope you make more videos in the future, because you have a very beautiful personality and the world of CZcams needs more curly girls like you!
I was adopted at birth, I went through 17 years of being taught to brush out my curls. It wasn't their fault that they didn't know how to care for curly hair, but my hair was utterly trashed. Now I don't brush it at all, only comb with my fingers to detangle, and I did "the big chop" last fall where I completely shaved my head and started over, it was just too damaged to come back from. TBH I still don't know what I'm doing, hence why I'm here. I'm definitely going to try Deva Curl. I never want my hair to be that damaged EVER again.

@@boop6169 same!! though, sort of the opposite. i had knee length hair for the longest time and had mostly straight hair with ringlets at the bottom. i never knew my hair was curly at all.
then, because curiosity got the best of me, i cut my hair to my shoulders and now it's super springy and curly from root to tip :D i'm hoping i can grow it out again while maintaining my curls.
Girl, when you said the stuff about the patience I was like "Hell yeah, I can wait, but when I get to see the results tho?". I see this step everywhere and I always recieve the same answer "Long enough". I just, thank you for being more specific! Like, now, I have a better view of this process~
hi :) How would you know if a product works for you or not? since you're supposed to be patient for years? Do you use that product for years until you can say "this is not working for me"?
There's one product you don't have to wait long to see the results of. Well atleast not longer than a week: fake sebum(44% coconut oil , 25% joboba oil wax monesters & 30% olive oil)
In my honest opinion I believe that if a product works for her it doesn't mean will work for you. So to all those people saying: oh I do all like she said but my hair are still not nice, well that's normal! Your hair are just unique and won't react in the same way. Being gentle yo our hair is a must but using the brain is too. Xx
@ Simona ..your last sentence hahaahahahahahaahaa

Truth seeker South Asia consists of many more countries than India alone. Also how are you generalising South Asian women-they are not the same as Middle Eastern women: different regions of the world, different interactions of DNA. Please open a geography book thx.
This lady has earned my trust in a 6:50 minute video...

Meep I legit trust her more than my stylist right now and I've only seen this video so far 😂
Deva curl products failed me. I lost my hair because of Deva products.
Ani V I became balled because of divacurl.
😬
Trust lol
First your curls are a thing of beauty! Most of your tips I use in everyday practise, same experience with straightening which I deeply regret. Patience is key after 5 years of trying many different products and methods I have finally found my routine and enjoy my curls to the max!
eyonna highmoor Whats your wash day routine/ fav products?
When you said; “ I feel like this is my best physical attribute”, I felt it. That’s exactly how I feel about my hair.
I never used to like my curly hair and I would always straighten it now I love it it’s so easy bcs u kinda don’t have to style it it’s already curly!
I have curly hair, but I absolutely love colors!! Its a constant battle of curl or color. Your hair is beautiful btw!!
Surviving as Mom me to!
I TOTALLY AGREED!!!
Hey anaëlle! How did you translate it? I would like to translate it in German and turkish but i dont find the "button" to add languages.
"90 degree curls" 😂 made me laugh
Zayzafooun same here😂
You are absolutely right about hair dye, there is NO SUCH THING as non-damaging hair dye.
You have the most gorgeous hair I have ever seen holy crap
Your hair is amazing
Nice
T Sultana king qdq
Step 1 : do not colour your hair
Step 2 : do not use heat
Step 3 : dont not use sulphates , silicons ,parabens, alcohol.. and do not brush hair when its dry . Use brands which focus only on curly hair . She uses diva curls.
Step 4 : oil your hair like coconut oil . She sleeps with oil 2 times a week and washes it in the morning
Step 5 : deep condition it will heal damage
Step 6 : have patience it takes time to get results.
RESPECT thank you for giving props yo the curly hair community, for stating where you got your methods and knowledge. Thank you for your realness and shouting out those target products 🙌
"Patience" *subtle evil laugh*
But that's it. Just imagine how quick your hair grows. The most benefit has the new grown hair that never gets stressed. The old you need to repair as good as possible. So you need to wait a little until the hair regrows but then you will shine 😊
Me: * is watching this video while brushing my curly tangled hair while it’s dry before I get in the shower *
Spisha: “do not brush your hair while it’s dry”
Me: 😳
yeah! nooo dont! do use your fingers or a big comb with lotta conditioner and lotta waterso you dont brake it.
Olivia Worth no if you’re careful and use oil
@Saanthwana some say wet hair makes it fragile so when you brush it wet it causes breakage.
DEVACURL IS A DAMN LIFESAVER. Anyway I hated my hair to and cut it off. I regret that
but my curly hair is always frizzy and whenever i go out i cant go with that hair... so i straighten it :/ how do i stop frizzy hair?
I would love an updated curly girl routine!
Aisha just said under her latest video that she’ll be doing a big chop soon 😭 DemonCurl needs to get sued asap. They’re denying all the harm they’ve caused to thousands of people too 🙄
wh-
_really?????_
not only do they permanently damage thousands, maybe even millions of people's hair and scalps, but they're _denying_ it too?? _unbelievable._
it's insane because my hair looks like yours did in 2015 and I thought this looked good!!! I don't believe it that my hair can look as gorgeous as yours does now thats insane! Great video and such helpful advice thank you so much! just subscribed 🤗 going to watch / spam the rest of your videos now lol
Larissa Zellmer right me too I got happy , except I didn’t think my hair looked good
Who’s here after watching her Devacurl hair video and why she stopped using it 🙋🏽♀️
I am here to pay respects to the mane that dc wrecked.
“This hair mask will always be my favorite” ... well this is awkward
That's the one I brought my first, last and only Deva Curl product and it destroyed my hair!
J lol
A S this is just so fucked because I just tarted my healthy hair journey and now it’s like I took 10 steps forward and 50 steps back😔 I was oiling my hair once a week to make it thicker and now it’s thinner then when I started like fuck deva curl dude this is so fucked up
@@anon-lm5qb Same gurl, I'm using aloe vera & coconut oil for my hair throughout the day and black castor oil and coconut oil twice a week! I'm also going to order amla oil which is an asian hair thing for growth and thickness! 🤞🤞
This didn't age well
I have 4c hair but i loooove watching videos on healthy hair journeys....its fascinating to see health and growth.
I believe her face is her best physical attribute
Please make more videos! I love the ones you have made so far. Can't wait for more so I can follow your example.
Everytime I want to colour my hair I come back to watch Ayesha
THEY LIED EVERY SINGLE TIME😂😂😂😂 So true
My god she's the most beautiful woman I've ever seen. I could also just listen to her voice for days 😊
You’re very pretty Ayesha and I think that while both curly and straight hair looks good on you- curly looks waaaaaaay better, like WAY better.
Wish me luck!
offtoneverlxnd i had very curly hair too. And then i colored them soo much. And now they are not that curly like last year. Ans i want it back soo bad. Ps. Im not good at english. Don't judge me please🙂👐
I definitely want 2 hear more.
irocketify what are some inexpensive products you would recommend
what are some INEXPENSIVE products you recommend?
I know no one asked me hehe but I’m a curly cheap girl and I’ve always used Shea moisture. I love it, it’s cheap. I’ve never tried DevaCurl because I try to keep to one line of products. Some people go crazy trying every new product that comes out. I thrive in keeping my routine simple.
She’s moisture Shampoo
Shea moisture conditioner
Shea moisture deep conditioner
Shea moisture curl cream
And some kind of oil
I have low porosity so everything I use is good for low porosity but Shea moisture also has things for high porosity.
Good luck! :)
I love Shea moisture products to be honest. Maui moisture is another great one that's generally silicone free! I also like Cantu products, their cowash is awesome and silicone free and like $5 😁
Why is she SO BEAUTIFUL!??
Just stumbled on your video.. Mashallah you're beautiful and your hair's gorgeous xx
Hey Ayesha.. im a maturer'rr female w/tight curly hair and have ALWAYS conditioned. didnt start highlightin til last yr due to grays and my luscious curls have disappeard. I know its the bleaching ive gotten but Coconut oil just dries my hair. but for the most part youve got your tips, DEAD-on... thanks. Patience, yeah.

Thank you for supporting topics on using natural products. I recently subscribed to your channel because ive been having problems with my hair. Ive been straightening, coloring my hair simultaneously and it reAlly did a lot of damage to my hair. I got to the point where i told myself, ‘’f*ck it, i dont want this anymore” and started being natural. And now my hair is doing good. The lesser the better.
Girl I have watched this video over and over again to remind myself and just to see your pretty hair and face and get hope for my hair
Please for the love of God do makeup tutorials toooo!!! I am OBSESSED with your eye makeup especially!!! Please help me. My ABCD self has been trying to do what you do, but can't seem to find someone who doesn't overdo it or is my Punjabi skin color (you know that makes all the difference)! Heelllp!

Love the „unique madness growing out of your scalp” idea❤️
Unique madness growing out of your scalp hahaha! Love it. Glad to see you're making youtube videos. Please do a video on your oiling process and one on your haircut. I think a big part of how you get that volume has to do with the way your layers are cut. I can't find any stylists that cut dry here in Pakistan so I cut my own hair. I'd love to see how yours are cut and where they lay so I can cut my own
Finally a desi hair youtuber with my type of hair
Yes! I wish she uploaded more but she went through so much
I love you. You rescued my curls. Please don‘t stop posting videos. You are my hero and you are just georgeous!
Ayesha speaks for the disadvantaged people and promotes peace ✌️.
Lol balochis?
Damn her hair was gorgeous and doll like
I heard a good tip for curls and tried it yesterday, it works.
Zoe Lang Have you tried the pineapple method?
Zoe Lang super late, but fill a spray bottle with water & leave in conditioner of your choice (I do 3 parts water 1 part leave in) and spray your curls in the morning
Zoe Lang oml SAMEEE. Its different for different TYPES of curly hair. Some people have loose curls, kinky curls and wavy curls. But trust me NEVER just soak it in water just to style it. It will make it smell bad and take out the oils so youre hair will get really dry. Trust me, ive been there before
I sleep with my hair behind my head inside of a satin pillow case! Helps so much.

I have NEVER in my life met ANYONE (not even my sister) with the same curl type as me like we literally have the same hair its so hard to find ppl with similar hair. Its always "too thick" or "too voluminous" so when I use the same products as others it doesn't turn out the same. YOU'RE A BLESSING. Thank you so much. I subscribed half way through the video. Lol

I came back after 10 months to comment that is girl knows what she is talking about. I have followed her advices as much as possible and I definitely see difference. For sure I have recovered from hair lost. Curles I don't see much difference, but my hair definitely look and feel healthier. Thank you
Mary Abrahamyan do you also minimally wash your hair? Curious as to how to maintain it in between
I had decent messy curls but I bleached it recently and now I regret it. hair is not the same. Its so frizzy and my curls won't curl anymore, it stresses me out 😢😢😢. Thank you for this video I learned a lot. 💜💜
What is your hair like today ? Has it grown ?
You along with your curls are gorgeous!
My mom stop using heat on her hair and she went from hair loss to thicker hair from me I have curly hair she has wavy hair... I’m so happy for her😊
Oil makes such a difference. It's amazing I can't believe I lived so long without it. My favorite right now is sunflower oil

I started using mauis moisture and I love them
I've been following the curly girl method for almost 4 months and I loved this video. So simple and nice. Great job
👏🏻 Greetings from Costa Rica.
our textures are nothing alike but this video and your personality..... subscribed!

I just recognised her from there and was trying to find out was she the same girl and scrolling down on coments and here you helped me😊
I was adopted at birth, I went through 17 years of being taught to brush out my curls.
I literally cannot focus when Beyoncé is playing in the background 😂
