Basically there was only around 20-30secs between the old and new Hotpoint machines but obviously the newer one went into anti-crease mode which adds another 2-3 mins onto the cycle. I like both machines as the old 1980's one is exactly like my grans machine she had in the mid-late 1980's (which was sometimes in use when I visited with my parents when I was a little nipper and I used to sit in front of the machine mesmerized by it (also my parents Electra Branded Hoover Electron A3060 machine from the mid-late 70's) - and now I am beginning to become interested again at 41) and the newer model (circa 2010's?) is very quiet!
My family currently has an old zanussi wdj1285b and my cousins had the same machine. We chose to repair ours and they bought a new one. They are currently on their 3rd new washing machine. Only had the change the drainage pump and lock mechanism... machines over 20 years old Shows how much better old washing machines are!
Congratulations for 50k subs and, the old hotpoint as always and as usual, the best ;-) No suds or unbalance detection sensors. Just gets along with the spinning and does quick ramp-ups to save time. Also has more flexibility on choosing programs or starting in the middle of programs as electromechanical timers are always more flexible, and last longer. Even if the 9530 still has an electronic (PCB) system in it (it's obvious, it's called "Electronic 1000 Plus"), it's an analog, not digital!
The old one : none of the nonsense faffing and just getting on with the spins beautifully and amazing fast acceleration. Shame the grotpoint active care doesn't live up to the old one.
