    Another exceptional video, per your usual standards. Your videos are among the very few that I will watch from beginning to end. Something I do wish you had gone into on this video, and could maybe cover in a "short", is the rated (and actual) output of the DC box connections. It's odd to me that they have a 40-amp cable connecting to it when every one of those potential loads, if running simultaneously, wouldn't even draw half that many amps! :) I'm mostly interested in whether or not those USB-C outputs are 100w, as that is what is need to power some modern devices. ETA - Found a video showing the user manual where they list the USB-C output at 45W...not horrible, but also not enough to run a laptop, unfortunately. Also, the 11AWG cable it comes with is rated to 20 amps, at that length. To route a full 40 amps through the box you would need to build a cable using 8AWG wires, which is no big deal, but worth noting. I'm not sure I'd want to push 40 amps through that box anyway, not without inspecting the internal bus bar to determine if it would really stand up to that kind of current.
    Do you think they could have put 4 of the 280AH battery cells into that box? Thanks for another excellent review video!

I currently use battery pack made of 10 x 12v gel batteries connected in series with total voltage of 120v and would like to replace the gel units with LiFPo4 units. Unfortunately manufacturers state the max limits for series connection usually up to 4. Do you know why? Is the battery pack built of 10 LiFPo4 units connected in series not going to work? • @Sylvan_dB
      @Sylvan_dB Před rokem +1

      They probably buy a lot of 100ah cells, so using them is likely cheaper. The size / form factor of 100ah cells probably makes packaging easier. For most applications that's likely the most significant factor but chemistry of the electrolyte distribution within the cells is usually better with smaller cells, but the number of interconnections can be a disadvantage.
      Licitti has what looks to be the same distribution box much cheaper.

      What you gotta remember though, is your not just paying for the cells. It's the cables, BMS, etc. I agree that the price seems "not cheap" ... I mean for $1200 I can pick up cells in the USA that have about 7.5 kWh capacity ... so double the price for 3 times the capacity ... However, once you spend $100+ on a BMS, then consider cables, lugs, etc ... the cost comparison becomes less advantageous. It's still cheaper but by a lot less than you first think (and that's not really considering the time you need to put in versus a plug and play batter like this).
