  • Welcome to 24K Gold Music Shows!
    "HELLO MARY LOU"
A song written by U.S. singer Gene Pitney, first recorded by Johnny Duncan in 1960, and later by Ricky Nelson in 1961.
Nelson's version, issued as a double A-side with his No. 1 hit "Travelin' Man", (Imperial 5741), reached No. 9 on the Billboard music charts on May 28, 1961. In the United Kingdom, where it was released as an A-side (with "Travelin' Man" as the B-side), it reached No. 2. It was also a hit in much of Europe, particularly Norway, where it spent 14 weeks at No. 1. In New Zealand, the song reached No. 4.
24K Gold covers this fun oldie but goodie!

The description is for a different song. "Hello, Mary Lou" was written by singer Gene Pitney. It was first recorded by Johnny Duncan in 1960. Ricky Nelson recorded it, in 1961.

Pastor Doyle's singing talent was more as an Elvis impersonator, which he was actually quite good at if you watch enough of these 24K Gold Music videos. Some covers like this one were a bit more mediocre. With a bit of effort, obituaries can be found online under his given name of Loren D. (Doyle) Armstrong

@@daveinvic7567 I agree with you 100%! Some of his numbers/covers are very good!
